The entire Alto TS series kicks ass. My band just put together a complete Alto system of TS mains, monitors and subs. The best bang for your buck out there....IMHO!
I have 2 of the TS318 subs 18 inch and they sound AMAZING , remember to have an expert tune your system and you will be impressed what they can do, they BOOM LOUD and are very well made ALTO #1 sub
will be one ts218 with 2 ts310 enough for a backjiard party about 70-100 people?the sub could rock enough??
I have one TS218 sub to go with a pair Alto 212’s or Alto 308’s and it’s a beast. Highly recommended!
I have a pair of alto 312 so do you recommend the Alto subwoofers?
there`s a heavy lows on JBL..for live kick on drums?, i would prefer it..thanks for the vids sir..
Can you tell me please which sub you recommend more. The alto ts218s or the alto ts318s ? Does one hit harder and sound better than the other, or are they about the same ? Thank you for your videos and honest biased opinions !
Thank you island man! You are the best on RUclips! You should get a video award for best reviewer ever! I like Alto because of price point.... reliability long haul scares me...going to my guitar center this wkend. Love Yamaha & QSC dj speakers but expensive as heck. 😁!
Thank you God bless island man 👍!
Pls do sound test with Yamaha DBR speakers sir
Hi, can you compare the new JBL EON 700 series with new Alto TS4 series ?
Hello, thank you for the time and effort you put in your videos! Sir, I have a nice set of Roland V Drums. Recently I bought a Roland PM-200 personal monitor with a 12" woofer and a pair of Alto TS-310's after watching your video. I want to now add a powered sub woofer either 15" or 18" and was wondering what you might recommend to really help with lows in the base drum? Thank you so much for your help. Kind Regards, Tom
Robin Here, Just answered your question in my latest video here is the link ruclips.net/video/faRbyn4l4EA/видео.html
i have the alto for a year now. its still working. and im telling you its sounds so so deep and its amazing hahahaha maybe get the jbl if you want more kick.
I went to the guitar center. Listened to the qsc and alto. The both sound the same.. I ended up getting the alto because of the weight and 1/2 the price.. would the Alto last, we'll see.
Thanks for the info. Im getting my sets of alto
Steady manos , how the alto sub is been doing ?
@@tavyakangler3419 the sets of ts315 and ts318s are awesome... Im loving them for my karaoke... Thanks man
Jó?
@@tavyakangler3419 sorry I didn't get notified.. The TS318S are loud the QSC are louder but heavier.. I DJed a small school dance for 100 students and it bumped. If it would have been for 500 students I would probably need 2 sets of subs.. so that is something to think about.. but all my gigs are for 100 people max so these speakers are perfect for that..
can you review turbosound milan m18b
What's the peek for FBT 115A Pro?
Hi thank you for this informative video! I would like to ask if this Alto TS218s can be daisy-chained in case of multiple subs setup?
No problem - XLR in / XLR out
Nice video man, btw, was the alto paired with which of the ts tops? I have a pair of ts215 but I wanna go up to the 315 and 312 models. I do weddings (in mexico) and this gigs are meant to setup an audio system that allows you to sound like a small nightclub (average wedding is around 200 people outdoors). Your input on this would be great for me because I dont have anywhere to go and do a demo of this product
I have the TS312 on top of the TS218Sub and the Eon612 on top of the EON618
if you looking at outdoors and alto then TS315 on top plus TS218s, the tops have so much power you need an 18" sub under each one for outdoor play. you could always start with one and add the second one later.
@@expertisland Yeah, actually I never use more tops than subs, currently I have 2 ts215 running on top of 2 DIY double 18 inch subwoofers @1200 watts rms total each box, a couple of single 18 BKL subs powered by Bunker on 300 watts and 2 15 inch Bunker tops rated somewhere near the 200 rms each so actually I need more subs than tops, but I want to replace the 2x18's with branded boxes (being more reliable and more managable as singles) and repeat that same system replacing the BKL and Bunker speakers.
@@expertisland thank you so much for this advice sir, more power to you sir
Hello ! do you have a audio sounds shop somewhere! Sir
What would you advise me? Gear in new zealand is expensive. For 1300nzd i can get the 18inch alto at 40kg which is a lot of weight or for 2299nzd i can get mackie sr18s. Which is 7kg lighter. Im in a cover band should i just save money get alto or should I go with mackie? Is it an option to get 1 18 sub and 1 12 sub to cut costs and one less heavy? Or is that dumb? I have ekx15p tops
Hi
Any issues with running either of these subs with different branded 12 inch powered speakers ... like QSC CP12 or Mackie thump ?
Hi, does the alto sub come with a low pass filter when paired with an alto 315? Love your vids sir.
Yes, it does.
What is the best sub to pair with my two alto tx215 ?
Can somebody told me
If one of this would be great with the 312 speakers ?
Can show the shop, where if we wont buy alto sound system', IM from Indonesia😊🙏
Check with inmusic.com to find a local retailer.
I just luuuuuuuuuuve your expert and honest advices sir, Thank
Hello please review the bishopsound 100w rms 18" subwoofer or recommendation for the most powerful subwoofer to date in the 800 to 1200 dollar/pounds budget range thank you or would a serious sound guy have a chat thank you make sure I get notified
Hi sir this subwoofer we can't use the full band music
I see subwoofers out there that are 3000 watts or more. Does watts make a difference?
There are all I kinds of subwoofer on the internet and it's all about wattage real or not, here is a sample of real big power for an 8 hour show at 90 to 100db non-stop SRX828SP Self powered dual 18”, subwoofer system Power Rating 2000 W Peak Maximum SPL (1m) 141 dB $2500 USD that is 3 to 4 times louder in the real world then the EON618S. There are great subwoofers from $500 to $2500 you just need to find the right size for you.
Two points I wanna make, first power ratings aren't RMS they're continuous average power. RMS is an electrical term not a speaker or amplifier power term although manufacturers do put RMS in the specs and on boxes etc...because it's an easier term for customers to understand. But in real world terms it's an electrical term, the correct term is continuous average power. Ok lastly manufacturers advertise peak power because it looks more impressive, in reality it's a worthless rating. Peak power means a speaker can handle or an amplifier can output that power but only for a millisecond, they're instantaneous peaks whereas continuous average power is continuous. So an amplifier might be able to continuously output a certain average power and a speaker might be able to handle a certain amount of continuous average power. If a speaker is rated at say for example 800 watts peak power handling and you power it with an amplifier that can output 800 watts continuous average power into the speaker's rated impedance and turn it up full you'll blow the speaker. If you power the speaker with an amplifier that can output say 200 watts continuous average power the speaker will be fine because if the power rating of the amplifier ir accurate it should be able to output around 800 watt peaks.
I Talk about your Comment in reference to wattage and numbers in the Q&A Video Have a look ruclips.net/video/-e1vapANQJ4/видео.html
Watts is how much power is uses to get its maximum volume, I hear so many people talking about wattage like it means something when they should be talking about total db rating with no harmonic distortion.
Ive seen 2000w rms 4000 may watts only getting to 76db where ive had had speakers that only use 150w rms that get 98db with no distortion
Cheaper in power and louder, I also bet the frequency range and sound quality was better
Im in a rockin reggae band kind of like Iration/dirty heads/ sublime etc and we like big huge heavy bass even if our volume isnt over the top loud. Really struggling with picking out which subs to buy. Any help for the style of music we play? Thank you
Michael Gillespie JBLs EON subs are not loud at all. Returned mine for some EVs. I’m here watching because Altos are suppose to be E.V. clones.
Larry Watts Jr
And how are those EV’s coming along ?
Do they hit hard and give good deep bass ??
I’m looking for a pair of subs for my church band. We play gospel music, so bass needs to be phat and tight !
Qsc kw181 is perfect for reggae bands
Hey, how would you compare the Alto and the JBL to the Mackie thump 18s?
they are all good options for the price but the box is bigger on the Mackie
@@expertisland Thanks for responding! How would you compare them sound wise, and maxium output? In the video you seemed to like the Alto's sound better, but the JBL seemed louder. How would the Mackie compare?
out of the box, I think the Alto is better but if I played with the connect app for the JBL I think I can get that one to be tighter and louder and how it sounds 24ft and 36ft away - That's why it cost more. The Mackie thump18s is a Band-Pass style with about the same power and settings. like Coke vs Pepsi it"s a personal choice.
@@expertislanddoes the mackie 15bst have a connect app and would it sound as good and as loud as the alto and jbl with the speaker and sub setup?
Do you have to use both inputs on the Alto or are they essentially daisy chained inside?
Hello, ill just thanking for the effort of your videos. Sir, I have a nice Set of ALTOS / Speakers 2 pcs. TS 215 /1100 Watt and ALTO PROFESSIONAL TS 315S Powered Subwoofer plus ALTO APM 200 POWERED MIXER AMPLIFIER .For now my Set-up is I put ST OUT from my powered mixer and LINE IN to my POWERED Subwoofer is that the correct Settings. thank you in advance more power//
Nice Mixer, just stay away from any powered output on the mixer and your good.
Can’t hear the 2nd sub through my iPhone
They both had like no output, compare them to a ks118 or any EAW sub
What was the app volume at and what were the crossover points set too. I get more bass here from by far on the EONs at 80hz crossover through a DBX Driverack PA with a set of JRX 125's. I get too much bass at 25% lol Oh and you mentioned the 1250 watts the Alto is using but not the 500 watts the JBL is using hmm gee wally think that matters. This piss poor planning of a test lost a sub.
Did you watch the video? He explained the app controlled eq on the eon was turned off, then he explained about peak and rms on both - 1250 peak/625 rms for the alto, 1000 peak/500 rms for the jbl.
I have headphones on. It’s amazing 😉
I agree mate do you have any music channels you recommend for high end speakers ?
@@jgilly3362 ruclips.net/video/D-h6MoF7HLA/видео.html
May be something wrong with my Ears but to me I like so called loose sound , it’s more rumble rather than a short whack . I am not overly impressed with my Alto ts215s if I’m honest
Good point to bring up, this video is more about what you're looking for in a subwoofer, one does not sound better than the other just different. Speaker Sound is like Cream and sugar in coffee ever one likes it their way and that OK.
expert island
I actually use them at home , when The Ts215Sub was paired with Alto TS115a tops they sounded alright , now I have the Alto TS315 tops and they over power the subs , I had two Behringer d1200 before and they didn’t have the power but they punched way above their size in terms of bass.
I was instantly in impressed with these after reading so many good reviews .
But the shape of them Jbl aren’t practical .
Will Alto make a 3 series sub?
Nothing confirmed
they did
It is set to hit stores in June 2019.
2000 watts max-1000rms
Alto sub sounds deeper , but when paired with the top it’s missing some warmth / mids . It’s all Boom from the sub and hiss from the tweeters . No midrange going on . May be switch jbl top withbthe alto sub
Run your top from the full range XLR out and eq the mids
I went to a store to purchase ev elx200 18p but take the alto ts218 instead
Ts was clear and loud.
How much the alto 18" SUB
I Answer your question in this Q&A Video ruclips.net/video/46HTwRYg28g/видео.html
I much prefer the Alto! wow!
Need to put a high pass filter on them for the lowest rated frequency response as well.
If its anything to go by I have repaired Alto gear replacing there cheap drivers with better quality options, such as JBL, PD (Precision Device), B&C, Eighteen Sound, Eminence, Beyma, Fane, but if they did use a better longer lasting driver you will pay double, so its the old adage, you get what you pay for. BTW an FBT 118SA costs £1,400 compare that with an Alto £450.
Out of the two I would seriously go for JBL but its probably fitted with a budget speaker to keep the price down. Here in the UK an Alto 18" driver used in their Sub is only £125 why .... because its cheaply made, if and when it burns out replace it with a PD (Precision Devices) at £255, or B&C £237 it will sound twice as loud for the same input (+3 dB) and will last a lot longer. You can of course pay even more, PD do their best driver PD. 1850/2 costing £395 each almost the cost of the cab over here, all PA companies use this quality driver and won't choose anything less. Buy cheap buy twice.
Like Tires on Your Car, The Factory always has a budget, When you replace them upgrading is never a bad idea.
Yes your'e right, but what I should have mentioned in my last statement instead of saying 'because they are cheaply made' I should have said 'they are made to a price'.
Some time ago I joined the Alto help community forum and the amount of people that has suffered horn tweeter problems is amazing, not surprising really they are using a tiny unit that cannot be a genuine compression driver fed at peak with 350 watts as is with the TS215A, no wonder it fries the voice coil, again they are built to a price, and is light enough to screw onto the 1" horn body, trouble is when it blows, which won't be long, there is nothing on the market to exchange to a better driver.
As you have your own store I wonder how many customers ask for top of the line brands like the FBT etc.
Just need so music with a little more bass in it to really tell..
real music would be nice but it has to be royalty free. still look for better options.
your demo is only as good as your listeners speakers.
Alto is a more entry level setup making it very easy to control. JBL is setup the way you say "not so tight" your 100 bucks is not the app etc. its the build quality. its far more complex. the jbl has the eq to setup for bands or venue difference and loads more.
furthermore.... run both products side by side under the same hard working conditions and you will quickly figure out why some brands are more expensive.
The alto drops lower. The jbl hits harder because the box is to small. For dj i would go to the alto
I love JBL but alto is a lot better
Sub alto 👍👍👍👍👍👍
👍👍👍
Shut be 625 full 1250
EV ElX 200 18 sp vs JBL eon 618
seeing they are the same price both with app support, that would be a good video. Putting it on the list.
The Alto stack sounds fuller and has more punch- you can feel it in your chest. The JBL stack is louder, but the bass is muddier and over-all sounds like it needs better EQ.
the jbl when couple together sound much better, atlo sub by it self is better .
JBL Eon line always sounds great as a set with the connect app EQ run. That's why you pay more for the Eon, and that's why I put the Alto against the Eon. How much you spend is up to you.
you are right, thanks.
pls vote jbl or alto 😊
You want a cardboard basket?! I prefer mine to be steel.
He is pushing them jaja
better to get an SVS.
