Kenma is honestly such a chill and pretty kind person. He’s also introverted and we love him because of that. Side note: Hinata and Kenma’s friendship is so wholesome!
Kenma is my favorite character.
I love that Kenma is very reserved and the team supports him regardless
I love Kenma. I honestly relate to him a lot. In high school I was on the swim team. Like Kenma I hated getting tired and did anything I could to skip laps. Which ended up making me gain time and get bumped from varsity to JV. After watching Haikyuu I definitely feel like if I had watched it sooner and seen Kenma in seasons 3 and 4 it would’ve been beneficial for me as an athlete and I would’ve seen that if I work hard I could overcome the fixed mindset I had since the end of my freshman season.
I love how Hinata automatically adopts Kenma like "hi we're now friends I want you to be happy" and Kenma is like "k". These wholesome kids 😭

Technically, it was Kenma who adopted Kuuro and brought _him_ out of his shell though. xD Kuuro's just repaying the favour now that they're older.

It's actually a very common trope in anime not to show the face of someone who is perceived as great or imposing until you finally meet them. Yeah, sometimes it's to not spoil a surprise, but more so I think it's a way of dehumanizing them so that's easier for the audience to perceive them more as the ideals they represent to the main characters.
This is really insightful! We often idolize people by thinking they are "special" and as you said this is exactly a way of dehumanizing people.

I think part of the reason that we don’t see the Tiny Giant’s face in the anime (at least so far) is to maintain the mystery and intrigue behind this heroic figure in volleyball to Hinata, rather than giving him a face and a name and allowing us to see him as just another former high schooler! I think it really emphasizes just how much Hinata idolizes him and how much of an impact he has on Hinata’s current aspirations as a volleyball player
exactly! it kind of gives him a legend/myth status which is exactly how hinata sees him
Actually you will see him later in season 6 most likely when they are facing nekoma it hasn’t been animated yet but it’s in the manga

Not spoilers, but Tiny Giant is nowhere near the age to be Shoyo's dad. Remember that Shoyo watched Tiny Giant play in the Nationals 4 years prior to now. He's only 5 years older than Shoyo. 😂
He's also not at all important as a character, his silhouette is all you need to show the points the people talking are trying to make. The tiny giant is basically only used as a tool for explanations
Tiny Giant’s existence and purpose in the story is also pretty subversive for the genre, I won’t spoil anything but I’m really excited for anime-onlys to find out more about the character.

Yeah, I think Victoria gets Nekoma’s play style very well, but I think she’s still having a little trouble understanding (which, to be fair, this is more explicit and fleshed out further down the line) that karasuno isn’t quite a “team” yet and relies heavily on unconventional offensive strategies and aggression to make their points.

Nekomas strategy limited hinata not kageyama, kageyama as a setter can send the ball to anywhere most of the time from any position, Nekomas strat though made it so kageyama couldn’t use hinata. Kageyama how ever can set perfectly from mostly any position from an overpass to the centerline he can cover, only time I can think of when kageyama had a hard time setting was against kamomedai where their serves and blockers made it harder for kageyama to use his attackers

@@theSkin_of_a_Killer_Bella no offence taken, kageyama can set from anywhere on the court, nekomas plan did nothing to limit him as a setter, bc time and time again kageyama is proven to set the most ridiculous of balls, ex the overpass quick set during inzaraki match at match point. Only serve that can really stop him is if it was a serve that was received and the ball didn’t go very high, but even then kageyama pulls off a wicked quick set in the kamomedai match (I can’t remember exactly which chapter it was all I remember is kageyama being low and pulling off a quick and tsuki going ugh the ball came to me and the blocker goes ugh a quick from there?), the point I’m getting at is nekomas plan didn’t limit kageyama, it limited his attackers and most importantly hinata, because a decoy that can’t atrack is not a decoy at all, what op was getting at is that the serves made it harder for him to set (which it didn’t, serves were literally just floaters in weird spots to either block hinata’s route with nishinoya or make him take a knee) sorry if this is long.
TL:DR kageyama built different set any ball, nekoma cripple Hinata and others but not kageyama

A lot of people forget that Kageyama is actually an all-round ace! He’s good at everything from spiking to serving and blocking but of course setting is his favorite.
Kenma: chill, quiet, shy, introverted...and detached, and coldly analytical. He's the perfect antithesis to Shoyo's "ball of sunshine" demeanor...the one common denominator between then is that they both hate losing, and sharpen each other as rivals. It's great that they become friends after their first skirmish!

That delayed spike is called a "pump one" and was used in men's volleyball until the 2000s (or so Coach Donny tells me).

Not sure if someone said it already, but when they say we are plasma they mean they're blood. Nekoma's players are like the blood of the body supplying oxygen to the brain (kenma).
We should not forget that Kageyama can literally serve, receive, set, block and score. He's an all-rounder ace. It's just that setting is his best weapon.😊

Ending credits or Outros: sometimes a change in Outro means that there are extra hidden scenes at the end that you don't want to miss! Especially when netflix's "next episode" icon doesn't appear at the end. One of the most important post-outro scenes is in episode 24 that I hope you won't miss! ❤️😁

Coach Donny said on his reaction video that delay attack is a pump attack which is a very old school move and done in both professional and high school level. You get to see major character development for tsuki from season 2.

About watching the entire outros: generally it's not necessary (unless you like the song and just want to listen to it!) but sometimes there's post-credit scene (for example I know there's one for ep 13 and ep 24 this season) so if you don't want to miss those clips it can be a good idea to stick around (although most episodes don't have one). Personally I just check if the outro seems to start "earlier" than normal, and if it does I'll skip it and see if there's an extra clip afterwards :)

When I first watched Haikyu I watched it with headphones in, early while eating breakfast. It worked either for a relaxing morning with the development episodes and for getting stuff done with the tournament episodes.

It’s certainly a weird choice, but I believe the dub uses that wording too.
That always threw me off since I knew *blood* carried oxygen throughout the body, I was always like, “Is plasma like...a part of the blood now and I just didn’t know?” Lol thanks.

When I first started to watch Haiyuu I would just binge it late at night in my bed (which is how I normally watch anime). But after finishing the anime, I like to re-watch episode while I exercise. It’s a real motivator and the music really pumps me up. I even listen to the OST when I can’t watch it (like when I’m out running or walking).

I always watch Haikyuu in the afternoon or evening, always after I'm done with my homework. I usually just watch and focus on what's happening, sometimes I watch it casually while eating some kind of snack.

I'm not sure serving them out of system would work on Kageyama. He's practically superhuman with how accurate he is and as long as the ball goes up, he could probably set Hinata with the freak quick from anywhere on the court.
And you have to consider the fact that nekoma doesnt have a truly powerful server like aobajosai

I'm thinking further in the series, when hinata can spike with his eyes open. in the second season kageyama and hinata both do individual training to get to a point where the freak quick isn't something the team is reliant on. So in later games when it pops up it's either in a situation where the blockers are to slow to deal with it and then they don't really go back to it or they're kind of backed into a corner, like the serve receive putting kageyama in bad position. When the opposing teams are so good they had to get better.
But that still wears him down more than if he'd had accurate passes
