I trust your reviews over anything on the internet. I wish there was an SLB APP with a video review of every bourbon. And thanks for continuing to review "gettable" bourbon.

I'd love to see a 10 year blind with eagle, widow, Henry, and a couple others you guys enjoy! The maker's 101 is a great value over the regular maker's for not much more money, but the added depth and complexity it's a no brainer I wouldn't even buy a regular maker's again.

Ok now this is EXACTLY what I want to hear about when I get a review of an off the radar choice, actual prominent flavor notes that are very bold like you described. I have no interest in the next big thing that costs $60 plus unless there's something that's going to really punch like you have described with a vanilla or a chocolate or whatever they're really going for.

Another great video! I would love to see you do another round of the best bourbon's under $__, but with a twist like bourbon madness where the winner of a $20 round would be promoted up to the $30 round, etc... Maybe even broaden the brackets with multiple groups at each level to get some more variety.

Purchased the Widow Jane late summer for $75. First pour I was so disappointed. Had a funk taste on the finish that made me wince. First thoughts were my palate was off but flavor on another bourbon pour was spot on. Placed it on the shelf and forgot about til a few weeks later giving it another try. The funk was gone but nothing special about the flavor. Few weeks later, the next pour was better. Only bottle I’ve purchased that was exponentially better on the next pour til the last.

Another nice video! I really prefer the 13 WJ over the 10 and price point is not much higher at all. It’s not nearly as thin and a bit more classic taste as I find the 10 actually proofy for where it’s at.
A couple of other “Not underrated / not talked about”: Frank August. May be hard to find now but at $65 it is purportedly a BiB, but because it’s undisclosed on source they could not put on that label. It’s is quintessential bourbon. Not saying it’s the greatest bourbon you’ll ever have ( though it’s quite excellent and I rate highly), it just is a bourbon drinkers bourbon. Another is Luca Mariano. They do a SiB bourbon and SiB rye as well as a slightly “more exclusive” signature bourbon bottle. About $60 and it’s quite rich with some vanilla and stronger oak notes … some cherry on finish. Last would be Hillrock (Not Rock Hill … LOL) out of NY. They distill and have their own grain floor on premise. The rye is a huge cedar bomb which is quite rich and not something I want everyday, but quite unique. I prefer the Solera as the cedar note is tamed down quite a bit and more classic flavors come in. Not cheap … $100, but nice to have on the shelf. I could do a few more, but will stop here.
    Keep up the great entertainment!

Eagle Rare drops every 5-7 weeks up here in PA state stores at 29.99 and after taxes you're looking at 3 bottles almost compared to 1 bottle of widow Jane (~96 for 3 ERs compared to mid 80s for WJ). Not a chance I pick the WJ over that. Unfortunately it's still tough to get and you have to be on your game anticipating drops but you just can't beat the price of the Eagle at retail.

When I think of a good 10-year, I think of Russell's Reserve, and its half the price of Widow Jane. Just wondering how you think the Widow Jane compares to the Russell's 10? May I suggest an underrated rye bourbon: Middle West Spirits - Straight Rye Whiskey ( Dark Pumpernickel ) with notes of vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, and a pumpernickel rye spice finish. Full body, complex and unique

I had a pour of the Tarr at the storefront they have in Lexington, KY. It was good but just didn't wow me for the price. Maybe I need to give it a second go. Aside from the Tarr and the MM101 have not tried the others. Will be on the lookout!

I got to try the Oak & Eden Amburana finished whiskey at a special tasting and have wanted more ever since! Fingers crossed I can find that eventually or something else that is using amburana as a finishing wood. I agree that once I had tasted Maker's 101, I have no reason to go back to regular Maker's if I can help it.

I love MM101 so it's kinda cool that it shows up here. I snagged a Widow Jane Decadence this weekend based on how much Trenton loves it and boy is that a tasty whiskey. Great video guys! Cheers!

Picked up widow Jane 10 year last week I'd label it the best bottle I have out of the 4 I have.. EC. OF. WT Rare breed and WJ 10.

I'm going to keep an eye out for the Makers 101. I like the regular Makers. About 6 weeks ago I picked up the 46 but I haven't had a chance to crack it open for a sample yet.

Widow Jane is awesome! It is one of my 10 year bourbons. I wish it was the same price as Eagle Rare.

I'm like your friend, I love most Maker's Mark products, but can't see the justification for the price increase to the 46. The MM 101 is quite a step up from the 86 proof, imo, and hits that sweet spot for higher proof bourbons; well worth it. My buddy loves the WJ 10-year and always has it around, so I don't necessarily need to buy that one myself. For some reason, Clyde May products don't sell well here, and always end up in the discount bin at my favorite store, but I might have to search out that 5-year red label.

Clyde Mays made here in Alabama. That Special Reserve is pretty easy to find here in Alabama.
