When she said that I was like "What? That ain't Gar Saxon." 😂 Made me think of Ray Stevenson who voiced him and is playing Baylan Skoll. Been a big fan of his since the movie King Arthur all the back from 2004. Hope he's at peace.
I think it was definitely Anakin. He was like "Ive heard that before", clearly mentioning his fight with Luke, he didnt recognize Siege of Mandalore, he also had actual emotional reactions throughout. Plus, Jacen heard them fighting, so it wasn't in Ahsoka's head.
@@undie3x7 If it was Anakin, that would mean he was really there at the Siege of Mandalore and that they shared that exact dialogue we just witnessed. Which isn’t possible because we’ve already seen the siege and Anakin wasn’t there and the WBW doesn’t change the timeline. The only way it could really be Anakin is if the force manifested itself as Anakin and it wasn’t the WBW. That way it would still be a vision. I can buy that theory, but if it WAS Anakin, why wasn’t he just a force ghost?
@rafiki1017 Technically, I think he is a force ghost. But they're in the world between worlds, which is all time existing at the same time and separate from the "real world," which is why he doesn't look "ghostly." Or you die, you become one with/part of the force, and it's all a force vision, but Anakin is dead and part of the force, so it's still him. The dialogue from Ryloth wasn't the same dialogue they shared at the actually time that happened, so that kinda kills your theory that it would have to be the same dialogue on Mandalore. This was old Ahsoka reliving these moments in young Ahsoka's body with Anakin to try to get her to learn what she needed to. Which is why Anakin said he didn't know the battle on Mandalore. I'm pretty sure the "force" knows what happened at the Siege of Mandalore.
This was a brilliant way to depict the inner struggle a character must go through to let go of the past and embrace the future and to have faith in themselves… and Ahsoka definitely felt different in the end - as if the clouds had lifted
Did you notice how Ahsoka went from "we must stop thrawn at all costs" to "I'll bring them back, I promise". Even before that she told Hera "I think I know how to find Sabine" not ",I think I know how to get to thrawn". That's just so amazing
Good job commander. This was my first time seeing one of your reactions. Oh boy did I get lucky! It's so nice to watch a reactor who knows the material and who is a genuine fan. Outstanding job!
I had just sat back down after freaking out from the first flashback but then I see a Mauldalorian and I leaped back up off my couch and flipped out so hard and the flashing visuals of Hayden as Vader and his change in voice for a second towards the end is just *insert italian hand here* lol VERY excited to see Thrawn and ezra to return cannot wait to hear that organ music again
A lot of name drops and a few subtle nods. Like when Ahsoka said "I won't fight you". Anakin replied "I've heard that before". Definite Luke reference. I really enjoy watching reactions from fans who know what's going on. Appreciate you ;)
Just found your channel off of this video and I love your love for Hayden and Rex. Been obsessively looking up episode 5 videos tonight because I can't believe what we just watched. Subbing!
I never thought we’d see this. Thank you Dave! Anakin is truly the chosen one, he can go from Anakin to Vader and bring balance to the eternal realm of the force . He truly embodies both sides
No. Balance is the absence of people who willingly give in to the dark. George has always described balance this way. It’s not yin and yang. That’s why Anakin brought balance in ROTJ.
Definitely the best live action that we have received. I was emotional from beginning to end. Huyang made me so sad. "But they never listen" it was so touching. Anakin and his interactions with Ahsoka were just amazing. Can we talk about the music for just two minutes? Dear lord the music was just amazing! On, Jacen and the force theme. So amazing!
I NOTICED THE FORCE THEME IN MY REWATCH!!! thank you for mentioning the music because that something i always love discussing. Kiner knocked it out of the park again!
it was sad hearing Huyang say "But they never listen"... deep down you know he wasn't talking just about Ahsoka and Sabine, but also about the countless number of Jedi that he has seen come and go throughout all of his years mentoring them.
Good Job Commander ❤, don't worry about rambling a lot i love it and keep it coming! PERFECT and GOAT episode!!! Super super excited for the next episode, wish it was Tuesday already lol
Personally, this episode REALLY hit home the fact that the Jedi allowed CHILDREN to command entire armies! The Jedi order truly died the moment the Clone Wars began
I didn't think it was possible but Dave Filoni has got me even more excited for seeing Thrawn in live action. He really is the best thing to have happened to Star Wars in a long time. Great reaction!
Loved this episode I just realized that Anakin basically helped Ahsoka pass her jedi trials to become Ahsoka The White she's acting more like herself now because she's at peace and I think it's so cool how Anakin can tap into the dark side at will cause I think he's taken the place of The Father and keeps the balance between the dark side and the light as a way to serve penance for what he did as Vader
hayden learning to be anakin again and understanding how the voice actors portrayed his character and incorporating it in this episode. he really understood that it is not his character anymore and had to study it shows how he really cared for it.
Good job, Commander! I think your assessments are spot on. The young actors playing Jaycen and Ahsoka are excellent. I love Ahsoka’s transformation (and am hoping it carries forward so clearly). I’m not sure I’d rank Hayden as all time #1, but with this performance he shoots up pretty high in my book. I’m glad the RUclips algorithm brought your channel to my feed. Subbed!

I transformed into a kid again when i rewatched this episode. It was so incredibly validating for us clone wars and rebels fans. Clone wars and the star wars movies always felt so different but here they're one and the same, It was beautiful.
Love the subtle nod from Anakin at the end, after Ahsoka has made her choice to move forward from her past, and take hold of the good of the legacy she comes from. Anakin’s subtle nod is towards a distance noise, the waves crashing, and Ahsoka looks in the direction, she looks back and Anakin is gone. It’s like in dreams, a hint to wake up.

The bigger picture of the sequence with Anakin is the fact that Anakin has learned the power that he was promised by Palpatine.... to save the ones he loves from dying.
I really think it was Anakin after death finally fulfilling his role as the chosen one, This anakin showed a perfect balance of the light and dark side of the force witch I have always thought this was the true meaning of the chosen one and balance. let me know if anyone agrees or if im crazy lol
Ahsoka "transitioning" from Grey to White after her meeting with Anakin was perfect. Ultimately it was a final lesson from her master which allowed her to finally overcome her inner demons and being able to at last move forward, finally able to fulfill her full potential and reach the peak of her power.
Ariana Greenblatt (played young Gamora too) was absolutely perfect as young Ahsoka, she nailed the character, it FELT like the Ahsoka from the Clone Wars show, both from a season 1 and season 7 character development standpoint. Her and Hayden's chemistry was perfect. They genuinely caught the same feeling from the show.
7:00 Btw, did you know that according to “Bespin Bulletin” there was a fight scene shot between Anakin (as Hayden Christensen) and Ahsoka (as Savannah Steyn instead of Ariana Greenblatt, at least for that scene) on Mustafar in an alternate-reality-like setting during the "world-between-world like" moments, which they said was cut from the actual episode? In that scene Anakin would have showed her that she couldn't have changed his fate to become Vader even if she were there at that point, which would have taken away a lot of her guilt of her not having been there and not being able to save him, resulting in the now more light-hearted Ahsoka. They cut that scene, maybe cause it wasn't really a memory and/or cause Anakin's message/lesson was a different one? Though I still hope they would release it as a separate video on YT or sth like that, cause I would really like to see what that scene (and Savannah Steyn as Ahsoka) would have looked like and it also explains a bit better imo why Ahsoka is more enlightened and happy at the end.
Hello There, hoped you enjoyed episode 5 of Ahsoka. Dave Filoni is a genius, very episode he directs leaves us on an emotional roller-coaster and leaves us speechless. He deserves a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame someday ⭐️😊😊💕💕.
Loved your reaction, Laney, and I agree with a lot of what you said. So much good in this episode, but I especially liked seeing "Clone War" Anakin, as well as I appreciate that Ahsoka seemed to return to her personality after the lesson from him. Great episode for sure!
@@laneybyers Just imagine if Ewan McGregor made an appearance as Clone Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi, that would be even more epic if Anakin and Ahsoka were on screen with Kenobi

didn't see anyone complain about young Ahsoka, everyone loved her, she was perfect as Ahsoka, really impressed with her fight scene, especially vs Anakin.
Good Job Commander. I so much enjoyed your pure happiness and enthusiasm for this episode. This series is getting better as we go. Much Love to you and all the best. May The Force Be With You ❤🙂❤
YOUNG AHSOKA! Clone Wars era Anakin! This is crazy. Hayden in Clone Wars gear is amazing. AND Anakin was doing the exact same three blaster deflecting blocks like in either an episode of the Clone Wars show or the Clone Wars movie just before Ahsoka says 'This is the Clone Wars?!'...God I'm such a nerd.
10:39 To me he seems a bit more like the father, controlling both light and dark (like the chosen one is supposed to, cause that was supposed to be his role on Mortis, the balance) and using that to teach her, to send her back? I have definitely seen some theories that say he could be a 'the father' like figure.
I was amazed by this episode. It made me feel like I did in 2005 as a high school kid seeing Revenge Of The Sith for the first time. This was absolute redemption for Hayden Christensen. He was able to play Anakin so naturalistic and charismatic in this episode
wow thank you so much! i know i’m not the first to reference her as ahsoka the white (even dave filoni called her a gandalf figure!) but i still love making the connection :)
Good job commander had fun watching this reaction. Seeing anakin in his clone wars armour was amazing it looked great. Cant believe we got 322nd clone troopers in live action and also rex. The actress who played young snips was awesome and was perfect as a younger verson she looked great. The transitions from anakin and vader were so cool loved what they did there. When ahsoka was using the force on the map it also reminded me of cal using force echos. This episode was perfect cant wait to watch it again.
Hands down, loved Obi Wan, but I truly never thought we would see the Clone Wars live action either. Made me feel like a kid all over again with absolute chills. EDIT: and not just Hayden, but everyone has done amazing so far. I'm glad he's finally shining in the light for everything he has done on his journey as Anakin.
I agree 100% with you. Star Wars is back!!! That episode was incredible.. the show is amazing. I cannot wait until next week. FYI your incredible too 😊
Shut up! 😅😅 Loved your reaction Laney! This was amazing and yes, if it was not for Dave Filoni, I seriously doubt Disney could pull this off, REX!!! Man that scene was hype! Jacen will be powerful, beyond his father.. imao, at his age, he could feel the WBW? Incredible. This was fun!
Good job, Commander. So far I think I liked Andor more, overall, but I can get behind this being the best live action Disney Star Wars content that is the most in the spirit of the original and prequel movies.
Good job Commander, he said with a smile. Remember when Anakin told Padme I will become the most powerful Jedi ever - I will even keep people from dying. ...He is the chosen one.
So happy that you got to see it and the same goes for me it was awesome, amazing, epic and groundbreaking getting to see a younger version of Ahsoka Tano from Tales of the Jedi including season 7 Siege of Mandalore was great and we also got to see some Clone Wars flashbacks with Hayden Christian's Anakin Skywalker Clone Wars Armor, Captain Rex's phase 1 and 2 and phase 1,2 Clone Troopers including Ahsoka's Helmets truly marvelous and spectacular 😀👍🏽😎👍🏽😀. I give this episode 10/10 and I can't wait for the next episode next week what do you enjoy about this episode?

yes to everything! the anakin/vader transitions were EVERYTHING! thanks so much for watching!
Hands down, loved Obi Wan, but I truly never thought we would see the Clone Wars live action either. Made me feel like a kid all over again with absolute chills.
EDIT: and not just Hayden, but everyone has done amazing so far. I'm glad he's finally shining in the light for everything he has done on his journey as Anakin.
totally agree! everyone was so amazing and crucial to bringing the clone wars to life :)
First time viewer, have to say I enjoyed your content and subbed. Good job, commander.

@@laneybyers do you have a patreon where we can all support you?
Good job Commander! And... subscribed
thank you so so much!!
YES JACEN IS SO POWERFUL OMG THANKS ERIC
Good job, Commander.
So far I think I liked Andor more, overall, but I can get behind this being the best live action Disney Star Wars content that is the most in the spirit of the original and prequel movies.
thanks so much for watching and sharing your take!
Great job Ms. Laney.... We all know that we will see Ashley Eckstein, and not hear her, before the end of the season!!
thank you so much!!
Great reaction and star wars knowledge deserves a sub! cheers
thank you so much!!!
@@laneybyers Good to watch videos of people that actually know their Star Wars! Let’s hope we see Thrawn in ep6! 🤞
I think the reason Jacen heard the lightsabers is because he has connection to the world between worlds just like Kanan did, he inherited it from her
Good job Commander, watch it a couple more times and enjoy!
thank you so much for watching!
SHE GOT THIS UP NIGHT 1! GOOD JOB COMMANDER! And yesss make another video before Episode 6🔥
I ACTUALLY DID IT IM SO TIRED HAHAHA
You and this was perfection… thank you 🍻
I've just stumbled upon your channel, and you're incredibly well educated on SW! You've gained a new sub :)
thank you so much!!! i’m excited to have someone else to discuss star wars with!
What a bunch of friggin nerds!!! Lol. I cried when the clone wars live action segment came on with young Asoka.
it’s literally our childhoods in live action! so so cool
I need the force theme with Anakin one last time 😂
Such a good episode!!! I’m so glad you got Rex! That was amazing fan service for Capt Rex fans
i’ve been waiting for him for so long🥹
Good job Commander, he said with a smile. Remember when Anakin told Padme I will become the most powerful Jedi ever - I will even keep people from dying. ...He is the chosen one.
Anakin may well be the mortis father now... we'll have to wait and see
PS.... good job commander
Your knowledge is impressive. U got my sub.
wow thank you so much! welcome!
Good job commender! love your reaction!
thank you, and thank you so much for watching!!!
good job commander 😁
thanks for watching!!
So many memorable moments but pause at 6:41 that’s what gets me.
