What was your favorite moment in this mindblowing episode? Comment below!
13:02-14:07 "you lack conviction" "there's hope for you yet" is probably my fav bit
The Anakin/Vader flicker before the final fight
@@thestanleys3657 i started laughing immediately cause I thought of Arnold saying "you lack discipline!" 😆
All of it. This has the feels from start to finish.
Anakin and his clone war general armor
Special credit to young Ahsoka. Her performance was brilliant. This episode was phenomenal. Some of the best SW content we've had
Everything about this episode was beautifully done. Writing, cinematography, fight choreography, acting, directing…it was perfect.
“I will not fight you.”
“I’ve heard that before.” Luke! Return of the Jedi!
“When Obi Wan taught me, we were keepers of the oeace. But now, to win this war, I have to teach you to be a solider.
Ahsoka in TCW S7: “As a jedi, we are trained to be keepers of the peace, not soldiers. But all I’ve been since I was a padawan, is a soldier.”
"I will find them, I promise" - WBW Ezra to Ahsoka : "when you get back, come and find me."; Ahsoka : "I will, I promise". Filoni is the master.
Also in AotC mace says “were keepers of the peace. Not soliders”
@@Nikowgreek yeah, but that’s the one everyone knows
Ahsoka: "I won't fight you" Vader: "Then you will die"
@@jokuvaan5175 she said “I won’t leave you”
Can't wait for Ezra to meet Jacen.
It wouldn’t surprise me if he knows. He probably spent just over a decade meditating in the force, also Obi wan knew about Ezra, so it’s not impossible.
Who knows maybe Ezra will train Jacen when he returns.
@@Squiddy-go1duHOW DID I NOT NOTICE THAT! GOOD OBSERVATION!!!!
It's gonna come full circle, just wait
@connorredshaw7994 I am hoping that is what will happen, it'd be poetic, Ezra becoming master to his Master's son.
17:59 you're the first reactor I've seen notice the dead-pan stare and little eye twitch from Huyang. It's amazing that they managed to do this with a droid of all characters and is a testament to how emotive Huyang has been throughout the show so far.
Might be Haydens best acting preformance ever, imo
well... we all learn with age. he is 42 already, his acting is more mature now. and being Anakin just suits him perfectly, as does lighsaber combat
Absolutely, the best Anakin portayal in the entire saga i'd say. He pulled the best of Matt Lanter's Anakin into his own work, in addition to still being an absolute god with the choreography
@@ragael1024 It's more a matter of better lines and direction
Anakin's "I've heard that before" is what makes me believe that he is the real Anakin. Luke said that to him during their final duel so there's no way he's just a projection of Ahsoka's subconscious since Ahsoka would have no knowledge of that interaction between Vader and Luke.
I tend to agree, but - to play devil's advocate - we do see that in The Book of Boba Fett she's been hanging out with Luke...he could have told her.
In the scene where Jacen and Hera are listening to the waves, we actually hear Kanan's theme from Rebels season 4.
Hits ya' right in the feels.
Also I love how well Hayden transitioned through the different era's of Anakin's life. Adopting alot of Matt Lanter's Anakin in the early clone wars flashback, getting that James Earl Jones cadence when he's embracing the dark side and being more like his good ROTS self for the rest of the episode.
Not to mention how effortless Hayden still wields a lightsaber. Even there you can see a clear difference between Anakin's fighting style while on the light and dark side. More fluent movements from light side Anakin and more heavy, intense strikes from dark side Anakin.
God I love it.
*Fun Fact: The actress who played the young Ahsoka also played the daughter in Barbie earlier this year, as well as young Gamora in Avengers: Infinity War*
She's had a successful few years...
You can tell Anakin's lesson really reached her and its cool how they show it in both her new outfit and personality. Before Anakin she wore darker colors, not full on Black but still dark, and she was trying to think very logically almost robotic like, but then after Anakin she's wearing white and is notably more positive and cheerful
It's one of the thing that kinda bothered me about Rosario's Ahsoka portrayal so far, how she was so melancholy and robotic. Considering all that happend to her it was somewhat understandable, but Ahsoka was never like that even after learning of what became of Anakin. So i'm happy that she's more back "normal" so to speak.
@@TheArrowedKnee We don't know *what* she was like after learning about what became of Anakin - that happened basically as the last we see of her in Rebels, since then, we've only seen her briefly in Mando (and I'd argue in a similar stoic persona), and now here. Let's not forget, the events on Malachor happened 12 years before this time setting - plenty of time for her to basically be alone, mulling over the events, after being pulled out through the WBW
@@scottv1600She also seemed to be frightful of having attachments and emotions as in Mandalorean she refuses to train Groku because of his attachment to Din, referring to how those enotions lead to Anakin's fall. It was all planned out for her character arc by Filloni.
Best moments for me: Hearing Vader's heavy footsteps, flashes of him and Anakin, while saying "you lack conviction" with the iconic modulated voice gave me goosebumps. The same goes for the Vader glimpse we saw during the flashback, when Anakin walked away into battle. ALSO REX!!
I'm so happy that Anakin now, and I genuinely believe that was real Anakin, is like Father-esque figure who has dominion over light and dark sides of the force.
Father of Mortise that is exactly what I'm thinking and Ahsoka is the daughter that why he didn't look like a force ghost
It was the real Anakin. There were hints such as “I heard that before” referring to his fight with Luke in ROTJ.
He's just a force ghost
@@OWmyDragonballzthat line hit me in the feels man 😭
@@SwiftJusticeNah its more than that. He has complete control over the wbw and he has complete control to jump in and out of the dark side at will. A force ghost is a light side thing, I don't think he would be able to do that without some sort of mortis god connection. He's also transforming his appearance at will with the armor flashes. The mortis gods are the only ones who've been able to shift forms like that. So safe to say the theory has some evidence behind it
Hayden’s acting was insanely great!
He had a meaty role and he really sunk his teeth into it. Powerful and subtle where it was needed. A+
@@Shawn_M A+ indeed! 👍
He’s always been a great actor. He just suffered with poor writing in the prequel trilogy
Anakin and Ahsoka bickering was straight out of CW
The actress for young Ahsoka was perfect
The phasing between Vader/Anakin was cool
Got Rex for all of 5seconds 🥳🥳🥳(pretty sure its Tem's voice)
Shout out for senator Organa
This was awesome,Hayden was brilliant, young Ashoka casting was perfect & the de_aging was scary good❤
at first i was on the fence on why hera would bring jacen, but then i remember that chopper is a war criminal and i’m put at ease. there’s no where more safe in the galaxy than with chopper by your side 😂
The line about Anakin hearing “i wont fight you” before is definitely a reference to Luke saying he wouldn’t fight his father. So it has to be force ghost Anakin!
when Huyang says "What!" I can almost see David Tennant's "Doctor"
This is a putting all the pieces in place episode
Hera saying "may the force be with you"
Little Ahsoka was really solid.
Seeing both young and old interact with live action Anikan was truly awesome.
Anakin & Rex are my favorite scenes in the 5th episode.
Luke : I'm looking for a great warrior. Yoda : Oh! Yoda : Great warrior! Yoda : Wars not make one great, heh heh heh!
I got Star Wars KotOR 2: Sith Lords vibes from that episode when Ahsoka was going through her flashbacks
thanks to animation it's sometimes easy to forget just how young Ahsoka was during the Clone Wars, I mean people talk about how young the clones are with their accelerated aging, but we forget Ahsoka wasn't much older
Yeah; it's heart-wrenching to see in this how ridiculously TINY Ahsoka is, especially when the wounded clone puts his hand on hers...
Actress who played young Ahsoka also played young Gamora in the MCU.
This episode was a masterpiece I think Anakin is the keeper of the balance between the light side and the dark as a way to do penance for all the things he did as Vader
No not as penance, because he is the chosen one. He's fulfilling the prophecy. It didn't end when he died. He's taken the place of the father that they met on mortis I believe.
@@loganbrooks1591 true I didn't think about that either way this is why he barely appears as a force ghost
@lordfoul6259 That's how I see it, at least. I think you're right about his force ghost not appearing much.
A couple notes of Battle of the Heroes...😭😭
"I've heard that before", definitely a Luke reference.
Jacen was definitely making Hera hear was he was hearing.
I’m not gonna lie ! This is the best product of the franchise so far !
I enjoyed watching every single minute of this serie .
Where can I fill in the form to have the next series written by filoni?
When Hayden said the word 'about', I thought..."*wait a minute. Is he Canadian?*"
Googled him up and... yeah. He is .Cool!
My Daughter and i Loved this i cried some of best 🌟 Star Wars ever.....
If she killed Anakin there she would have failed the test. The point of the lesson was to beat him without turning to the darkside. Like Luke did.
The whole thing is that Ahsoka needed to let go of her regret and not see her training as a warrior in a solely negative manner. A big part of that is to stop blaming hereelf for Anakin's Fall, to face the Darkside (as Anakin embodies it in his Suitless Vader self), and choosing to live and thrive. Once she chose, Anakin returned to his Light self and acknowledged her choice with what I take as saying she has a future now. He challenged her the way she needed, and she was able to answer that challenge.
Exactly she dwelled on the past and feared for the future.( sound familiar?) He showed her what she needed to see to stop just being a survivor and start living
Great reaction Xelle! This episode was so good. My favorite parts was Anakin VS Ahsoka and also the clone wars flashbacks as well
"Is that what this is aboot?"
"Anakin, I thought you were from Tatooine, Not Canada."
Aha! So glad I'm not the only one who heard that. I didn't know he was Canadian until then.😅
Seeing the bits of Clone wars live action. As well as seeing anakin with a sith saber while not in the suit
Huyang definitely has a personality, especially for being over 25,000 years old
Love the tails. 🥰
Brooooooo Hayden killed this
my fav moment is ashoka's eyes turned yellow for a few seconds when he held anakin's saber.
"nightmare fuel" lol couldn't have said it better...Anakin in that form is literally the scariest thing in the galaxy
If you told me Gaxelle was Stana Katic's daughter, I'd believe you.
You notice that Ahsoka put her face near Anakin. Her eyes turn sith for a second before she collected herself and calm down.
Its her Luke moment, become death and destruction to the end, or step back and choose to live.
Right before Anakin kicks Ahsoka into the present he gets her in the same move he used to disarm Count Dooku. He pauses instead of removing her hands and kicks her instead. Then she uses the same move to disarm him.
Oh man, this episode hit's me like a meteor on the little planet!
The end of this episode got me on the feels the same way the Rogue One ending did....
This episode is so beautiful 😢
You want something even sadder to think about? Following the timeline and lore, Jacen Syndulla was most likely a student at Luke's temple when Kylo Ren snapped and killed everyone. Ahsoka's visit to Luke's temple during it's construction is likely even the time in which she brought the two together. So, ummm....
I feel like Ezra is going to train Jacen
@@brucesnow7125 🤞
What makes you say "most likely"? I’m thinking Ezra may train him.
Last 3 movies means nothing
Let’s not forget, Hera has midichlorians in her.
You may not have noticed during her fight with Vader her eyes briefly turned Sith orange
Another thing regarding Star Wars but on the Mandalorian in Season 3 in episode 3 was the unusually lasting loyalty to the Empire by Elia Kane' s charecter. I appreciate loyalty to a Cause or régime that lasts though hard times, like After Endor, the start of Operation Cinder and the Battle of Jakku and beyond, though of course morally condemning the over-all goals. I realize such opinions May be controversial and I welcome a civlized debate on the subject. Hope to ready your replies!
12:42 Btw, did you know that according to “Bespin Bulletin” there was a fight scene shot between Anakin (as Hayden Christensen) and Ahsoka (as Savannah Steyn instead of Ariana Greenblatt, at least for that scene) on Mustafar in an alternate-reality-like setting during the "world-between-world like" moments, which they said was cut from the actual episode? In that scene Anakin would have showed her that she couldn't have changed his fate to become Vader even if she were there at that point, which would have taken away a lot of her guilt of her not having been there and not being able to save him, resulting in the now more light-hearted Ahsoka. They cut that scene, maybe cause it wasn't really a memory and/or cause Anakin's message/lesson was a different one? Though I still hope they would release it as a separate video on YT or sth like that, cause I would really like to see what that scene (and Savannah Steyn as Ahsoka) would have looked like and it also explains a bit better imo why Ahsoka is more enlightened and happy at the end of the episode.
I feel that Ahsoka’s experiences in this episode are much like Luke’s vision in the Dagobah tree. What’s in there is only what she took with her. Anakin is not a Force Ghost here but instead the “all of him” that lives on with her. She succeeded where Luke failed. They did have the luxury of having an episode’s length rather than just a scene’s to flesh it out and develop the concept further. Could this mean that the tree is also an entrance to TWBW. The water here certainly seems to be one. They could be scattered across the galaxy(ies)!
Don't know if anyone here's said it or not, but, I see a parallel between the final scene of *_The Empire Strikes Back_* in which Lando promises to Leia that he and Chewbacca/Chewie would find Han, and here where Ahsoka promises to Hera that she would find Sabine and Ezra 🤔🤯🥺🥲🤗😉👍😌!
She's step out of the shadows and become Ahsoka the White
I doubt we will see Ezra before the Season Finale
She is now Ashoka the White VERY in tune with the Force
Good shit, Xelle, keep it up
........ : "i thoght you are dead,...........ahsoka..."
ahsoka : " ahsoka......ahsoka the grey they use to call me.........."
ahsoka : " now....i m ahsoka the white, and i came back to ride a purgil and find sabine and ezra...."
ahsoka : " and to kick thrawn ass and his 3 pupets "
Such a damn good episode. Much watery eyes
I took me so long to learn the high ground technique
It's not Ahsoka who will train Jacen. It will be Ezra.
I love how terrifying anikan gets when he unleashes a taste of his vader side he's scarier than the emperor
I've been looking forward to this
So questions or things I noticed 1. When anakin says ‘I’ve heard that before’ after Ahsoka refuses to fight, that was Luke saying that on the Death Star. This is post RotJ anakin. 2 will Luke ever discover the world between worlds? 3. I need the reunion of Luke and anakin post the last Jedi.
i feel like Ezra would be a better person to train Jacen rather than Ahsoka. its just so much more fitting for Ezra to train his master's son you know?
Everything was perfect about this episode, your comment on the reality of war shown, even toned down, is something a lot of people miss when watching The Clone Wars. It's as much about the lasting effects of war as it is the dangers within. Though the political debate aspects aren't as exciting, they're there because it's a major reason why war happens in the first place.
I have a feeling everyone's going to experience the unexpected in the other galaxy.
yes, Ben and Luck said that
I lost my account and had to make a new one i lost ur channel but im glad i got recommended it again
That was anakins force ghost so it really was him.
❤
next stop....Peridea!
Does anyone else realize that this is at least three times Anakin has saved Ahsoka's life? They really love one another. My hot take.
Dave you beautiful bastard, thank you!
This episode was hotter than Anakin burning 9n Mustafar......wait
I know this comment will spark debate, but the clone troopers can not be looked at as children. 😮💨
Yes, the one that the began the war in 23BBY, were 10 years old, but biologically, mentally and physically, they were 20 years old. Thanks to all of the alterations that the kamanoans did the clones, they were practically a new race.
And like IG11 said. At the beginning of Mandolorian, "Each race ages differently." I don't know if that's an exact quote though. So people can't use the standard human template for aging.
Dagnabbit I may have to return to SWTOR and make yet another new character and play it all again...sigh. Im already living legend...theres nothing new for me to do...yet my brain is starting to roll that way. Buggers
Can't wait to see you on grizzy
Why does Ahsoka need a lecture on being a soldier? She fought in the clone wars and for 20 years against the Empire.
Oh, she's just a baby... T_T The jedi were wrong for pushing these kids into a war. The most poweful kids in the universe are still just kids.
Time for a weeping reaction, garanteed! I can see You now, Xelle: " Sob! Sob! I can 't stop crying!" Anyway, lovely episode, nice concept and good dialogue. As ever, I would recomend thoes suggestions I brought up including: The Infographics Show's How The Great Mafia War killed Thousands, How The Roman Army turned men into Warriors, The MetaNerdz Channel' s: Tarkin lore video a complete Canon Life story and The Lore Master's The most Sadest and heartfelt Stormtrooper story as well as Justice the Stormtroopers by Stupendous Wave's Channel. Hope you saw my Film suggestion of Tintin and the secret of the Unicorn produced by Stephen Spielberg. See You all next time.
Why u always so emotional in every reaction😊
Terrible show. Painful viewing. Lucas must feel shame for selling Star Wars.
The fuckin shoulder shrug and the Vader flashes when he steps through the fog gate, plus the music makes this my favourite star wars scene ever.
