I still see this Civic generation everywhere and for good reason. The 8th gens are very well rounded vehicles and will keep going given it's not neglected.
This is by far the best car I've owned. I have an 06 civic (Still 8th gen), and I'm trading it in for a manual. I don't want anything other than this Honda. Their r18 engine are amazing. Its fast and has the best fuel economy. Not to mention you can drive it like an idiot for 300k and you wouldn't have to change anything other than your oil. Japanese engineering at its finest! JDM
Kyle's FireArms Reviews A lot of American vehicles have Japanese parts. That doesn't make them JDM. As I said, JDM means it was manufactured and/or physically sold in Japan. Either way, call it what you want.
I just bought my 2007 Honda Civic LX and got a great deal on it, it’s not a slouch when it comes to exceleration. It’s definitely one of the best cars I’ve bought, no issues, amazing gas mileage and really comfortable on long drives. I love the car
just bought a 2009 civic ex-l , very nice driving car, get 33 MPG, on every re-fill, 77,ooo miles and driving it to 300k, all for 4795.00 dollars. you do meet the nicest people IN a honda
I will only get rid of my 2011 Civic LX if it's totaled. I drive it to Florida from Ohio every year (16-18) hour drive straight and pay $50 in gas. I put an upgraded Rockford Fosgate system in it (speakers, 12" ported subwoofer and 700w amp) which makes the road trips more fun. Also put a K&N Typhoon series short ram intake and Civic SI axleback exhaust and it sounds amazing now. There's no drone and it's not going to piss everyone off, just gives it a throatier rumble when you're getting on it. You can't go wrong with these cars!
These lil 8th gen Civic coupes are the best cars ever decent performance wonderful fuel economy save and fucking Bulletproof 217,000 on mine right now not to mention resale value is worth almost 3 Grand still
I regret having traded in my 8th-gen Civic for a 9th-gen Civic. The 8th-gen has much better driveability (better ride, handling, steering), better looks, styling inside and out than the 9th-gen. Honda really screwed up the 9th-gen.
@887744 If you have an Si, you have a 2.0 4cyl k20z3 dohc i-vtec 6 speed manual. If you have any model other than the Si, such as DX, LX,or EX you have a 1.8 4cyl r18a1 sohc i-vtec 5 speed manual. Yes they are both vtec.
Honda, best manufacturer ever!!! I love my Honda Accord 2004, 2.2 ictdi!!! Amazing car to drive, 20 years later, i cannot imagine how good they were back then!!! Now is 2024!!! Leather inside it’s like new!!!
Honda Civic FG2 owner here. It does in fact need all fluids changed every 75k, timing and tune up at 120k and repeat. I recommend a Hondata Flash Pro for revhang
@TheGamesnewsBR Civic is a regular compact sedan in USA, not too expensive but there are cheaper options in the same segment. Definitely not a car for rich people, just for the average buyer
I love my 8th gen I have a ex fun car and great on gas I remember one time I went to ocean city ,md from jersey only had to fill the tank once the whole trip
My 2009 civic is great and all but the front is a little too low for the roads in my country i bought it pre-owned so idk if any changes have been made and its super reliable we've owned it in the family since 2014

Honda always made the best FWD car in all the world. It might not be the fastest but it have the best handling. You should give the SI a drive before your last decision to buy. VW doesn't the relability of Honda. I'm always for All-Motor cause turbo cars always have lag so it means that it's not that good on the track because whenever your gonna come out of a curve and your at low RPM and the turbo kick in the front tires will spins(with the traction control OFF).Like I said give the SI a drive.
My 2011 civic lx 5 speed turns 175000 miles tomorrow. Bought it brand new, threw on basic bolt ons. And she has been running great since day 1. I couldn’t recommend the 8th gen civics anymore.
Lol wow it's been that long already, she just crossed the 200k mark. I bought 2 other cars so I haven't been driving it as much. But it is still my favorite car to drive!
I did not have the greatest owner experience with my 2010 Civic EX sedan. Seat and interior material quality was pretty average and even with excellent winter tires, it was horrible in the snow. Mechanically, it was excellent.
Most amazing thing on my civic (09 lx) is the paint, man I live in Texas and the sun ain’t no joke, the paint looks brand new somehow, idk wth they used on it but I wish to know
Just got a DX VP for 5K 210K miles and 5 speed manual. Put 300 miles on it in 3 days but this car feels bulletproof and it gets 25mpg i am very happy about this car
sorry but you can't compare the GTI and the SI cause the SI is all motor and the GTI is turbocharge but still both of them are great cars but the SI more fun to drive.
gotta love hondas continuing to build great reliable cars, the new civic is great, even the stock rims arnt that bad, but myself id prefer the u.s. spec si, but i would rather import a jdm spec type r anyday!!
never realized how ugly the rear lights are. thankfully the redesigned civic fixed that. and 0-60 times almost at 10 are always bad. even if its an automatic economy car, you should be getting at least upper 8's. hopefully the new civics torque numbers are a bit higher and help it get there.
We own a 2010 since new, even at 145k miles (not much) it's only needed oil changes, tires and brakes. The only real downside of this car is weak door checkers, and really undersized brakes. They wear out and overheat easily.
@@guardian8319 Yeah it's a base model. Kept it until 190k miles, it went through pads and rotors every 15k miles. Other than that only normal maintenance, never saw the check engine light
When he said they carried over the engine and that was a good thing I laughed. If they only knew about the problems due to engine blocks cracking on the 1.8 2006-2009. Honda's only replacing if it's under 10 years old so alot of people are screwed. Had 2 at my shop this month. Both people screwed. Alot of people have this issue and don't even know. @@jamesbaker1392 yeah 2009 is about ten years old now. Last year for the 10 year coverage. I just think it's funny when magazines say something is so good but it's brand new or only a couple years old. Of course they can't give a forever warranty but when they said it would be covered for 10 years that proved how bad Honda screwed up. So back to the point... not a good idea to carry the engine over and if you have an 09 your almost out of time.
@@trinitycob6617 hey, I checked the Honda website for recalls on an 09 civic I’m gonna look at, and it said “there are no current safety recalls for this vehicle.” Does that mean the cracked engine block issue has been dealt with already for the car?
