Paint looks excellent here, which is more than I can say for the other countless Civics on the road with peeling clearcoat and paint!
toyota corrolla better
a civic will run forever. 80k is young
I replaced my speakers with ones from the 2013-2015 Accord EX-L. They are a much higher quality speaker and sound good. They are about $30 a piece and are 100% plug and play.
aye man, just subscribed! Keep the videos coming! (Just came from the nissan altima video, your voice changed so much lol)
Great Update and video! Have a good rest of your evening!
Thanks!
Awesome video and nice car I just love your spirit keep up the great video and stay awesome dude
Means a lot. Thanks for watching
Your Honda dealer should offer a simple drain and fill of the transmission fluid for about $80. Don't let anyone flush it with a machine, if you go anywhere other than Honda, buy the fluid at the dealer and bring it with you. If the fluid hasn't been changed regularly, do another drain and fill at the next oil change. Draining and filling it only replaces about a 1/3 of the fluid, but flushing it can cause damage. Your videos @ Massey are excellent, I'm going to be purchasing a new Toyota soon and your videos are so thorough and informative, keep up the great work!
THIS ^^^^^
Love these cars so much!!!
I know that this video was made in 2017 and now it’s 2021 and certainly a lot has been happening and transpired since then, but I just saw this video pop up and I thought that I would ask your advice on something. I also had to laugh when you mentioned that gas was under two dollars a gallon back in 2017 when now here in New Jersey gas is $3.25 a gallon since this incredible gas hike we’re going through!
I’m 63 years old, didn’t have much money and had to go out and buy a used car since my old Mitsubishi Galant finally breathed its last at 300,00 miles. This is not exactly the best time to be buying used cars I know but I had no choice. I had very little money and I was able to get a 2009 Honda Civic EX sedan like the one your driving, except mine of course has more mileage on it at 136,000 for $7900. It was owned by one person, a neighbor, no accidents, no long distance driving, she took very good care of it and when I took it to the mechanic he said I got myself a really good car and that if taken care of properly and maintained it should get me up to 300,000 miles, so I’m hoping that it lasts well into the future if I take good care of it. My question is do you have any idea where I can get a replacement visor? I hear that this type of car always has problems with the visor and my driver visor just keeps falling down and there’s no way for me to hold it up and it’s driving me crazy! if I use Velcro I’m gonna wind up ripping the material off of my interior, so I was wondering if you could tell me where I can get a replacement visor. Thank you for your help.
My left turn indicator blew at 79k, however the indicator does warn you a while before by clicking twice as fast as usual. Also my air conditioning doesn't work so I will try and fix it. If not I will wait to get it fixed at a garage. Anyway I don't drive too much due to confinement and only driving to work once a week and the rest working from home. Nice video, good detailed explanation.
u must be so popular with the kids at school! might as well get a sienna to cart everyone around!
I live in Charlestown South Carolina. You'll love it it's beautiful. I'll be getting my drivers license in a few months. And we've been looking at Civics too! Nice car.
Thanks! Good luck on your driving test
I didnt realize how much I kinda of miss living in Kinston until I watched you on Vernon Ave Edit: Also, I like the Niro and have that light memorized now
Mine is on 80,150k Honda civic ishift 2009. Used to hear a clunking sound between gear changes, just did an oil and oil filter and air filter change and I used redex in my petrol tank. Now car is running like new, smooth gear changes, no clunking or deceleration between.
Good car. Looks really nice.
Great video Garrison! The car appears to be quite mechanically sound yet! You should do just fine yet! I will be curious to find out the life of the Pirelli tires! Happy summer driving Garrison! Mark in Iowa.
Thanks Mark!
Looks exactly like mine but mines 2010. I covered up my pillars with a nice shiny black polycarbonate piece that blends in with the windows. Might be worth a try.
Nice video! My aunt still has her 06 Accord with 231k all basically highway driving, no problems at all.
Im seeing more and more 7th gens with 200k+ miles. They seem to be holding up great also, they're such timeless cars.
ThinkOutsideTheCube she bought it used in 08 with like 15k on it.
Nice video! 80,000, that's great, that'll last I bet until 300,000 miles! Just got rid of the Accord with 208,000 miles. Shoutout in next video?
Hopefully, I won't be driving it to 300,000 ha. I saw the ILX on the channel, love that car.
ThinkOutsideTheCube Thank you for watching!
Does the 09 civics got the same engine block leak problem like the 06-08 cause I want one but scared it mess up
I'm still loving my 8th gen at almost 140,000 miles. After owning it for a year and a half and doing brakes, tires, a starter, and an a/c compressor relay I couldn't be more happy. I definitely agree that some extra power would be very much appreciated. I also definitely notice the shaking when at stop lights and drive through's with the air on but for now motor mounts aren't on my list of priorities. Hopefully it holds up for the next 6 years to get me through college. Keep up the videos, they're great, hopefully your Civic holds up too.
Cameron Fulks these cars at garbage ac always failing
Just because the a/c (a luxury feature with no connection to the cars functionality as a means of transportation) tends to fail does not mean that they are garbage.
Cameron Fulks ac is not a luxury feature if they told people here's a new Acura but you can never have ac in it or a new Hyundai Sonata with ac people are gonna choose ac
Options are luxury features, even if most cars have it, some don't and even if most people would choose a car with a/c not every car buyer in the entire world would or could even afford it.
The previous owner had to get the A/C unit replaced in my Civic also, I think it was around 36,000 miles so just outside of warranty unfortunately.
Nice video 🔥
Thanks
ThinkOutsideTheCube No problem man, keep grinding 🙏
Could you comment on the aux connection did you have to do anything extra sorry if I missed that part already😊
LOVE THE NIRO
Did you get the airbag replaced?
If a bulb did go out on your civic, it would probably be the center brake light. I see SO many civics with these out, especially 8th gens and even the newer ones. On my 16 civic it's actually pretty easy to check, just step on the brakes at night and you can see the red glow reflecting off the rear window when it's working.
I've noticed that too recently. I've heard replacing them is pretty simple too, just going through the trunk I think
Are the breaks really sensitive or no ?
I love having leather, heated seats and a moonroof in my CT. But great video as always!
Oh same! I'd say leather is a must for me now
Nice video, I enjoy the 09 Civic updates. Where did you purchase the white interior lights?
Thanks! Got them on eBay
+Frankie Preza eBay
Please do family cars update video!
where was the 75k video
"water" & "sodas" in a cooler.. at the beach... sure!!!
3rd owner of an used 2009 civic ex in the north with 130k miles, runs just fine w some rust on the back but that’s really about it
Still good?
What school are you going to. Love the new Niro and Ioniq. Both don't use cvt's and Ioniq actually gets better mpg and both look much better than the Prius
To each their own! I'm sure they're all solid cars, just comes down to personal preference. I will be going to UNC Wilmington.
Nice what tint percentage do you have ? Plz answer huge fan
35%, the legal limit in NC. Thanks for being a fan
Do you work for a Honda dealer?
How long do civics last? Just got a 2018 silver civic lx, hoping it will last ten years compared to Chevy volt
is it an automatic or manual?
Awesome video man! Did you just put your phone/camera under the headrest when you did the driving clip?
Yeahh, I used my iPhone 7 and the optical image stabilization made it look weird. I'm pretty sure the OIS was trying to counteract the natural vibration of the car which gave it that weird wavy effect. I might try to find a cheap iPhone 5S or iPod Touch on Ebay I can use for driving clips that don't have OIS.
SOLD?
Are you ever gonna make videos again
Hardwiring my radar detector was one of the best things I did to my truck. I still need to do my dash cam though.
It probably wont be fun to do but I'll be glad when it's done.
Its not too bad. Running the wiring was the most tedious part because I used an Escort smart cable with a mute switch mounted right by my fuse box since it's on the left side under my dash. Overall it's not too bad as long as you can find a decent ground.
What are your thoughts on the 2018 Camry?
Definitely has unique styling, front grilles remind me some of the Lexus spindle. I am glad however they're sticking with NA engine options.
as in sams club?
also these cars like to chew up rear tires.
can you do an updated review on your dad's Denali please thanks
yeah garrison where's the denali
Why my passage air bag light some time on some times off?
Probably the sensor for the airbag under passenger seat or yellow wire harness
What about the engine block leakage i’ve heard about??
2010 & 2011 does not have this issue
hi can i buy this car from you?
Honda bulbs never go out. 07' accord with 257k and never replaced headlight nor high beam. Only one DRL.
Wow that's insane (in a good way)
I would try heavy duty magic eraser on the floor mats.
I'll have to give it a try!
My B pillars aren't like that yet, I mean for an 07 I'm surprised 😂
Consider yourself lucky!
ThinkOutsideTheCube Had the car for about a week now, just passed 83,600 miles, got my Takata airbag replaced and it's genuinely an amazing car!
What is wall greens?
@Slave of my maker ohhhhhh ok
where is the update for the Lexus ES!!!!
Going to do a 30,000 update on it! Currently at 28,300
How many mileage can this car go? I mean maximum mileage? Thank you
Mine is 270 k
Thank you
My 09 black pillars look perfect still
That's rare! How many miles?
I bought it in 2015 with 69k now I got 110k I drive far for work
i subscribe to your channel i like your videos
+Damian videos Thank you!
ThinkOutsideTheCube your welcome
Re: Kia Niro: My wife liked them. If they had come out a few years ago, we would have maybe gotten one when the Prius got hit.
The Sock Monkey! I wanted one but I couldn't keep my old car any longer and they didn't come out yet when I got my new car back in December.
You have 8k more miles than I have on my 2008 Odyssey with PAX
Love that generation Odyssey
Quiero un Honda civic
Had to show off that wallet 😂😂

Maybe they’re are some debris in your blower Motor
Do you like Hyundai?
Did I ask you?
Don't get me started
ThinkOutsideTheCube have you seen a Ford Aerostar?
ThinkOutsideTheCube can you do a review on a 1991 Ford Aerostar Eddie Bauer? if you find one in good shape please
ThinkOutsideTheCube Why don't you like Hyundai?
Wait I thought he had like a 2014 civic. Didn't he?
Tanner M Nah it's a 2009 Honda Civic.
I wish
ThinkOutsideTheCube hey Garrison nice Honda and can you please make a Video of a 1991 Ford Aerostar Eddie Bauer? That would be greatly appreciated!
You should do a Q&A
I've considered it in the past
Time for a trade in
Haha I wish
I wouldn't trade it till you can get it drive down to nothing. See how many miles you get the most out of it. Imagine, 400,000 plus or 500,000, 600,000. Sounds impossible... but would be cool to say
It's a Honda. Anything Japanese, if your replacing things before 150K, you've bought a lemon.
Still looks better than the current gen civic IMO. Current model is just too big
Can you give me a shoutout please
No Jetta 🤮
