Anita, I went to Club El Tibiri on Carrera 70 during my visit to Medellin earlier this month. The place is as you have described. It's a dimly lit basement night club. However, I had the time of my life. The music was great and people were very friendly. I left the club 3 am in the morning soak and wet after dancing Salsa and Bachata all night. Love this place!
Im glad!!! Yesss El Tibiri looks awful but the people and music are the best in Medellin!!! I also went out soaking wet and even the ceiling was dropping everyone sweat... Was a disgusting pleasure of just let yourself go and enjoy.
I love your Videos on Colombia, As a Gringo who wants to go love your tips on do's and don'ts when it comes to Colombia. I do want to eventually find a Colombian Woman for my Wife. But other than that would love to go to Colombia and see the Culture and Learn more about Colombia its self :)
Such a sharp perceptive young lady! A wonderful representative of Colombian kindness and thoughtfulness. Looking forward to visiting Medillin in August.
Thank you Anita, very good advice. I have visited Colombia several times and very much like the country and the people... and appreciate your counsel for making my experiences even better. Thank you.
Anita, you are a gentle soul. If only all people in the world were like you, amiga, the world would be a better place. Thank you for your advice, because I am planning a trip to Armenia and Manizales this year. I look forward to learning more about your beautiful country. I will try not to give away my papayas. 😜

@@colombiawithanita ...Con mucho gusto....and you're right about the bees with honey. My experiences in Colombia were awesome. Treat others as you want to be treated...fairly easy..as Colombians are helpful and eager to treat their guests with respect. And if you can speak spanish then you're dialed in...if you just try to speak spanish your time there will be fantastic....there are exceptions i am sure but I can;'t say anything but good times
Thank you very much for all you assistance. I am Married to a Colombian woman and we are waiting for her visa so in the meantime i travel alot to colombia its a very wonderful country Thanks again
She is going to get her citizenship and leave you for someone from her country..trust me. I have seen it 100% of the time. No only with latinos but other people from other countries that marry Americans. I tried to warn my friend and she thought I was being a hater. 10 years later he left her for a woman he met when he visited bogata. 3 months after their divorce he married the Colombian woman and bought her and her daughter to the United States. My neighbor was with a Puerto rican man for 15 years never got married. He left her and married a Puerto Rican girl within 3 months. My co worker married a woman from Nigeria 5 years later she left him and moved to New York to be with a Nigeria man. I just saying like I told them. Most people from different cultures secretly prefer to be with their own even the families will encourage them to be with someone from the same culture after thier receive citizenship..not in all cases but 99.9% of the time they want and the families know they marry Americans for citizenship and not for lOVE the families benefit from this as well..
I am American I will only marry someone from a foreign country if they are already a citizen of the United States..A lot of Americans are opening their eyes to this..
codes in salsa vary a lot in different venues, sometimes nobody cares about anything, but it places where ppl know each other very well, like really dedicated salsa places, guys can watch sometimes for divas who reject an average looking fella and accept *right away* a prettier/younger one. once *this* happens, solidarity may kick in. you're better at least stay till *another* dance pretending being tired after your bounce a guy... also, in a salsa salsa places ppl actually like new faces 'cuz they keep dancing with the same for a long time, sometimes for years (in europe/us sometimes for 10-20 yrs :-)), i'll depends on how confident you're, ppl who live on dancefloor for years are *sensed* by others alike, and are accepted anywhere anytime...
I never want to be rude. My philosophy is “Friends are waiting to be met, enemies must be made “. SO everyone I meet is a friend unless they prove otherwise.
Laureles is a good neigbourhood, still i don't recommended to make new friends. Is nice area, still more traditional and with older population. Is people who had high income and stayed there but their kids left their nest. Maybe La floresta close to thebstadio y la 70 is a great area, Belen Parque or further up where ypu can even make friends from other countries: el Poblado.
Anita, my husband and I are from United States and we don't speak Spanish. Do you think we will be a target for crime if we come to Colombia? We do not want to be robbed by taxi drivers or other people who can see we don't speak Spanish...

The best things are the bad things. Let's be honest the lack of policing allows you to focus on drugs and women. That's the only advantage they have so I can respect the culture short term manly for the bad things because it's an undeveloped slow and dated country
