You should know that a lot of what American people know about different cultures, we have not had a lot of personal experiences with people different from nationalities. A lot of what we know about people from different countries (even though they could live next door) comes from the media and what we watch from TV. Most of us know about the movie Scarface where he bought cocaine from Colombians. .so that's what people who don't know real Colombians associate with the country. People will stereotype. Not all Jamaicans smoke marijuana, Not all Haitians practice Voodoo, not all Chinese people know Kung Fu, not all Cubans smoke Cigars, not all African Americans like Watermelon.. it is important that your husband teach you about the history of Black Americans. I think your English is wonderful and very clear. Also don't get frustrated with the American culture. This is a very sexualized culture , even the way you interact with children may seem sexually suspicious. I have traveled to different countries and noticed that people in different countries especially Spanish are very friendly, affectionate and family oriented, but it is different in America , interaction between the opposite sex can be awkard, because nobody really believes in normal friendly interaction between man and woman, it is sad.. but congratulations and stay strong... @Anita

My lady speaks Spanish but she learned from school and her friends from Mexico. But around my family things get lost in translation and she thinks my family does it on purpose. My woman speaks very good english and I can understand her when she speaks. She speaks to me in english and I speak to her in spanish majority of the time because its all about staying proficient. She has a 10 year old daughter I love her so much like she is my very own.I am paying for her english lessons so we can communicate more effectively. I want to be involved in her life and I want her to be able to just talk to me without feeling shy. One important thing maybe two things jejeje. It is very important to know what offends people and I went through the same thing with one of her family members saying things behind my back and my woman is telling me what is being said. I was very proud of my woman because she is protecting me and telling her family member not to say those things especially about a man who she loves and is going to marry. Some people are closed minded and don't have the opportunity to know someone from a different culture. It has been about a year without any incidents from this particular family member and I couldn't believe that the individual started crying when I was leaving to go home because I made her daughter happy. Now this individual shows me so much love . The word negro and hearing people call me that in colombia i was offended but I realized it was just a term of endearment. In the United States this word is not and is filled with hatred. Sometimes i would witness white people call each other that and I just look and just walk away. Your son really likes the camera. I don't see anything wrong with your English the way you a talking right here on this video it's like you've been talking English all your life so if you're having any difficulty speaking or understanding English why not go to an English school or get an English tutor that's the only solution I can give you on that problem. I've gone to Colombia before as a child but I did not pick up the language. My mother, as you can guess, is born and raised in Cali, the port city of Buenaventura. Long story short, in December I will be visiting Cali again but with my mother. So in the meantime I plan on educating myself on the side of my heritage I care very much about but have little to no deep knowledge of.
