      Hani Meb I live in the United States but I am 🇪🇹 and am not habesha. Habesha means those who descent from the Abyssinian kingdom or empire. You see you said Ethiopia as a whole and Ethiopia is diverse so not all Ethiopians are habesha . So please remember that. So I advise you to say northern Ethiopia and Eritrea 🇪🇷.

    I’m Egyptian. I was in Ethiopia weeks ago. It’s one of the most beautiful countries I’ve ever been. The people are the beat part of the country; loving and amazing. Yes, I tried “Ketfu” raw meat, Enjira bread and Qutch’u. Adding to what you mentioned, Amena, honey. Is one of the most delicious I’ve ever tasted. God bless Ethiopia.

      Omar Hussien Bro, the most stupid act ever a country can take is to assault a neighbouring country. This goes both ways, by the way. This stupid conflict will sooner or later end. It’s just stupidness driven by politicians to be in power. We both nations have to try to know each other and you’ll be so much surprised how much the politicians put us in illusions to hate each other for their own benefits.

    In the American South, women from Ethiopia are sought out for their skill in beautiful and unique hair braiding. I took my daughter to their hair shop and left her. When I returned I was surprised to see 3 women braiding her hair at the same time. One was braiding the top, one was braiding the middle and one was braiding the back. The braids were so tiny and neat, and curved and shaped, like art. They were quiet and humble with peaceful personalities.

    Hi Amena- I've always found Ethiopia fascinating too. I got to go there in 2002, and I had a wonderful time. I went to Axum, Lalibela, Bahar Dar, Gondor, and Addis. I was living in Thailand at the time, and my Thai friends were very intrigued to hear that it was never colonized, since Thailand was the only country in South East Asia that was never colonized. I'm lucky I live in San Diego, where we have a lot of Ethiopian people (and restaurants).

    1.Ethiopia => it was the name given for darker color people in Egypt, Sudan , Yemen and northern Ethiopia.
    2.Abissinia => the former Name for Ethiopia
    3. Habesha => an Arabic word for Northern Ethiopia (Amhara) , Tigria, and Eritrea. Now , habesha works for all Ethiopians because of intermarriage.
    4. Geez => The former Ethiopian language
    5. Amharic => Amharic language became the official language of Ethiopia in the 10th century. Amharic evolved from Geez, Tigria, Arabic, Hebrew, etc..
    6. Ethiopian number System :
    1••• ፩ ••• አንድ
    2•••• ፪•••• ሁለት
    3•••• ፫••• ሶስት
    4••••• ፬•••• አራት

    • @selammesfin47
      @selammesfin47 7 лет назад +3

      binalfew Amharic did not evolve from Geez, Arabic or Tigregn. Amharic is more similar to Arggoba, Hadere and Guragegn than Tigregn. Amharic use to actually be written in Sabean Alphabet before it adapted Geez alphabet.
      Abyssinia is actually the name of Amhara people. Amhara means free people in Geez, Abyssinia is driven from an old Turkish/ Arabic word which means free or independent people.

    • @selammesfin47
      @selammesfin47 7 лет назад +2

      Also the name Ethiopia did not come from the Greek word that means "sun burned people" instead it came from the Aetopis Dynasty, the dynasty that ruled the region after the fall of the Cushite Dynasty. The Greek came to used the term Aetopis to refer to sun tan people because of this.

      binalfew The Arabs used the name Habesha not only for Amharas and Tigrays but for all Ethiopians. The Gurages, the Oromos, the Haderies, the Arggobas, the Agews, the sidamos, the Hadiyas etc all are Habesha. But in Ethiopia, we never used that word. It is mainly used by Arabs and diasporas aboard.

      I've recently came into the knowledge that Jesus was born in a cave in Ethiopia. Something tells me that their is truth in this legend. I think this should have made the top of the list if this legend is true. Have you heard of this legend? Also, what about Moses wife being Ethiopian. I think that also should have been on the list, but I'm not Ethiopian so what do I know. I do know that the African Americans, which I am, are the true Hebrews of the Bible so we have some amazing history ourselves. In ancient times the Hebrew, the Egyptians, and the Ethiopians were in the same general region of northeast Africa. This is the reason why some Hebrews married Ethiopian and Egyptian women. We were all black, but from different tribes sort of speak. This is how the Hebrew bloodline came into the Ethiopian population in ancient times and Jesus was in this same bloodline. It's the bloodline of the prophets. They were all Hebrew. Enoch played a key role in the Hebrew doctrine. So historically, African Americans and Egyptians(not the arabs you see today) and Ethiopians really have a long history together. Unfortunately, due to war and other jealous cultures many Hebrews were killed and many led from NE Africa and went deeper into Africa and settled in west Africa and the Africans their didn't understand our North African culture and ways and saw us as different and we were captured and sold into slavery to the Europeans and I'm you heard of the atrocities from their on. But African Americans, our original homeland is Israel in NE African. We are East African as well. We are really Hebrew by bloodline. But have you heard of Jesus being born in a cave in Ethiopia??? Is this common knowledge among Ethiopians??? I've read, after much research, that the original bible had the birth of Jesus in Ethiopia but changed it to Bethlehem. I wonder why? I know why?

    • @sundara26
      @sundara26 7 лет назад

      Well, in your estimation what is the percentage of Ethiopians today that have Hebrew genealogy. I'll wait for your answer before I share the genetic studies that I have come across. I would say though that in western Africa it's very high and in AA it's very high, 80 percent or better in AA. Interestingly, in Saudi Arabia today roughly 10 percent are of Hebrew lineage. Obviously, their were some black males mixing with Arab women.

    • @mariammag2460
      @mariammag2460 7 лет назад +2

      what I don't get is why are black American after Ethiopian history? Egypt's? Sudan? Hebrew? what's wrong with you people?

    • @sundara26
      @sundara26 7 лет назад +1

      Again, for the last time, AA are concerned with the Hebrew people of ancient times, not Ethiopians. Hebrew people were not Ethiopians. Period. Some Ethiopians have Hebrew lineage due to the fact that some mixing took place, but Hebrew is not their original bloodline. So how can you say we are after Ethiopian history. Ethiopian were a completely different tribe than the Hebrew tribe. I really don't hear AA talk about Ethiopians at all if you really want to know. All the prophets of God were Hebrew, this is very clear. In that area of the world anyway. You had greats in India of course which I also study seriously. I just follow where my spiritual studies take me, that's it.

And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship. => so Philip met the Ethiopian on the street between Jerusalem and Gaza. Accept the facts bro, Yemen was ruled by Abyssinians and they've build a big church there, then the pagan Arabs desecrated it by pooping in it so the Abyssinians marched to Mecca to destroy the Kaaba but the Arabs begged their Persian allies for help to save their pagan house, however when the Arabs conquered Persia and they started writing their Quran in the House of Wisdom they couldn't say the Persian people who they conquered and subjugated saved their holy place in the past, it was humiliating, so they lied and wrote in the Quran that birds with stones saved the Kaaba. LOL.

Bob Marley has tied Ethiopia and Zimbabwe through his Rastafarian Movement and his song ''Zimbabwe'' once and for all. ruclips.net/video/RFLG6CH2KBY/видео.html Not only that, but our ex-president is living in Zimbabwe. Mugabe is his friend. Though Mengistu Hailemariam, Ethiopian President, was a dictator, We loved Zimbabwe since our childhood. And more Importantly, Since I am Christian, I would love to visit Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa. Though Some Zimbabweans doubt his grace, he is promoting Zimbabwe to the outside world in a good way. And, I forgot to mention that our to beloved two countries have almost identical (Mirror-image of one another) map structure.
