Hi Miguel, you are right, our friends who are southafrican citizens don't need a visa to enter Colombia. But to calm your fears, I'm attaching you a link from the immigration Colombia and to the left are the names of the countries in alphabetic order and to the right there is a row that says "Colombia les exige visas" which means Colombia ask for the visa, if you find that the x in the row that says si which means yes in Spanish then, you need a visa to enter Colombia and if is in the one that says no then you don't need a visa to enter Colombia. In Spanish Southafrica is written as Sudafrica. Examples, pay stubs , flight info, the address where she would be staying , banks statements , birth certificate etc. also, she would need to make an appointment at the nearest us consulate. The whole process can take about two to three weeks.

Well, United Sates citizens dont need to get a visa to travel to Colombia therefore they have no a restricted nationality. Just need the passport and pass by immigration when reached Colombia for their holidays
Oh yes for northamerica is only neccesary the passport, still you pass throught inmigration and they will ask you what are you doing there but is not a biggie, they do it with everyone and takes less than 1 minute
