    Just got back from Medellin and Cartagena. had a great trip. did not go out late at night so we had no problems at all. Great food, nice people in general.

    I am going to Cucuta next year for the first time. I lived in Venezuela for 10 years though. Whenever, I was confrunted being alone, drunk at night, I would go straight up to them asking if the wanted anything in an aggressive manner in my barrio spanish, and they would run.

    tip 6: don't use drugs
    tip 7: don't go for hookers
    tip 8: bring ur family, stop travelling alone (family trips are 100% better)
    tip 9: enjoy!

    I'm 18 and want to solo travel to Cartagena, I'll only stay in the city but wanted to know if it's safe. I'm a US Citizen and will go to Colombia in November.

      Be VERY careful in Cartagena as it's known as the worst for the dangers I mentioned for tourists. Don't let others know your traveling solo. If you get the chance I'd explore other areas of Colombia as well. Cheers!

    No dar papaya, try to be with locals or friends, stay a way of lady’s i you don’t know them, keep your self on safe places, ask for the price of products before you have it food beer any thing else, don’t let your drinks on your table if you’re going to the bathroom keep always your eyes on your drinks. Don’t wear flashy staff.

Don't think you are smarter than a pick pocket. Flour in your hair. These are great tips. I recently did a video about Colombia myself. Very cool. Very cool. You did a good job with this one. Great video! I have just subw3scribed to your channel. So congrats, you just gained another one. I am an advocate on this platform for engaging with others and supporting one another. And returning love and reciprocating feedback. I think that kind of community on here is what we need. Hey, if there were a lot more people like me on here, you might have an extra 400 friends and fans to your channel, right now. Extra. That is the community I'm encouraging people to help me build.       Some areas certainly, both are big countries with lots of different regions, cities, etc.

    You haven’t travelled much if you think no country is safe. Try places like Dubai, UAE and China. You can walk around in china drunk, alone and at night ANYWHERE in ANY city and not be in danger.

      Safe areas = Most of Europe, UAE, Japan, SK, Singapore, Canada, Australia. Large areas of China are in a state of a third world country and it's not a traveller friendly destination.

      @@BonVoyage861 agreed with your list except AUS and CAN. there are shady parts of sydney and melbourne. don't know where in CAN you were but toronto and vancouver have loads of criminality, drug abuse and homelesness. rural china is 3rd world but not unsafe. EU has lots of pickpockets. I had 3 attempts on me in Paris alone, but they were non-violent unlike confrontations in the US/UK.

      @@BonVoyage861 yeah, safe compared to the south bronx but dangerous compared to any east asian or middle eastern city. you can't cherry pick nice areas in an OK city and declare it safe. you can drop me anywhere in China and I will have no fear or being assaulted or killed or robbed by another person.

I can walk in any neighbourhood at any time dressed any way, in my 1 mill pop city and feel absolutely safe. Good luck to you.
