Medellin is a massive city that has so much to offer and having only a few days in the city is nowhere near enough time to see everything! funny enough my latest overseas trip was a month in Istanbul and one of those weekends i had a chance to stay in an Airbnb in Cappadocia
i have to say i loved it so much, stayed in beyoglu for the majority of my stay and what a time, greeting from Mexico.

I lived in Medellin for exactly 1 year, Sept 04, 2012 - Sept. 04, 2013 before moving to Ecuador and now I have been in Peru for over 5 years. Medellin was the greatest experience of my life. I only knew 2 words of Spanish when I moved there, hola & adios and immediately enrolled in the language program at EAFIT Universidad. Hope to return there soon with a Peruvian woman for her and I to learn each others language.
yeah met to, i was also in peru, in cusco mostly and around there. then went to medellin, feel in love with it, now im saving to go buy and apartment in the best locastion, next to the botanical garden, im so in love with the metro, the culture, food and nature, and good all year weather, i feel like a literal idiot now that i know this living somwhere else. lol ill check this eafit, if your back, we could meet. your spanish is perfect by now i guess.

Hey Chris. nice video, thanks for showing a different side of Medellín.
We are doing expeditions to different places in Colombia, mainly remote areas, accessible by 4x4.
One of them, is in Magdalena Medio (Puerto Triunfo) 4 hours from Medellin. The trip usually takes 3 days, we have different experiences: freeing little turtles a the river, have lunch by the river, get to visit 2 waterfalls and do a cool rafting in Río Claro, these are really beautiful places.

@@erikwhitebeard79 That's awesome enjoy. A lot of people stay in Poblado but personally I prefer Laureles as it is more flat so it's easier to walk (Poblado is very hilly) also Laureles is more of a mix of locals and expats. So you get more of a traditional Colombian feel

Nice and informative video other than I live in El Centro and the dangers you describe are no worse than in any other part of the city except for at night.
modellin is the best city in the world right now, most vibrant culturally diverse and open, creative and expressive and tolerant and giving. im so impressed at the transformation they have done im leaving my home to move there asap, i just got back from my first visit, and im just aching to get back and finaly feel home somewhere with real people. im moving there soon, i cant wait, i love my country but medillin is better then in my dream what i hoped .

I'm from Colombia and I have to say Medellin is by far one of the best cities in the country. The only risk you will face is that you may want to stay there.

Skip Bogota and go to Medellin. i spent 1 month in each city.Traffic is ridiculous in Bogota and gets cold at night ,being 3,000 feet higher than Mile high city of denver,co.

@@trpxdhd It was amazing thanks my friend, I took the advice to skip Bogota and went to Medellin, Barannquila (got extorted by police there for 200 dollars 😅) Cartagena and Santa Marta. Gotta say it was a chaotic trip but I loved it, especially taganga and tayrona national park 😎

Loved the video Chris! I've been doing a ton of research on going to visit Colombia by next summer. Either would be visiting Medellín and Guatapé or Bogotá first, then maybe go visit Cartagena or not. Plan on staying for 2-3 weeks possibly most likely solo travelling! Any recommendation of places I should go visit, or try out? Thanks!

Just go lmao , stop listening to friends, if I did that I would've never gone anywhere. Seems like the whole world is scared of places they are not from.
Colombia is extremely safe, just keep an eye out and don't walk around looking like a bag of money and you will be just fine!
Plus the nightlife is the best part about Colombia 😜

Another Great wholesome video! Everyday I’m hearing about the druggings robberies etc but I’m from the Bronx New York and it’s way worst! Shoot at least from what I’ve heard in Colombia they threaten you before they take your stuff! Most people here don’t give that option! Shoot first and then take! I really been looking to visit Medellin again.
Last time I was there was back in the mid 90s with my parents visiting relatives. It was VERY dangerous at the time for visitors.
Now I'm 39 yrs old and really want to fall in love again a city I enjoyed visiting the first time.

Pueblito Paisa is amazing, I love it especially for the hiking trails to get to the top. When you go, make sure not to go straight to the top by car, do the hike as you'll find amazing nature and well-maintained infrastructure, you'll even come across some contemporary art pieces.
I loved puebloto paisa especially as the sun is going down 😊

Parasailing in Bello, and horseback riding in the Alps to pick coffee in near Caldas/Buena Vista were other goods ones! You definitly missed out San Felix combined with the cerro el picacho, the paragilde in San Felix costs between 30-40 dollar and on the way back to la Aurora you can get to the cerro el picacho to take your colombian cristo picture
There is more to do in Bogotá and vicinity than anywhere else so for your first trip go to the capital.
