Great to see you using our old photolog footage, that we converted to video, again David. Your 2016 video, Prince Rupert to Terrace: Then and now, is a beauty too: ruclips.net/video/egOY7TMyGfk/видео.html For more information about why and how we captured those images, see: www.tranbc.ca/2014/08/22/drive-a-highway-in-15000-photos/
Absolutely amazing! I moved here in 96 as a kid and while not as long ago as 1966, the old images is definitely how I remember Canada from my childhood. Just add a couple more randomly strewn brown wooden houses, gas stations and big box stores (THE BRICK) and its pretty much exactly the same
The coquitlum stretch of lougheed would suck so much if it were still a 2 lane road. Its also interesting that one of the few recongizable landmarks in both videos is riverview hospital.
sooo, basically, for anyone interested in successfully using a time machine, Lougheed would be a good reference so they don't get lost, or teleport under some hi-rise. Just try to stay to the center of the road :)

I absolutely loved this video. Seeing how much things changed and developed from then to now was so interesting to see. Thank you for sharing 😊
I grew up in Burnaby in the 60's & 70's I lived on Grandview Hwy which became Canada Way and remember this drive well, it was an adventure back then .
Thank you for this. I grew up in Maple Ridge in the 70s and we commuted into Vancouver. This video helps me remember those old days gone bye.

Great job, Dave! Now I'm watching the rest of these!
This is great! I remember this drive when i was a kid in the early 70s, wow things have changed !!
Beautiful, thanks for sharing 👏👏

Very cool
In the past, many more trees 🌲 🌲 🌲
Sad to see it now. :(
The 2020 drive must have been done at a low traffic time because the Lougheed at most times of the day is far more crowded than this shows.
The original Google Street View!
imagine no investment into mass transit. density along these corridors wouldnt exist
The density happened long before mass-transit. Only now is it becoming more dense due to transit.
60’s not bad at all
These videos show how ridiculous our infrastructure is.
1960 population - 620k
2020 population - 2.6m
"Let's add 1 lane in some areas"
This shows how we need to grow the economy and double the population again. High-density living is healthier than sprawl.
Your joking...right?
