    Canadians/Americans are eligible for NEXUS which speeds up border crossings. It costs $50 for 5 years and they check your background to see if you are a trusted traveller. NEXUS is useful if you live in a city near the Canada/US border or if you travel frequently between the two countries. It can also be used at the airport for travel between Canada and the United States.

    Very cool to see an American enter the U.S. . Very different than my experience as a Canadian. Definitely more questions than I typically would get. Sorry for the delay it is a beautiful drive- I think that is one of the busiest border crossings. The other B.C. ones I’ve been to aren’t usually very long. But I’m also a Nexus member. You should come to Calgary during Stampede in July!!!

      as an American based on a few trips especially most recent its easier to get into Canada than back to own county. Going into Canada border agent took like 30 seconds, going back U.S. took like 5 minutes way more questions trying to go back home

    Action Kid - I used to work for Customs at the border at Zero Avenue and 264 street in another part of Surrey. It was never busy, either on the American or the Canadian side. If you had driven 30 minutes East you would have had a much faster trip. That's the Aldergrove BC/Lynden WA crossing.

    1:00:53 New Jersey plates! Yeah, next time take the Pacific crossing. I used to take the bus up and back, and they always took the Pacific point-of-entry. The guard would usually say, "Welcome back."

    You were lucky, you had a nice border agent. Normally the agents are not nice, they have an attitude about things that's why I always have s surprise waiting for them in the trunk when they open it so they don't search for long. Going into to Canada the only time I had a lot of questions was when I had an eastern Canadian other than that they couldn't be bothered. Thanks for the video.

    AK, you mentioned you are a Global Entry cardholder. A tip for you. Global Entry cardholders can use the Nexus lanes at land crossings for entry into then USA. Cannot use Global Entry cards for entry into Canada via the Nexus lanes.

    • @ActionKid
      @ActionKid  Год назад +3

      I’m not sure I can do this. It says Nexus is a separate program.

    • @adamjosephyoungdokim7667
      @adamjosephyoungdokim7667 Год назад

      @@ActionKid @Ozabald1 is right! Yes The only difference is that u can’t just use ur global entry when crossing the border into Canada but when returning to the USA global entry card holder can use the NEXUS lane ! For example if u frequently travel to Canada as well u can simply add NEXUS to the program ^^

    Whew, you had to wait an hour just to cross the border! 🤯 1:54:42 It was interesting to hear the interrogation, sounded a bit intimating, but I'd say it went through pretty smoothly. I see they still check the trunk nowadays, and that's how my parents got caught with the lychees back then. 😂 2:40:40 Traffic 3:05:30 More traffic! 3:19:53 Hope the people are okay. 🙏 3:20:57 You're not amused at all at this point with the traffic. 😅 Your thumbnail summed up your frustrations for this video. 😆 Thank you for sharing this long drive back to Seattle, AK! 🤗

    Honestly, it wouldn't have been the Pacific Northwest travel experience if you'd be able to get through the border quickly and have a fast drive on BOTH legs of the trip! 😆 That is the busiest border crossing, so an hour's wait on the weekend is not unreasonable. I've seen it stretch to three hours. As others have mentioned there are several other crossings that are far less busy, such as that Lynden / Aldergrove one. It puts you on Guide Meridian, which takes about 25 minutes to connect with the I-5 in Bellingham. Lynden is a lovely little town, agriculturally based and Dutch influenced. At one point a bakery there received an award for the best pie in the United States. The Customs Agent didn't really ask anything out of the ordinary - they may get suspicious for someone from so far away to go into Vancouver for a very brief visit (particularly to the downtown - sort of the epicenter for drug issues). I'm also betting it may be the first time anyone's told them "social media / influencer" when asked what their job is 😀

I will be flying in there from Europe in June and was dreading having to wait nearly an hour on line like I once did in Atlanta....shift change-over I believe:) From what I've read, the worst airports for customs wait and processing times are JFK, LAX, Newark, O'Hare, and Atlanta.
