What a coincidence this was posted in March. My novel, Memoirs of Spurius, was just published and may be the only novel about the Bacchic Conspiracy. Excited this story is finally reaching the public, Dan. --D. Laszlo Conhaim
A family inheritance, religious intrigue, crime and investigation, conspiracy and moralism... Now I know where we Latin Americans get our love for novellas. Joking aside, what strikes me about this is how it shows the Roman love of legal proceedings. Not even a secret sex cult can keep them from turning the story into Law&Order: Bacchic Victims Unit.
Gripping tale of the rooting out of incipient decadence and pernicious foreign influence. Read with strong moral fortitude, I felt like the case was being made in the most forceful and convincing way! More compelling than any Netflix series, and more edifying into the bargain. Based and women-in-chains-pilled.
On the one hand, it sounds like just one more moral panic among many. On the other hand, the starting as rites for women and then becoming corrupt has similarity to the history of the incels.

don't tempt me with a good time
Sounds like fun, but I'll comment anyway!

I love conspiracies Dan you're really speaking my language now
A video about the Bacchanalia scandal on the first day of Anthesteria? You've got a sense of humor!

There was murder/sacrifice involved!
Wine, a weekly congregation, a threat to rome. You have no idea how enigmatic that text is.
I'm keeping this as an all time favorite
Found this randomly after being deep in many cups. Was well pleased. Consider myself a natural priest in the Dionysian Rites.
This was super interesting! I clicked on it randomly and I'm glad I did. The world is so different and yet not so very.
The wine must have inflamed my mind. I heard "the BACKACHE conspiracy."
🤣
Anyway, I'm thoroughly enjoying your reading of this ancient conspiracy.

'Bacchanal' by Celestin Medovic
No country has a pristine history.
Party poopers. 😆
It seams the 'Satanic Panic' is nothing new!

Sounds like Modern Day Politics.
Ohh, a VERY old and xenophobic moral panic.
