Hi guys! Thanks for tuning in... Short one today! I'm back at the 1960 Chevy Impala, and I'm trying to make a decent trunk lid using the back of the frame of the 4-door trunk lid to repair the inner structure of the coupe trunk lid... Definitely not a small job, but kind of a fun way to save some real rusty junk... Today we'll try to get the skin back on to the frame... Cheers! Thanks to everyone who ordered a 2025 Coldwarmotors calendar! They are in the mail now! Thanks to everyone who subscribed to our channel here, and thanks also for all of your "likes" and comments!

Scott: You say "you don't care", but I've been watching long enough to know you do. If you really didn't, you'd just slap it together and call it good. And that's not going to happen on your watch😁 By the by, my calendar arrived today, and I can't wait till Christmas to open it - but I will try, lol! All the best to you, Honey Bunny, Ms. Francine, and the Agents from the Land of Lincoln.
I’ve got to say after watching your videos for a couple of years now that you are one of the best body and paint artists I’ve ever seen. Just brilliant work.
I love these Thursday teasers. That deck lid looks incredible. By now we all know that we will someday be oooing and ahhhing over that rusty old Impala. See you all on Saturday! 🍺🍺
I love watching your sheet metal genius. Any car that gets to have your expertise is one lucky machine! You are a sheet metal artist, no doubt about! Received you calendar today, Great Photos! Thank You for another year - CWM style!
What a treat to see this Scott. You are making great content & at the same time saving this & many other Classic's. Always enjoy watching You work metal. Cheer's.
Scott, once again I will say you are the Master. Your skills never cease to amaze me! I myself would have never attempted to repair that Trunk lid in that manner, you have taught us all much about metal work! Thank you for the best show on YT!
The Impala when you bought it from Tom was considered junk, a throwaway car suitable for parts. Now you’re blessing it with an amazing trip back to a new life. Thank you Biscayne for your generous donation.
After watching you build a very nice '60 Fury out of three different cars I have no doubt that the Bispala will turn out just as nice, it's just part of your DNA 😄
Looks great !.. Interested in hearing the sound when you close that massive trunk lid... Super solid...I had a '60 Olds Super Eighty Eight...("whale tail")...The trunk was HUGE...
Scott, I find it a bit hard to believe that you'd be a bit nervous about anything dealing with metal working... Really enjoy the 2nd video of the week. Good work!
You know, you could always paint a guitar with a Boogie Van like paint job and have a giveaway…you know we like watching you do custom work! A Gibson Explorer w a Boogie Van paint job. I’d buy some merch to get in on that!
It's a process for sure. There used to be an old Hot Rod magazine that had good cartoon jokes. There was one where the young guy goes to the panel beaters to pick up his car. He gets the bull and it's One dollar for the panel beating, and Two Thousand, for "Knowing Where to Hit."
I like the approach of getting it done in your lifetime. Not everything has to be perfect. Any car you do is going to last longer than its first time around if taken care of. Lessons from the Fury no doubt. I'm lovin the faster pace of CWM these days and though a Ford man, am really enjoying the Biscala and the Buick. cheers. Edit: And all the other cars too.
I really like Ashley's little Datsun. It looks a little like an old Alfa Giulia. He does nice work, just like you pretty much ALL do. I tell you, Pebble beach is shaking.
A lot of work for you, fascinating to watch for me. These cars will be here long after you and I are gone. I'm greatly looking forward to the UFO Buick. That will be one sensational color.
The only guys i know that would do a splice like that is you....... and me! Ill be using good 4 door doors from a 57 chevy to splice and fix the rotten 2 doors that chevy has now. I sure learned from watching you buddy! Oh, got my calendars! Thanks Scott! Mike from Junk's Automotive
Heavy, flimsy, and bulky pretty much describes me and the Impala inner trunk lid these days. Even after a superhuman amount of work was applied to both, I'm sure the trunk lid would be the most improved.
I bet the tom is glad to see the Impala get saved and restored You're fury is a pretty epic looking car so I can imagine the Impala will be the same there's something about a car that is restored by myself not bought restored keep up the hard work 😊
Really enjoying this splice! Cork is an excellent sound deadener, however wondering how much it could potentially swell up with any moisture, then retain it...The original stuff was some kind of toxic oily rubbery crap that wouldn't react to moisture. I imagine it too has the potential to expand, retract but with temperature instead of moisture. The sheet appeared to be pretty thin, so hopefully any swelling would be minimal, and appeared both sides were heavily coated in paint, so the possibility of rust would also be minimal, but I do hope you paint the shit out of it :)
I'm a car nut myself. I find that I think that the car was done with as little money as possible. But now that the car is nice ,I'm stuck with extending my garage. So the car cost restoration money and garage 💰!
Another good mid-week one. CWM and Carter's work on YTube, however Kyle since he updated his Jacket has gone all up-market with his exclusive members only posta. Now I guess we will get just the leftovers. Please don't follow that path.

Looks good from here... I was squirming in my chair and helping as much as I could. All the best from Iowa
The "Impala Club" shouldn't penalize you--they should make you a patron saint!
Another Master-class in "Just enough", well done!
That was awesome. That lid was junk- you made it gold
I love these Thursday teasers. That deck lid looks incredible. By now we all know that we will someday be oooing and ahhhing over that rusty old Impala. See you all on Saturday! 🍺🍺

One bite at a time, kings!
This project is really coming along. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
My favorite part of the week.
I was about to loose my mind I needed my cold war fix ...cheers 🍻 🚬 come on my classic darts
Really cool save! Thanks, GM, for stamping different 2 and 4 door lids! Cheers - see you Saturday!
Thanks for the adventure, sir! Cheers!! (My wife enjoys your forays into interiors... plus she appreciates anything to make me laugh)
Great work on the trunk lid!
Nice recovery on the trunk lid..that was some work..looking forward to the Datsun action
Awesome Craftsmanship!
1:38 Need more cow bell .😄
What a treat to see this Scott. You are making great content & at the same time saving this & many other Classic's. Always enjoy watching You work metal. Cheer's.
Best channel ever
Can we all just take a moment to reflect on what a privilege it is to watch this gentleman in action?
Someone I knew had a 61 Biscayne - 3 on the tree 6, poverty caps with the wraparound back window, like a flat top. Nice little post car.
I love your channel! Watching from western New York State 👍👏🙂❤️
Yes!
King of Splice.

I think the Impala Cub will give you bonus points on this one. My calendar arrived this week, awesome job! Kudos to all involved! Cheers! 😎👍🏎🏁🏁
Nice trunk lid dude! Looks fantastic, nice work...
That almost looked fun...At least it's well worth it. Cheers!
The Impala when you bought it from Tom was considered junk, a throwaway car suitable for parts.
Now you’re blessing it with an amazing trip back to a new life.
Thank you Biscayne for your generous donation.
Bonus point
Nicely done
Great work fixing a rusted trunk lid...
gonna be a beauty when it's done
Awesome. Thanks for the video.
An argument could be made that in terms of styling, the trunk lid makes that car. I think your labor is focused well.
Always love what you do. Got my calendar through the mail today!!
After watching you build a very nice '60 Fury out of three different cars I have no doubt that the Bispala will turn out just as nice, it's just part of your DNA 😄
Yes I enjoy the body/paint/mechanical but the problem solving is exceptional. I see something and say "Can't be done" Scott "Hold my beer"
Looks great !.. Interested in hearing the sound when you close that massive trunk lid... Super solid...I had a '60 Olds Super Eighty Eight...("whale tail")...The trunk was HUGE...
Frankers !!!
Thank You for the video ,
Still don't know how you did the trunklid splice Scott! I bet you would be good at gene splicing too!😆
We are enjoying each step in the Biscala splice. Thanks again Scott and Best Wishes to everyone at Same Old Shit Studios..
Scott, I find it a bit hard to believe that you'd be a bit nervous about anything dealing with metal working... Really enjoy the 2nd video of the week. Good work!
Great work as always Scott! You definitely have some skills with this stuff. Cheers!
That's neat, I heard of door skin replacements but never on a trunk. If it was built, it can be rebuilt.
You know, you could always paint a guitar with a Boogie Van like paint job and have a giveaway…you know we like watching you do custom work! A Gibson Explorer w a Boogie Van paint job. I’d buy some merch to get in on that!

Impressive and fascinating, as always! See you on Saturday!

Got my calendar this week, thanks man!
Heavy, flimsy, and bulky pretty much describes me and the Impala inner trunk lid these days. Even after a superhuman amount of work was applied to both, I'm sure the trunk lid would be the most improved.
Great work 👍
Great progress!
"This could all go very wrong any second", a quote from Lewis Black.
Got to admire your bravery.
Yah buddy....
Not sure why Google is offering an English translation here?
Maybe they can translate it to Scouse?
Yah Buddy!
Got my Calendar yesterday evening!
I bet the tom is glad to see the Impala get saved and restored You're fury is a pretty epic looking car so I can imagine the Impala will be the same there's something about a car that is restored by myself not bought restored keep up the hard work 😊
Looks good
I've used a AC/Hvac ducting liner material for something similar in the past...worked well at the time
I don't think your gonna get any better trunk lid in the mail. You now know what you got is good. It will follow the rest of the car. 👌
Excellent Video Cold Water Motors Scott :) , Honey Bunny :) , Frankers The Dog 🐕,, super nice job and see you on Saturday night Show Down!
Winter has arrived!
That is the goofiest dog ever, so adorable.
Enjoying every minute if this Scott its looking super
Frankers the snow dog, more excellent bodywork splicing, what more could a video have.
Well, Scott, if it doesn't go back together, just get a bigger hammer!
Now, on with the show!
Got my calendar today in Australia
Good fun as usual. That opening sequence could have been scripted by Kyle Carter..
That was a crazy fast 15 min.
Been following you for a couple of years but only noticed now that you talk more when you are sober 😅
Nice work as usual- looking fwd to Ashes Datsun
Cool!
Ah, same old shit, and it's great.
Splicely nicely.

I am no way a body man, but that was a good a job as could of been done by anyone. well done. Be well.
I'm a car nut myself. I find that I think that the car was done with as little money as possible. But now that the car is nice ,I'm stuck with extending my garage. So the car cost restoration money and garage 💰!
Like putting the lid back on a can of beans😂

Back in the day... how many of these assemblies were stamped and assembled at Fisher Body in an hour ??
