I'd really appreciate it if I can get a reply, because I really want this bike. I'm 5'2/157.5cm with a 70-71 cm in seam. I have only started learning to ride last year (never learned manual and didn't know what a clutch was), but I started with a Chunky himalayan with pannier boxes to learn to adventure ride with. My partner taught me to ride, and I can now ride his KTM390 adventure on all the terrains I ride on with the himalayan (peagravel, dirt, stoney bits, corrugated roads, etc). He is training me to ride it at the lowest seat height of the Expedition 875cm on his 390. Granted, there's still lots to learn on a tall bike, like trying to get on it in the first place, and getting off of it constantly (simulating traffic).
My question is, when you're off the bike, is it difficult/too heavy when stopped and having the bike lean on your hip/inner thigh/leg? Because that's the only way I can keep it up while I'm stopped. 😂 Thankfully, the ktm is lighter than the himalayan, but Expedition is much heavier. So I have to know! I'd really appreciate your feedback!!
Context: I live remote near the Outback, so I can't just go to the nearest store to try and sit on it. 😂 I have never wanted a bike this much, and I know a girl can dream, but I'd really like to work on being able to ride this one day when I get my big girl license.

      Hi there, @jamineuy1953!
the Expedition is a fantastic bike with a very low centre of gravity. It's actually my wife's bike and she is about an inch taller than I am. She's put on about 7000 kms on the Expedition in all terrain riding over the last 3-4 months and says it is absolutely a dream to ride.
My wife and I are both MSF instructors and the advice that we give to short riders is that being able to handle a tall bike is mainly about skill and experience over inseam length.
Without knowing your skill level, I can't say if the Expedition is a good fit for you. But please don't be discouraged from riding or owning a tall bike. There are a few role models on RUclips that are the same height as you, that you can look to for inspiration and education.
Megs Braap is a hard enduro racer as well as an off-road instructor. She is 5'2" and rides and races tall dirt bikes. She put out a lot of great videos on her channel that demonstrates how she manages. Check out:
      ruclips.net/video/TOWSjDZIKzo/видео.html
Jocelin Snow is a BMW off-road instructor and she rides a R1250GS Adventure with the same seat height as a Norden Expedition, plus that bike is a lot heavier! She is only 5'1" and she also has a channel with some great videos with tips on how to manage a tall bike as a short rider:
      ruclips.net/video/n0ZyVxw4Lzw/видео.html
Diego Guerra is not as short as the two ladies above, but he also has a great video on how to ride off-road with a tall bike:
      ruclips.net/video/6aOdRE1t-kU/видео.html
Don't give up! With enough practice, riding a tall bike as a short rider is entirely possible, as well as being safe and comfortable and enjoyable!

Hello Gene and Neda (@@rydedaworld), I truly appreciate your advice! Thank you both so much! The information you gave is very valuable, and I'm even more determined to get this bike, and make sure I can ride it one day!
I've actually subscribed to Jocelyn Snow and Doodle as well! The other channels, I've not heard about, so I'll make sure to have a look at them, especially Meg!
Thank you again! I will let you both know how I go when I finally get my hands on the bike!

I’m 5’9” with a 32” inseam (34” with boots). It’s too tall. Off road, this bike made me fish for Earth when off road in the cases of quick get offs; it’s just too tall, especially in off-camber situations. On road like you’re showing, sure, it’s easy. I opted for the Norden at a really good deal, and kitted it with heated grips, wind screen, and a couple other things to suit my riding, and it was the right decision for me.

In my life, I’ve never ride tall motorcycles like that because why?
You can only do when the surface is flat and as adventure means, all possible routes are the place where you will struggle if you’re can’t get on the bike confidently.
I would drop the side stand and climb up the bike like you did previously and everything will go smoothly

Either way it isn't safe to ride a bike that gives you that much trouble.

I got mine yesterday. I’m 6 feet tall and I have to carefully manage where I land. Definitely my least favorite thing about the bike. But that’s probably the only thing I don’t like.

Short riders have a chance when ground is flat, else... is a nightmare.
I m 160 cm and drive a Triumps tiger 1200 low, by the way.

I got to test ride this version and the previous one.
I am 180 cm and I found this to be tall and out of my comfort zone, another thing that contributes to the height besides the seat is the placement of the footpegs.
I ride a Desert X (with the low seat option not the lowering kit) and the footpegs are slightly in a more advanced positions that enables me to keep my feat closer to the bike.

Thanks for the video. I'm 6'0", but I have a very long torso. My inseam is 30". I sat on the standard Norden and my heels were about an inch off the ground. The expedition seat is 0.85" taller, and may be even taller yet because of the seat flaring out. My hope (optimistic wish) is the longer suspension travel on the expedition compresses a bit to negate some of that seat height difference. It doesn't look like that's the case with your 1" shorter inseam. I'll make the trip to the dealer within the next few weeks to confirm, hopefully my optimism wins the day. Anyone know of a lowering kit for the expedition model yet?

yes, manageable to get on and off as a short rider, but maan, with stop and go traffic, I maybe all twisted by the end of the day
