2:10 You don’t wait to see the result of your shot, then challenge. You’re meant to challenge before you see the result of your shot, otherwise it’s too late.
5:35 The umpire made 2 mistakes in this clip. She definitely called it after Konta hit the ball, but notice she also says: "the call stands" after Potapova's correct challenge. Some poor awareness here from PVS.
More to the point, I think her argument was, "Why are you overruling so many calls? Why do we even have line umpires if they can't see the line and you have to make the call and oh by the way all the overrules seem to be going against me?"
The ball touched the ground and hit the top of her racquet at the same time. Problem is, you need to have plenty of tennis playing experience to know this, unfortunately a lot of the empires don’t
Good question. Corruption usually follows gambling on any particular sport. I am not sure much $$$ is gambled on Tennis on a regular basis. But I am sure that big matches draw a lot of $$$ gambled. And I suspect some players have thrown matches, there was a famous case a few years ago. This match is not that important gambling wise, but it may be important enough to have private interests bribing umpires and supervisors. I have seen some shady matches over the last 50 years of playing and watching tennis. The big one that sticks in my mind was the Riggs-King match. Vegas chatter said he bet heavily on King to win...ha ha
It seems to me that most of the players who complain about these calls, are going on to win the matches. Does this give us a good lesson on how important is all the griping and whining about line calls, and just focusing on playing the match?? It's not like all these real or perceived bad calls are ending up hurting their chances at winning...
On the Potapova/Konta match, the umpire is so bad omg!! She made the call “right on time”, are you kidding me?? You called so after she hit the shot and it didn’t affect her at all jeez!!!
10:08 someone pls explain to me how this ridiculous rule is that the coach and coach the player but that player can't approach and have a conversation. 🙄
Umpires makina call, and when questioned they say 'I'm not sure, but I saw it (my way)'. If an umpire overrules, the call has to be correct. Umpires should get fined when they argue that they make the correct decission, and the video shows it was incorrect. Make the sport more fair, not less fair.
@Einars Dubrovskis I agree , but some balls really were out , some were too far away to see clearly, it was just a mess. At the end of the day she won the match
It seems that a majority of these stem from human error from questionable line calls, which COVID and the resulting automation of line calls has solved, most notably, in the US Open. I know line judges potentially lose their jobs, and that's never good, but I would be very surprised if they brought line judges back in big tournaments.
There was nothing dramatic about this situation, really. She was clarifying the rules, and you could see the umpire knew she had told her something the match before. Plus, there are MANY WTA players who are far more dramatic than is Coco who do quite well.
Yeah I have been told it in RG for example she simply lost her mind, broke the racquet then was bageled in a quarterfinal, I think she's under some big kind of pressure because US media is terrible when a very young athlete starts to win titles in high level sport and that can motivate you or fucking your mind.
Considering the true drama that these video showcase, I think that Gauff asking about clarification on a matter to which she received contradictory information the previous match is hardly "drama."
Clara Tauson is channeling her inner Caroline Wozniacki with her looks and complaining even if their games are so different. :) Mr. Gauff is so irritating...
I dont understan why player like Sakkari or Puig can switched sponsor so easily, her tennis is not impressive, she can barely make it past the 4th rd of a slam, why cant clothing sponsors give it to player far more valuable like Hsieh Su-Wei
To answer that Sakkari has the same sponsors while Puig just casually changes her racket sometimes, that doesnt mean she has a sponsor. Hsieh just simply does not want a sponsor. She wants to enjoy tennis , not to feel forced to play for someone.
@@bogdanh.8718 wasnt Sakkari sponsored by Nike before Adidas? Im just annoyed all this result-less players gets better benefit.. As for Puig, that was like 4 years ago yes its historic, but her result was considered just lucky, she never passed 3rd of a slam ever since, n i highly doubt she can repeat the Gold in Tokyo olympics
@Einars Dubrovskis You know that you can disagree with me without calling me an idiot? I was trying to make the point that she was moaning the whole match not just one point. Jesus
@@CL-jy4vd i disagree. Jabeur hit the shot and the then took two steps while holding her arm up challenging the ball. I don´t see how she could make it clearer she was challenging the call. However from these images, i can still not tell if its in though.
that coco gauff situation was bs anyway. women players want equal pay, and yet 1) they only play best of 3 at slams, and 2) they can get on court coaching. whereas if there is interaction between male player and coach, he gets a violation. you can't have your cake and eat it. if it is equal then it equal to both sexes
Paire rules! He even manages to make it to the WTA drama videos :-D
Even when you are posting WTA clips you can manage to put Paire in the video.
I'm sure Putintseva will manage to get into ATP drama videos as well. :D
He just can't get enough spotlight, isn't he? 😂
He was chillin 😎 hahaha trying to take some notes of drama acts
And the information you're all waiting for: Putintseva is at 11:52!
Even when you are posting WTA clips you can manage to put Paire in the video.
yes.he should put Kyrgius instead
@yuanyuan 11:43
Paire just can't get enough the spotlight 😂
Haha! Makes me so happy!
That's the influence Benoît Paire has on Tennis Advocate
Wow... check Rogers serve at 12:46. How can you trust an umpire when he misses a call like this?!!
Is it just me or is it always satisfying that when a player is right about something they go on to win that match…
Omg yes Taarakr
2:08 That subtle and contained laugh of the commentator after that failed smash... 😂😂
Paire and Putintseva - finally!!!
2P
whenever I see you upload a new vid, I stop everything else to watch it 😂😂. great stuff👍

Commentator: "Let's listen to this"
*silence*

Are they playing in a forest? Hahaha look at the background

Next clip Babos whiffed hard and challenged after. Same umpire tho
15:17 THERE IS NO WAAAAAAAAYYYY 😂😂😂😂😂
I love these videos, thank you so much for your hard work! I’m sure these must take a lot of time.
Aww, thank you. I appreciate your words.
These videos are so well put together. Thank you.
2:42 Umpire says she hit the ball and then challenged. That's the issue Ostapenko is bringing up, that she challenged only after the missed overhead.
Surprised the Putintseva / Sakkari match’s compilation wasn’t 20minutes long. Those 2 are in EVERY video!
Best channel on RUclips - hands down!
Aww, thank you. Definitely not the best though. There are so many great better tennis channels.
I feel Tauson is going to become a powerful contender of this channel lol
I really hope not.. she is usually not like that..
@@TheBullet0012 she literally is complaining over calls in every freaking (her word :)) match
I feel like the whole "social distancing" rules could have been explained better. Some really didnt get how it works
social distancing is dangerous
Yeah, it's confusing. Some players don't understand it because the umpires don't explain it properly.
The most shocking thing in this video was Paire actually complying with the umpire.
I almost thought you would forget punitseva, but yeah, here she is :D. Regular on the video series hahah
Coco has incredible speed

looks like Tauson is gonna be an even bigger drama queen than her compatriot Pushniacki
I was thinking the same thing lol. She whines and carries on just like Caroline lol
What can i do to win a game? She ends up winning the match
Loving these videos!!!
Very polite behaviour from Brady even though the umpire was wrong
For once ostapenko is right
Didn't think Paire(a regular in this type of ATP videos) will be making an appearance in WTA segment... haha.
The worst part about tennis is a terrible umpire.
I can see Wozniacki in Tauson
14:20 Tausons argument is "hey, you're overruling calls against me"
oh really?? and you needed 5 minutes to figure that out or what?
More to the point, I think her argument was, "Why are you overruling so many calls? Why do we even have line umpires if they can't see the line and you have to make the call and oh by the way all the overrules seem to be going against me?"
They were playing for USTA event Denmark vs. US, what she was waiting for?
7:23 , the umpire is right. Play it on 0.25. Also, if it wasnt touch, the ball would bounce higher.
The ball touched the ground and hit the top of her racquet at the same time. Problem is, you need to have plenty of tennis playing experience to know this, unfortunately a lot of the empires don’t
I love those vids
Clara Tauson, the Denmark prodigy, today's 18 years old is walking to be a mix of Wozniacki arrogance and Ostapenko's tantrums
It's always the same chairs that are always having problems managing a match properly and/or fairly. And others you NEVER see in these videos!!!!!!!
Come on bennyy come on bennyy
HAHA, smash the ball into the net and then challenge xD
Yeah, but the ball was out.. Let's also be fair.. Rule vs truth..
where do you get all this footage? ive been trying to find all i can of monica niculescu
Looking at that Tauson game, I am left wondering just how corrupt tennis is? That was obviously a corrupt chair umpire, so how far does it go?

11:35, this rule is the stupidest of all rules. She must have felt really happy to try and implement it.
12:35: Tauson is showing up in multiple videos. Is she a Putintseva in the making?
Putintseva, the Racket Manufacturer's Nightmare......there she goes again. Every match.
