    As I've stated before: Everything should be challengeable. You have cameras and you have audio. Not being able to see a replay of something that was a judgement call is complete poverty from the ATP and WTA.

    First clip just makes me respect Gauff even more than I already did. It was very kind of her to talk to the umpire after the match and explain that she wasn’t upset with her.

    I appreciate seeing Gauff talking to the umpire after the match to cool things down. She's sometimes shown bad attitude on court but at 18 she's still growing and that was pretty mature from her (even if this maturity is obviously triggered by her win lol). I hope her new status as a GS finalist will help her keeping this great attitude on court.

    (5:05) The umpire Juan Zhang needs to be re-evaluated as she has made major mistakes calling matches. Bencic did not touch the ball. She also made that huge mistake during the 2018 Wimbledon match between Cibulkova and Hsieh

    I was there for the Putintseva v Kalinina match and some of the line calls were shocking. Not just in this match but in the previous matches too. Like some of the serves were over a ball long but as it hit the chalk (Or whatever it is these days) it was still called in.

      I happen to know that they were very short of officials that week in Eastbourne, resulting in people spending 1h30 or 2hr shifts across 3 different courts over 9 or 10 hours, with much shorter rest periods for food and rehydration. Sometimes there are incorrect calls from human beings. Relax, everyone is trying their best.

      @@PL-rl5ps it’s easy to say "calm down, everyone is trying their best" if it’s a cashier who’s off by a few cents on your change. However, these are professionals who have expenses that tear through their earnings and every win counts. Some of these calls are absolutely atrocious. If you’re not capable of doing your job, then you shouldn’t have it. There are too many people who work the lines and sit in the chair that are too incompetent. This is why we’re starting to see those jobs become automated, and they probably should be

      @@drnot442 Every time I've seen her in a video, she goes up to the umpire afterwards and explains herself and says she's not mad at them, just frustrated with the situation. That's a better way to express yourself rather than other players yelling at the umpire as if calling someone an idiot is going to make them change their mind.

      This should be considered *normal* behavior for human beings to explain yourself after a contentious incident. The fact that it's so rare in professional tennis that it sticks out is a condemnation of the sport itself. Today's players could not be more whiny, self-serving, and entitled.

      I like her too. She's very no-nonsense and confident in her judgements. She's made a few mistakes, most umpires have, but she's generally very accurate and switched-on. And she does look lovely, which is a bonus 😉

      She's right, though. The umpire is not in the best position to judge a foot fault normally, but Routliffe's foot was so far over the line that she could confidently judge it even from that angle. That's why she's saying she wouldn't have called it if it weren't so obvious.

    It's kind of funny that the umpire on the foot fault call can't even explain to the player that the foot fault can be called from the moment she start serving, it doesn't have to be when she hits the ball. She was way to the left of the center line.

    Sakkari was right about the whistling from hadda-Meir, I thought it was a bird at first. That’s loud and distracting. Putinseva is a major complainer but she’s correct a lot of the time, she gets a lot of bad calls against her.

For your information, it's impossible to throw something while running or moving. And she was running towards the ball and as she was trying to reach the ball with her racquet, the racquet fell from her hands. Racquet throw requires separate hand movement, but in this case, there were not any. The only hand movement which she did was her attempt to return the ball. So explain to me, how it was racquet throw, if there wasn't any separate hand movements or any hand movements to throw the racquet for that matter? Or you will admit that you are delusional loser and clown who loves to write absolute bullshit about Ostapenko?
