    • @stevenz2998
      @stevenz2998 Год назад +7

      It wasn't legal and Tsitsipas got point penalty. However Kyrgios got only 1 warning in the whole match after LOTS of swearing and disrespecting line judges. He should get point penalty too. If not game penalty. They're not allowed to just refuse to continue play. Umpire decides and he must let it go. Otherwise he obstructs the match flow if he keeps complaining.

    The absolute bias that the tournament officials, announcers, and even some players have for Kyrgios is absolutely ridiculous. Whenever Tsitsipas made an argument the commentators would agree and be like “He’s right” but whenever Kyrgios was making his case for Tsitsipas’ default (which he was 100% right about) the announcers were dead quiet and had nothing to say. It’s really a shame after all the work he’s put in to handle his emotions and even though he’s shown great progress, people aren’t giving him the credit and respect he deserves.

    • @jeffreyvaudran1793
      @jeffreyvaudran1793 Год назад +27

      And to add on to all of that they defend Tsitsipas when he targeted Kyrgios on the approach. They kept saying Kyrgios was doing too much but I didn’t see Kyrgios hit a ball into the crowd or intentionally trying to hit his opponent on MULTIPLE occasions, and yet the announcers are defending Tsitsipas and saying that Kyrgios is making him seem like the bad guy. It’s absolutely unacceptable and shameful

      This entire match was a horrendous display of poor professionalism, and that includes both players, the umpire, the supervisor, the commentators and even the line officials (there’s a time and a place for tattling on a player and the moment someone is about to serve is not it).

      @Noa-cc9ur Год назад +1

      To be honest it's quite simple. Because they know the rules. And as unpopular as it may be they were correct.
      The umpire made to replay the point because these are the rules, even when it's in inconvenient timing, even when line judge made a mistake.
      They were right about the swearing, 2 times line judges came to the umpire about his swearing, he should have gotten 2 code violations for this. And then for threatening the umpire and constant swearing on the bench. They were also right about Tsitsipas, he shouldn't have been defaulted. 1. The ball didn't hit anyone. 2. The umpire didn't see the incident, so he can't default a player just because his opponent said he should. He should have gotten a code violation for this as he did. And he shouldn't have gotten the second code violation when he hit the score board because it was mid point. Those are the rules and they actually know the rules, apparently unlike most of Kyrgios's fans judging by the comments here. And know I don't like Tsitsipas, and I don't like Kyrgios either. I prefer players who can control they're temper and don't act like immature babies.

      Yeah, the chair can correct a line judges call if they think it was clearly the opposite of what they called. The rules on what happens after are very shaky though, and it’s almost like they depend on who you have as an umpire

    • @TRASHoftheTITANS
      @TRASHoftheTITANS Год назад +4

      @@cubinginanutshell1774 Yes, I know the chair can overrule, but that's not what happened here. According to the captions, a line umpire called "out", and then a different line umpire called the correction. It does sound like 2 different voices, but they're definitely men's voices. The chair umpire can overrule because they're effectively the "head line umpire" and have authority over the line umpires on court. But I always thought that the rest of the linespeople were responsible for calling their assigned line and were not supposed to overrule each other. That's what I was asking about.

    The BBC commentary team were a disgrace on that Kyrgios match. They constantly criticised Nick's totally legitimate complaints. The line ref interrupted him mid tie break before a second serve. Tsitsipas steps away when Nick's ready to serve. Tsit's challenge mid-rally was BS as Nick called it, shouldn't have been allowed, as he never actually stopped play. It was his only way out of losing a rally. And Tsit hit not one, but two balls into the crowd. One of which was a defaultable offence.
    And Pat Cash has the gall to assert that NICK should have been defaulted already!
    And as for the 'perfectly legitimate' lacing of a ball right at Nick rather than the wide open court, if Nick had done that, would the first words out of John Lloyd's mouth have been 'PERFECTLY LEGITIMATE, THAT PLAY!'
    It was a joke, and I loved every second of Nick winning it.

    Actually watching the Tsitsipas Kyrgios match again I think I see Tsitsipas press conference calling him a bully a little better. Like the third game if the third set he talked about Tsitsipas hitting the ball at the crowd between every single serve. Not defending Tsitsi hitting the ball at the crowd, probably the worst thing he has done in his career now. Still though, playing Nick must be rough mentally and he is somewhat of a bully early in the match.

    • @stevenz2998
      @stevenz2998 Год назад +5

      Exactly. Kyrgios is the best at this. He can keep talking non-stop to mess with his opponents and throw them off. He knows exactly what to say and when to stop before getting penalties. He's been doing it for years. Tsitsipas just couldn't deal with it and isolate himself from the drama and he lost focus. It's sort of like bullying. The one getting bullied reacts at some point and gets in trouble too. Difference is Kyrgios is used to getting in trouble. He thrives on it.

    Very good video per the usual. SO much to comment on. The Thompson call was BS, horrid call. I would've been even more pissed than Thompson as the ref seemed to lean into Tsitsipas favor. And coco? I used to like rooting for her, but girl that's part of the game. Maybe don't set yourself up to get hit next time. And then ostopenko? A seasoned veteran in tennis should NEVER act that way. And then the finale... I admit I didn't watch Wimbledon as I hadn't. But I admit that I am in favor of Kygiros here. There were some times where I was divided on him being right and wrong, but I found him making sense most times. Admit, Kyrgios isn't known to be the most ... polite player but what tsitsipas did and acted was absolutely out of hand. That should have been a default. There was another case in an earlier video of something similar happening and it was an automatic default. What about the Joker incident? That was a default. Ump was useless.
    On top of that, Kyrgios is absolutely correct and should have been pissed off. I would bet a significant amount of money that if he was the one that hit the ball into the crowd and hit someone that he would have been defaulted, fined, and suspended. Ultimately though, he needs to let it go. Hanging onto something like that (unless the banter continues AS IT DID) will only impact his game.

Yet he carries on like this when his opponent does it and the spectator is not even hit and thus not upset or in tears

    • @wcados800
      @wcados800 11 месяцев назад

      completely different situation, he did a smash, the ball BOUNCED (meaning that it lost a reasonable amount of energy and speed) and then it hit the crowd. Even if the kid was upset, krygios showed signs of, AT LEAST, caring about the spectator. Stefanos picked a ball when the game was over, and decided to hit it DIRECTLY into the public. Idk if you´ve ever played tennis, but the 1st one could happen in any moment, in the worst case it could be a code violation, but Tsitsipas is straight default, no doubt.
