Tactics:
You'll want auto-haste and auto-phoenix. Auto-shell is nice, as is auto-protect. In the stats department you'll want 255 STR, 255 M.Def, and 255 Agility.
There is no real way to do this fight quickly. Thankfully you don't have to do it as often as Earth Eater. Just mash the X button and utilize Quick Hit. Do not hit him in any way before his turn, else he will counter and then immediately kill you (presuming you either don't have protect or are below half health) on his turn. After about 10 hits you should be able to safely use an overdrive from Wakka.
For those doing this with lower stats, for whatever reason, teach Anima protect, shell, haste, and curaga. Keep him alive long enough to get off three overdrives, which should finish it off.
He will counter every attack with Ultima. He will counter every overdrive with Hydraulic Press, which does damage equal to 15/16 of a characters MAX hp (halved by protect).
What is Final Fantasy X?
Final Fantasy X (ファイナルファンタジーX Fainaru Fantajī Ten?) is a role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix) as the tenth entry in the Final Fantasy series. Originally released in 2001 for Sony's PlayStation 2, the game is to be re-released as a high-definition port for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita on March 18th, 2014, under the name Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster. The game marks the Final Fantasy series transition from entirely pre-rendered backdrops to fully three-dimensional areas, and is also the first in the series to feature voice acting. Final Fantasy X replaces the Active Time Battle (ATB) system with the "Conditional Turn-Based Battle" (CTB) system, and uses a new leveling system called the "Sphere Grid".
Set in the fantasy world of Spira, the game's story revolves around a group of adventurers and their quest to defeat a rampaging monster known as Sin. The player character is Tidus, a blitzball star who finds himself in Spira after his home city of Zanarkand is destroyed by Sin. Shortly after arriving to Spira, Tidus joins the summoner Yuna on her pilgrimage to destroy Sin.
The HD Remaster version includes improved visuals, music, and gameplay with the addition of the International version's changes. It was released on March 18th, 2014.

You people who manage to get all the Celestial Weapons, especially Wakka's (fuck Blitzball) and ability to get to the point where you break damage'....and THEN to the point of being able to fight these monsters just absolutely blows my mind...I was always shit at the Sphere Grid, and then trying to get characters various Celestial Weapons....I could never even get ONE. I'm glad people like yourself found it so easy.... 😞
Wakka's can be cheesed a few different ways (or you can grind up levels by just passing the ball around a lot if you wanna do it more legit). Yuna and Auron are effectively free, Rikku's minigame isn't bad, Tidus just requires getting used to the odd chocobo movement and not being greedy about balloons after this first corner.
Kimahri's is weird, the camera doesn't help, but if you can manage to follow a guide it should only take an hour or so. We don't talk about Lulu's (although you can cheese that one too, it still requires immense focus).
Tidus, Wakka, and Rikku are generally the ones you'll want if you're minmaxing.
Grinding out the sphere greed is just a matter of patience, you eventually hit a breaking point where 99% of the game becomes free.
What do I do about the item near Yunalesca now? Is it impossible to get it because my party is really weak atm.
As I said in a slightly more relevant video the only items that are impossible to get after missed are certain Al Bhed primers. Either use Yojimbo or do some grinding.
You did? I probably didnt understand it but how much grinding are we talking. And I tried the yojima way but I didnt know what I was doing so I died instantly.
is there any point in fighting this monsters other than challenge? do they give you something?
