Just days before their teams met, pals Man Utd Manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Everton Manager Walter Smith sat down and chat about football management and their long-standing friendship | February 2001 If you enjoyed the video please don’t forget to give it a like. You never tire of hearing those great managers. Their respect for Busby, Shankly and Stein is marvellous. They are spot on about Scotland and football. That's all us lads had. As long as we had a ball and a few pals, it was game on from dawn until we got shouted in at dusk.
As an Aberdeen fan , I always admired and respected Walter. I was gutted when he passed away. It felt like the end of an era...he was old school manager , from that ilk of Shankley, Stein, Jock Wallace, Jim McLean and of course Sir Alex.
Walter was unlucky at Everton the state of the club when he was manager. I think he was good enough to win things in England if he was at the right team. What a manager
Correct - Everton was a horrible mess back then. Sir Walter replaced by another notable Glaswegian in David Moyes. You can tell who Moyes modelled off.
Walter Smith....the man who made and changed Ronaldos game to make him the GOAT 🐐 of this era.not bad for a wee chap from Carmyle in Glasgow ...RIP. Walter how we were blessed by you 🙏

Two legends you can see the respect they had for each other.

Glasgow boys who changed football with their genius!
Two great guys from my home City.!!! Blessed with good managers and good people.
2 Great Mates,
Two working class Glasgow Rangers men.
Diffently,
Sir Alex was at the Pars in the 60s.
"you live with success, if you let it affect you, you change, and the last thing I want to do now is change" - wow.
2 Great Great Real Legends Here
Great Football Men, could listen to them all day.
Couldn't agree more!

Spot on he needed time, if he had beaten Middlesbrough in FA Cup QF in 2002, he would have seen season out

Just two auld pals who went on to change the game in Britain
01:35 Walter would manage Scotland a few years later 🤣
None other than walter 🫡💙
Football royalty.
Wouldn't like to get in a row with either of them in their pomp.
2 very good Rangers men.
The knowing smirks tell a story
Of what?
Won’t see their likes again unfortunately
Diffently,
❤
Nope, you won't see the likes of them again. The working-class communities which created such men are gone.
😂
