They sound the feckin same to me! Both badass tones! 🤘
The difference is very subtle! But still a massive heavy tone.
Thanks man🤘
This just confirms we all need both, and all the other pedals, all of them, I must have them all, They're mine. My Precious
🤘😂
Both Tones are deadly.
Mt2 sounds more Crowbar🤟 Wish i had that Randall!
I've always thought the SD-1 sounded better than the TS9 honestly. It's not nearly as compressed, you hear a lot more pick attack, and in the case of active pickups it gets rid of the stereotype of active pickups being too compressed and gives the dynamics some room to breathe.
Same, favorite OD pedal for me
Same bro
Ya well said👊🤘
Sd1 has been my go-to for a while
But I also switch between and others, ts9, tsmini, ts808, voodoo lab Sparkle drive
Thats cool man, yep I’m keepin her, used one I got is all hammered like it’s been thru a couple Crowbar tours too haha🤘
MT2 🔥🔥🔥
Metal zone more crispy a little tighter as opposed to the SD-1 is more rounded but somewhat duller in tone. Have you tried the Mxr m77 bad ass od?
Best of both in that pedal. I have a Japan made 85 SD-1 and a Keeley modded Metal zone and the Mxr beat them both at being able to essentially cover both pedals.
Huh, this is interesting.
I only have the SD-1 so can't really compare them myself, though I always dimed the volume, not the drive.
Metalzone cuts more in the treble on the palm mutes, and sounds slightly cleaner to my ears, while the SD-1 sounds dirtier in a subtle way.
They are more similar than I thought. Kind of surprising.
Thats cool man, ya someone else just said the same thing about the dials🤘
to be honest i have both ... i got the metal zone to play crowbar and acid bath ... but now i need to compare them with my amp ... they sound the same in your video hahahaha
They're VERY similar but with headphones you can hear the Metal Zone tightens the palm mutes a bit more.
Ya for sure. They feel more different while playing though, kinda surprised they showed so similar.🤘
carving into me;-)
I have 4 SD-1’s , 2 MT-2’s. My SD-1’s are all different sounding, some have more gain with the bass cut, the others are more full sounding with less bass cut. Point of the story all SD-1’s are different sounding. The bass cut is what I prefer, the Digitech CM-2 allows you to cut the bass anyway you want. The MT-2 is cool but it has a lot of gain, on other amps maybe fine but I like how the gain sounds on my Randall, it’s good sounding but not for me. Anyway you slice it asymmetrical od’s are where it’s at, I wish someone would make an OD-1 with bass and treble controls.
The metal zone as a boostth makes me think of cannibal corpse and I have never seen anyone sat there sd1 like that
Is the metal zone before or after the sd1?
Metal zone all day🤘🏼
Just got a Randall rg100es today for a 150 bucks. Starting to believe that my purchase is gonna be worth!!!
Dude! Killer find, what year is it?
@@brokenlevelmusic I believe it is a 87
@@brokenlevelmusic they guy that I bought it from modded out too. I believe he got a new chassis for it and even added lights on the inside it’s kinda sick
@@Jamin44 cool!
Wonder how a kraken pre amp would sound with the RG100es ?
Good question, thing’s pretty pricey isn’t?🤘
Interesting usage of the SD-1, I always dined the level not the drive 🙏
Ya I’ll hit it again but thought this sounded best, yesterday anyway😝
@@brokenlevelmusic I meant it as a compliment ! I never used it that way, sounded great. I think that SD 1 is that tone your chasing for that record.
@@joshww2339 ya for sure, and that room mic will capture the f’d up phasing “space” we talked about, I left it off this comparison but it totally mimics the tone on this record.
@@brokenlevelmusic Ironically I always dug that room vibe on record. Understanding of course why some might not dig it also. Some of that magic vibe seeped into the recording.
@@joshww2339 💯
Love this fucking riff, sounds like Crowbar🤘🤘
Dog, from my ears that SD-1 is that time heals nothing sauce! Metal Zone was later Crowbar!!!! 🙏
Hell yes! And dude! today picked up a mint Carvin Legacy V30 cab, shiz is coming together🤘
