I had an RG 125( if I remember right ) , back in ‘91! Played through it until it gave it gave up the ghost! About 9 years or so. Loved it!!! But yes, I replaced It with a Marshall JMP 1 , Alesis Quadraverb, peavey portable pa as a power amp. Still playing through it today and loving it. But!!! Miss the Lynch/ Slayer type tones from the Randall.
Gotta be my favorite head ever since it's so versatile when boosted & cuts through the mix so well ,I always get the stank face when jamming through mine lol
@@brokenlevelmusic thank you brother!! Mines an 85 just like yours and I also just acquired an 84, it’s not as clean looking as my 85, it’s missing the logo, the white trim, all the knobs are replaced with incorrect ones but it runs! And the 84 seems to have a slightly different voice. Now it could be that because it was more used it was also repaired or rebuilt, I’m not sure. Once I’m done with the move I’m gonna A/B them to compare
that cab is fking awesome ... wish that old randalls would be more common in europe ... i need one so much for riffing some crowbar
Sounds beastly when set a certain way. Very nice and mean sounding amp.

Hell ya Mike👊🤘
Legendary amp and greatly demonstrated. \m/
Yes sir! Thank you Kade🙏🏻🤘🏻
@@brokenlevelmusic Always excellent viewing on your channel. You’re like a Randall curator and connoisseur! \m/
@@kadestorm haha thanks man appreciate the support!!!
Great stuff! Lots of different sounds outta that beast!
Crowbar actually used the metal zone as a clean boost on the RGs. They would turn the distortion off and run it that way. Fwiw
What does that mean “clean boost”?
@@troyskinnard1393 distortion at 0, level at max
Hell yea! The old Randall sounds killer man! Love that drop pedal action. I think the old randalls are literally the sound of testosterone.
Haha thanks man! Your tones are pure savagery with RG! What year is yours?

@@PeterTheDestroyer Howd you find the 84 compared? The one i used to have was very tube like and warm sounding but grindy all at the samw time
@@ryanday9288 yea that’s what I noticed too, I would venture to say my ‘84 sounds better than my ‘85 and they both sound super tough!
Old rg’s are killer, my fav solid state amps, absolute tanks too, never break down
Funny you should say that, think it’s got some issues, cutting in and out sometimes, give er a bang & she wakes up🤘🏻😝
@@brokenlevelmusic I had all the old caps in mine replaced
Great video dude.
Thanks bro🙏🏻👊🏻
Can you please do a video comparing the solid state channel of the V2 and the RG100es?
Absolutely🤘🏻
Have you tried the new Super Crush? I love mine.
No but just picked up a used CR120 black tolex🤘
@@brokenlevelmusic What do you think of the CR120?
@@ericledford1546 haven’t spent enough time with it yet
Deicide used these on their first few albums.
nice
I'd absolutely love to hear a furman and a Krank together and see how it compares with the furman randall combo.🤘😆🤘
Well I’ll have to check that out then!👊🤘
What speakers are on the cab ? Thanks.
Heck if I know, V30’s I think, backs like a vault, haha🤘
G12H-70’s
@@brokenlevelmusic Interesting. The cab sounds great. No need to change them at all. Cheers!
Sounds really muddy and no gain at all
Nailed it
