"We are one race. Different ethnicities, different backgrounds, but one race." Couldn't have said it better myself!

The concept of racism was created to function as the shiny object that would distract American citizens from the deeper social issue that is classism. People were focused on the constructed concept of racism instead of fighting for free education, free healthcare, affordable housing, and a fair justice system.

I’m in tears right now. Typing this after you guys said, “God was very intentional in making everyone of us. He doesn’t make any mistakes.” That touched my heart. Growing up in a predominantly white environment I always felt like my white peers were superior to me in all aspects because they couldn’t relate to my struggles at home or growing up. Thank you for using your platform to speak up about this and use it for God’s glory, it means the world to us :,) ❤️

However, when my son ran into my room showed me the video death of George Floyd while the officer looked straight into theI was livid, hurt, angry, sad, hopeless, fearful and hopeful. I cried and I haven’t been able to get over the pain I am feeling over his murder on video no less. I’m grieving and I am profoundly sad. Brian & Lexy ~ I truly appreciate your in-depth conversations you've had on racism! I'm in my mid+ 60's and have said since junior high school that "we will never be equal. Those of us who were stolen from our African countries and brought here to build this country to build it to a powerful nation...will never be treated equally." At the age of 6 I was forced to use a port a potty (with no seat...just a hole in the ground) behind a famous Texas fast food restaurant because my skin was brown. I'd just finished kindergarten so mom didn't realize I could read what was spray painted on the side of the port a potty. I've remembered it daily for 60 years, it said, "for Ni----s only." I looked up at mom after I was done emptying my bladder (into that hole in the ground that mom had to physically hold me over) and noticed that mom, (who was NOT a crier, had tears in her eyes), I said, "Mom what is a Ni--er?" When that one tear fell from her eye, I fell silent...for decades! WHY DID MY OLDER SIBLINGS NOT WARN ME HOW SOCIETY REALLY WAS???
My father was a Church of God pastor, from day one, I was raised to believe that we were created in God's image. I have come to realize (after my 6 year eyeopener) that because of sin, society has employed its own type of laws governed by skin color. It doesn't matter that I have two college degrees and have worked as an OB nurse at the same hospital for 30 years. I still have patients that don't want me to care for them because of my skin color. Can you believe that. My husband is of German/Austrian descent, our two kids are light brown and its sad to say that they have had racial issues smack them in the face in their time on this planet.
My husband, I truly believe he is color blind. Which has been frustrating (at times) in our 42 year marriage. He seems to think that we are the human race, all the same, and to get past the hurt over how we are treated. Max heard me tell our 34 year old son to be careful when he was going out (after the murder of. George Floyd), I told Martin, I wanted him to return to his place still breathing, which seemed to cause Max pause. Now whenever I talk to our kids, Max wants to know how they are. Why does it take something so drastic to make people think? I've told my caucasian coworkers to treat brown skinned folks with respect because you never know what kind of hand we have been dealt because eventually we fold...then blow! Sad to say but true. I also tell them that if we brown folks are truthful, we would love for caucasians to have our skin tone, and hair, for a week or at least a few days so they can walk in our shoes.

I love y'all so much for being so understanding and realize what go on in the real world. Its so crazy that some white people just don't understand what black people go though. we as society need to teach our children how to treat each other equally and with respect. Just the other day me and my family got together at a park. It's was a guy with his kids playing on the playground and one of his son was try to pull his brother closer to him. So his dad ask what are you doing and the son said "you told me to be careful around black people and to keep my brother safe". This is what they are teaching their kids at a young age and that is just so sad.

Thanks for this video. I have been very emotional about what's going on in this world . I have a 17 year old son whom I'm terrified as soon as he walks out the door. I have also struggled with the fact that you have ppl of other ethnicities that just don't understand our pain in all this. We're not saying ALL LIVES MATTER bc we know this we just want our black lives to be included🙏

The world has a variety of birds fish beast of the field flowers and people. All created to add interest and Beauty. If we were all the same it would be a rather boring world. Embrace the differences.

Greetings Lexie and Brian; First of all... CONGRATULATIONS on THE BIRTH of YOUR BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL, "AZA ISABELLA COLE"-- Blessings and peace to your family always! Now, I just want to thank you so much for speaking on this very sensitive and sad subject matter. I am a black woman in my 60s and I have been grieving with the entire world over the latest totally despicable and horrendous murders of Mr. George Floyd, Mr. Ahmaud Arbery, Ms. Breonna Taylor; and sadly, so many, many more black and brown people who have died similarly over the past few years. I became a subscriber to your channel after I came upon your videos while working overnight and I immediately fell in love with you two young people. Seeing your love makes me smile. I celebrate your love and commitment to each other because it's a beautiful authentic thing to see. Listen, I want you two to know that I am also a True Believer and Follower of Jesus Christ and I appreciate the plea you made Brian to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ of all ethnicities to essentially listen to each other and empathize with one another. Personally, I feel the Church should have BEEN leading the way in tearing down racial barriers a long time ago--- like when desegregation became law! I often find myself questioning the motivation of SOME of my Caucasian brothers and sisters in the Evangelical Church who support current leadership sitting in high places when he does nothing to unite us but seems to thrive on dividing us (SMH). WHY?! I don't understand this! And to be honest, it's hard not to let this grieve my human spirit. I try my best to see their perspectives on the issues that are important to them but it still saddens me (SMH), because their values just doesn't seem to be in alignment with the basic principles of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Meanwhile I will keep praying for our country, for leadership and for all the members of The Body of Christ because we all need to do better in our love walk; I know I need to do better in mine. But I know prayer changes things, so I will hang on and not loose hope... You young people are the key to changing our world and future!!! Thank you for reading my thoughts (my venting), but more importantly, understanding my pain. (Please excuse my typos). God bless you both... Sincerely, Ms. Sharyn

You are absolutely right about the exhaustion that comes when you have incessant conversations with folks who just don't get it. It is also upsetting and discouraging when you have to address the racial undertones. We need to stop preferring comfort over conscience and overcome our apathetic attitudes, because, let's face it, many of us have seen the suffering of others and have kept on as if we hadn't seen it. We are so concerned with ourselves that we are dismissive of any pain that is not our own. That being said, I continue on in hope.

I've only just come across your channel. Thanks for your openness and transparency on such a difficult and painful topic. I'm coming from across the pond in the UK and I'm a black British woman married to a white man. We have had to have the hard conversations on this and will continue to do so until he gets it 🙂 Loved what Lexi said about God not making mistakes and that people instead of saying that they don't see colour should see it and embrace it...well done to you both and to you Bryan for being humble enough to take the time to listen and gain understanding (Proverbs 4:5-9)...

So you have a thing for Marxism? Your little BLM is nothing more than a smoke and mirrors group, used only when they are needed.

You guys are awesome! I 100% come in agreement with y’all! I am too doing what I can to educate myself on this issue even tho I am black. There are things about AA history that I didn’t know. Thank you so much for using your voice and speaking against this! If I being honest I have struggled emotionally on this topic especially when it came to speaking to my white friends and family. The past couple of weeks have been hard and still hard, but lm hopeful!

Ya’ll betta preach!!! Awesome, this will only change if it’s uprooted and rebuilt to encompass us all. It also must be talked about, confronted politically, and spiritually. I try and explain to my beautiful white brethren if you can’t love me and my race here how I’ll you be able to tell God you love him? Sone grew up with this and it goes down deep.
I grieved as though I didn’t knew this man. I go to a predominantly white church. I literally begged them to say something against injustice. One person said something the others nothing. I was especially waiting to hear from my Pastor and NOTHING. This crushed me, it really did, but then a brother posted about the rioting and looting. I was like stop it because I can’t even make you see how wrong this is for you to keep quiet about the murder but you are shouting over here about the people stealing.
    Thanks guys!

I think about all the atrocities that were perpetrated against Black people that were not recorded, that were left on the cutting room floor so to speak. This country has a lot to answer for. One big thing is not recognizing that God made ALL men not just one race. How many times was history manipulated to disfavor Black people? You guys are awesome and are walking the walk as well as talking the talk. Thank you! There is hope yet to come.

Difficult not to feel the pain! Cried and prayed for days and still do. But like Job said , Even though he slain me yet will I trust him. I still believe change is coming. We have hope, not in man but in the God of love and justice. We’re still the apple of His eyes.

Hi Fam, and I appreciate your open, honest opinion, as a Black Woman in these here United States, I'm tired of being tired of dealing with the mess. I don't even know the first step to take to even begin to rebuild what had been set up hundreds of years ago to suppress those of color. I do know that we must continue to pray for strength and pray for healing, and pray for loved ones, pray for this who don't '"get it" Just Pray
