I worked at a clinic where the medical assistants were on their phones all the time texting someone, on facebook, netflix, etc. Never taking accountability for their laziness, always blaming the greeters in the front(me the greeter). It was always my fault for their stupidity. Yet they always complained about a raise, doing too much and never enough vacation time. Me the greeter was always verifying private insurances, making appointments, answering the phones, getting yelled by patients. I never got recognized for my work, was never allowed to ask for a raised or vacation time. When I did ask for a raised the manager always belittled my work telling me I verified insurances wrong and having a sourpuss face. Every time I asked for vacation, the medical assistants would complain as well as other greeters "whose going to verify the insurances?". They would literally reschedule patients with private insurances when I would go back to work or tell the patients to come as walk ins early in the morning for me to verify their insurances. So yes what this man did is appropriate and people should not get offended for being called out on their laziness.

Considering what I've seen, I can understand why there are signs like this popping up. I was once working in an assembly line and a Nintendo factory in 2014, each part of the line was assigned a different task.. well two Hispanic women further up the line for me weren't doing their jobs, too busy yakin and checking their phones.. They tell you to change positions every hour or so, so you don't get Repetitive strain injuries.. welp, I felt I had to pick up their slack, it was seasonal and I was trying to stay on past the holidays so I wanted to prove myself. Ended up screwing up my left shoulder, damn thing had a random shot of pain then dropped to my side.. couldn't move it much, didn't keep the job. So I get it, if anything, there needs to be more signs of this nature.
The fact that SOME people are so emboldened to spend time on social media, or shopping online, ON THE CLOCK and unable to put their phones down long enough to think or WORK is REALLY baffling to ME. After being a substitute teacher and seeing kids fail all the way up to getting their diploma, the stupid part isn't surprising. Jeez.
Well let's be honest, our education system isn't doing anyone in this country any favors. It's an antiquated system that devalues creativity and personal convictions and replaces it with a system that is modeled after the prison system. If we really believe cramming thousands of kids into boxes and expecting things to run smoothly, we're delusional. There's no priority for mental health, so kids are feeling like suicide or sh**ting up their school is an acceptable response due to mental illness. We've seen the food these kids are being served, it's despicable. Bottom line is, this country will never advance until our education system prioritizes the safety and education of our students over efficiency, negligence and carelessness.

It's just that my lifelong observations have convinced me that it's pretty much true. And, stupid people are dangerous to themselves and usually dangerous to anyone else they are around. During COVID, I worked at a restaurant in which one person had been using TOXIC floor cleaner, instead of sanitizer, on surfaces that come into contact with food. Would you like some floor cleaner with your meal? Probably not. Back in the 90’s, I worked at a federal agency that had one person who spent most of the day walking around complaining they did not have enough time in the day to do their work. Another employee, who had been there for years, would hide paperwork in a box under their desk when they did not know how to process it. This was literally life or death paperwork. I definitely approve the sign. I’ve had a successful tree removal company the last 25 yrs. Many want the job bcuz it pays well, but can’t step up to the plate. I’ve fired numerous walks of life because they aren’t able. I also have a few employees been with me 15-20 yrs. You dnt hear that often especially in tree work. The tree work usually makes em quit within 1-3 days. Now though I can usually tell by looking at you if your going to be a good employee. 🤘🏻
You don't pay that well if most quit after 3 days. Construction/trades suck too but people stick them out because they actually pay well. Stick to hiring tree climbers fresh off the boat that are grateful for $18/hr.
That's the cost of owning a successful business. Nothing wrong with people TRYING a job if believe they will be good at it. Difference is that non-stupids will hold themselves accountable and resign if can't do the job, but stupids will hang onto the job until fired. Perhaps you would consider refining the hire qualifications & job requirements to better set expectations or attract more appropriate candidates?
@Frank Lee No sh*t Sherlock. Do you actually think you said something profound? Anyone ever in a management position can relate to the owner’s perspective. It’s aggravating telling other adults to get off their phones while at work and get productive. Lazy people want to act important always checking their phones but will be the first to complain if their check is even a few cents short. They do half the work but expect the full check simply because they were on the clock the whole time and will quit within days like he said when confronted with the reality of their performance.

I couldn't agree more with you. as a truck driver I work 3 weeks at time 70+ hrs week and only get 4 or 5 days a month off and sometimes it aggravates me when I hear people complain about the very issues that they created for themselves and of course in other cases they whine because they work too much etc. I'd play them the worlds smallest violin but no one has time for that lol.

I love it, it tells you a lot with just a few words.
Some employers and managers wont even scold those people also. I have to shame them
I'm retirement age, but quite a while ago, I came to the conclusion that, on average, there is at least one stupid person on every street corner, and you'll pass a few other fools walking from one corner to the other. I'm not exaggerating or saying that as a joke. I'm not expressing that from a position of arrogance or a feeling of superiority. It's just that my lifelong observations have convinced me that it's pretty much true. And, stupid people are dangerous to themselves and usually dangerous to anyone else they are around. And, in recent years, all too many people have forgotten or ignored the warning George Carlin gave us..."Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers".
The reason there are as many stupid people as there are today is because the terrible beasts that once ate the stupid people are now extinct.

That is a FANTASTIC, BEAUTIFUL sign. More places should have that sign. Especially in the food service industry.
Stupid people are a fact of Life. They should also be able to hold productive, HARMLESS jobs. U.S. Congress and the Senate, should have minimum IQ requirements as well as a psychological evaluation as prerequisites.
