I just bought the cheapest e46 330d manual wagon in the UK at £1750, I will have to make some videos on it, it’s a 2004 with 275k miles on it and one owner. But the best of the best m57 after fixing some bits and deleting egr I cannot wait to get it tuned, 300hp with just a tune is madness!
For the RTAB's - no need for a bushing tool - just get large drill and drill bit and drill out/cut the rubber out and then chisel metal rim of the bushings out - easily replaced with poly bushes which just slot in, cheaper and easier to replace. Also a lot of that rust is just surface rust and a good wire brush down, jet wash/pressuure wash and some spray wax oil or lanoguard
I've just done polybushes/rusty rear subframe on my E30 rear end, so this is probably the way I'll go tbh! Eventually I want to pull the rear subframe from this and give the floor pan a proper clean/paint
apart from e30, e46 is best looking BMW in my opinion. I still only have 1.9 petrol as my first (legal) car. Arches are mint on mine for 2001 though, still original paint even though I work in a bodyshop. I've not long come off a 5yr ban and still haven't applied for my licence back, car still parked in my driveway. edit: handbrake is common problem on them, I took my driving test with mine knackered, I even told the examiner it was knackered and still passed the hill start.
I look at my E30 everyday and think that, despite it having not moved for a year now! the E46 msports look good, but I think my favourite is an early 70's 3.0 CSL, those things look great! yeah I've adjusted the handbrake already and it's better but still garbage! might give it another go next time I'm under it
5 year ban!! DR10? Medical and or extended retest? Prison time? You should stay off the road mate. You don't get that amount of time for blowing just over the meter or driving at an enthusiastic pace.
Yeah that's my plan, there's a guy on Facebook selling them for 100 quid each powder coated so I'll do that eventually 👍 just some the rear ball joints and camber arms and had to fight it every step of the way 😂
Alright mate. Quick question, what fuel do you use for your e30? Do you use any additives or anything like that? Picking mine up Saturday but can’t find anything on fuel
I just throw in standard e10 petrol with no additives. One thing you'll want to check first is the fuel hoses as the ethanol in modern fuel can cause the old lines to split 👍
@@wiwjdnd1989 yeah, the ones under the engine bay are the most important to check, just make sure they have flex in them and don't have cracks/have perished

Two DR10 in a short period, second time was obviously no licence, insurance, etc....

Might be worth getting another subframe off eBay there cheap enough. All the others jobs are minor maintenance.
