My favourite proposal is “the world’s gone beautiful” by Lily. It describes an event that will happen 24 hours before an End of the world scenario. During this event, beautiful flowers will bloom over 90% of the surface of the earth, and the sky will be clear of any clouds or rain. Every person on earth will know about the impending fate of earth during the event. The foundation aren’t attempting to stop or contain this (since it isn’t the cause of the world ending) and when it happens, all personell - including O5 and D-class - are let go, free to use the next 24 hours of the world as they wish.

My headcanon is that the Foundation itself is 001, and everything was created in response to it, and anything that predates it only did so retroactively after the Foundation came into being. The Foundation is sentient and not even the O5 council, save for maybe O5-1, knows this. I think it is either interested in the things brought into it, or it feeds off of them, and the more SCPs there are, the stronger it gets.
@@fellamcgee I'm pretty sure the Administrator is outside the council, at least according to some entries that talk about the council and then reference the administrator as a totally separate entity, such as one where the entire O-5 was killed simultaneously save for O5-13, yet the Administrator is referenced as having existed as the same individual before and after this event, implying he is not part of the council, among other references as well.

My favorite 001 is the one that claims The Foundation itself is an anomaly. Basically, a random high school was converted into the first Foundation site and just kinda started doing their Foundation thing. The UIU (The US Government's low-budget Foundation) investigate, and the squad they send in becomes the O5. I haven't watched much of this channel, but the Wiki is dear to my heart. For the next episode, can you cover some GoI? (GoI means Group of Interest.) Cover stuff like the GOC, MC&D, the aforementioned UIU, AWCY, and the most important GoI, the SPC, or Shark Punching Center.
Well they did just cover a GoI, The Church of the Broken God, but I would love to see some of the others covered. I have my own headcanon for MC&D based on their stories.
my favorite SCP claims to be the true SCP 001, the architect. It's a small metal hexagon that expands the interior of any confined space it's set in, causing increasing abnormalities as the space gets bigger. It's said that some outside force set the architect in the universe at the beginning of time and all SCPs are the result of the architect working more and more poorly as the universe got bigger

The thought of it just messes with my ability to comprehend because the SCP Foundation "Universe" has actually been confirmed to be a "Multiverse" since there tons of other Realities + Different Dimensions and whole other Universes that got destroyed and started back up again.
When you think about it SCP-001 is actually easy to explain. It’s the reason why there is no canon, and why there are multiple 001 cases. Because SCP-001 is actually a broken timeline. A nexus between all worlds that the Foundation itself is built upon. Still doesn’t make sense? Well think of it like this. Every fictional story you have ever read, seen, heard, written, or played is actually a memory projected from a parallel universe (the world’s kinda similar to ours) or perpendicular universe (The very different ones). These projections are then detected by us and then brought into our reality as stories. The foundation is this story that connects all the others that we know of by assimilating them into their broken canon. Not all personnel are aware of this. Only the 05, a few lucky/trusted/selected level 4 and whoever just happens to get caught up in the mess.

I've started calling my Labrador X Spaniel, Fudge, my little SCP-001 or Baby Gate Gaurdian, because everytime I walk down the stairs I find him lying on the landing between the 2 sets of stairs and in order to pass, either up or down, he rolls over and demands Tummy Rubs, which are his favourite!
I really like the gate guardian. The idea that this is one of the cherubs sent to guard the garden of eden. Andthe cain and able thing makes sense because if you think of them as the children of Adam and Eve then they grew up around the guardian and the gate to eden.

The containment unit just has 4 identical anomalous entities in a never ending loop of performing the song. They even manifest the entire visual around them. People exposed to this scp for too long will gradually turn into another copy of the entities and join in on the number, unable to ever stop, so eventually they just drop from exhaustion or die.....this got dark..,

IMO I find When Day Breaks to be the scariest one because of how daylight, which is a cliche for being safety is now the most terrifying thing possible.
I like the Angel the best as it feels the most "traditional" from all that I read so far. Also would you cover the more mundane objects? I find them extremly funny and a nice change from the more serious toned ones.
The Angel is the guardian of the Garden of Eden. In the book of Genesis it is written that God, after the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, placed a Cherub with a flaming sword at the entrance to prevent anyone from entering it again.

I like to believe that most if not all of the 001 proposals are real, but not necessarily in this universe. That is, they are real documents acquired from parallel universe Foundations, recovered from the ruins of past earths that were overwritten by reality bending anomalies, and/or taken from alternate timelines and potential futures.

SCP 001 (in my head canon) is the actual staff of the Foundation, like Dr Bright and the other researchers who are naturally drawn to the paranormal. The Foundation provides a kind of safety net/ resource pool/ magnet for those whos curiosity could lead to disaster for humanity. Special Containment Procedure 001 calls for the creation and maintenance of a occult scientific/security organization whos purpose is; 1: Contain, secure, and protect anomalous entities/situations/locations, etc... 2: Contain, secure, and protect those "normal" humans who are drawn to these anomalies, using their skills and curiosity to better understand and contain said anomalies.
5:00- This is my favorite proposal because of the concepts that it opens up, especially when you take into consideration the THOUSANDS of things that the SCP foundation has to monitor and interact with every day. How would this event effect them? What would they do to combat it? Will they even try to combat it? I just love the ideas that come from the proposal.
What I like to imagine is that one universe was looking to do something it could not, something like destroying scp-682, and decided to use a machine similar to the thresher device to merge multiple universes together in order to complete that objective. By doing this, both universes that did not have anormal entities and universes that had their own scp foundation with their own scp-001 became one, this explains why there are so many different scp-001 but also at the same time, the improbable amount of scp personnel and how certain scp stories coexist like the gate guardian with 076 and cain while they have no link with scps like 682. Hey, remember how scp-343 stated that 682 is not one of his creations? I know I found a lot other things like this, can't quite remember them, feel free to comment some you've seen. If their goal was to make 682 disappear from our world, well, it worked, check scp-001: keter duty. While some sort of interdimensional leak made other universes(like ours) able to access the scp database even though the foundation does not exist in our world. This would be a logical explanation to the multiple scp-001 as well as the illogical things like "if scps are real, then why don't we get killed by 2521", which would make this, the most scientifically accurate explanation, if we do not consider that multiple dimensions are not scientifically accurate But of course, scp-001: the truth explains the multitude of scp-001 by stating that they're all fake scp-001, and the true scp-001 is not even an scp-001, and if you ask me, sheaf of papers is a better scp-001 than the truth Also, a major flaw in my thresher merging theory is that both the spiral path and sheaf of papers mention scp-002 and scp-003 and even more, so... We would have to assume that sheaf of papers does not actually create scps and in fact, it's only telling about scps from other worlds

I like to imagine that SCP-001 is a mixture of Lily's Proposal, the World's Gone Beautiful, and S.D. Locke's proposal, When Day Breaks. It'd start out with the World's Gone Beautiful occuring to lure everyone out, (I won't spoil why the world-ending thing does so, for that read the Day Break wiki page and the ones that follow suite,) and once nearly everyone has been lured outside, the Sun goes 'weird' and melts up to 6.8 billion, leaving the rest of humanity to eventually be eradicated by the Day Break's creations, SCP-001-A instances, or SCP-001 itself.

Humanity is one of the ideas I have for SCP-001, but the idea is that humanity is capable of fixing reality into a solid form via their beliefs. And the SCP Foundations original goal is not to protect humanity from the anomalous but rather the opposite.
This is a fun story about Uriel, the Gate Guardian. When SCP 073, Cain, tried to approach the Gate Guardian (aka Uriel, the angel who guards the Garden of Eden. The angel who buried Adam and Abel within the garden), it had to been the 2nd biggest mistake he's ever made in his life. Which pissed God off. This is what happened before it was expunged by 05 command. When Cain, the first man ever to commit murder, tried approaching, the symbol (the Mark of Cain) on his forehead began to split open. Causing a very bright (sun) light shine from the crack. Putting Cain in the most pain he's ever experienced. And don't forget, Cain is immortal, and literally cannot feel pain by any ordinary means. Such as bullets, knives, or a punch to the face. It'll only effect the attacker by the mean they attacked by. Cain begged God for his forgiveness and assured him he didn't intend on entering the *Garden*. Then, Cain was knocked unconscious with ease. 076 aka Able was smart. When the foundation asked him to go, he immediately said, "NO. Just, no!" He knew God didn't forget what happened in there over 10,000 years ago.

As an interesting footnote to this, I decided to check on 2018 Mangg's claim that "The Gate Guardian" was the highest-rated proposal at the site; that may have been true at the time, but as of now it is second to "When Day Breaks". Interestingly, while the two actually lowest-rated proposals are in the new list (with the second-oldest, "The Insurgency" also being second-lowest at 120, and the actual lowest being "The Conspiracy" at 112), the title of worst-performing proposal has to go to "The World at Large", which has only 122 despite being old enough to be on Mangg's list. Most of the other proposals are rated in the several hundreds positive (anywhere from 300-something to 800-something), with about three or four of them having somewhere between 1000 and 2000 votes, and only those first two being over 2000. I have not actually read most of these full proposals as of yet (mostly just because of how long, so I don't know how my opinion will compare to the ratings); so far the only ones I can recall having read fully were "The Factory" (which I thought was just okay, but don't accept in my headcanon despite its connection to 4000, which I like a great deal) and the Kate McTiriss proposal, which I absolutely despised, but will take another look at eventually because I suspect I missed something (likely I still won't care for it, but I want to make sure it gets a proper evaluation before I decide).
Canon says only 1 SCP can kill 682. That was an alt universe where everything conceptually alive was dead in every conceptual sense. Even 682 was not spared. The blokes who found a dead 682 noped the fuck out of there.
Considering the SCP universe accepts and interacts with a multiverse, as well as an infinite universe itself, it it more than acceptable that multiple SCP-001 are the truth.
The Gate Guardian just feels like a good 001. I wish it had a bit more lore, but I also like that it’s not heavy handed, even with the Cain and Able portions.
My favorite by far is the Prototype. I like how simple and logical it is. I don't really like material that makes the foundation itself a massive focus, to me the appeal was always just normal human beings trying their best to contain and study wierd ass shit that is starting to appear. The O5 and other parts of the foundation just being normal human beings containing the anomalous.
Honestly, and I know this is up for debate, but the only thing that could possibly be the most canonically accurate description of SPC 001 would be humanity in it of itself. Nothing weird or anything having to do with the other SCPs, but think about it: Who ever founded the SCP foundation could have purposefully created the SCP 001 file as a red haring to whatever they were hoping to find. It could be that the foundation holds the title, as if to say that people are the original SCP. I know its cliché but this theory just makes sense to me I guess.
The Factory is the best. I honestly don't quite understand why so many people like The Gate Guardian, since it seems a little simplistic to me. Its the door to the Garden of Eden and the angel that guards it. That's it. The Factory and The Spiral Path are more poetic and perplexing proposals, while The Broken God and When Day Breaks are very creative and unique. But The Factor was the first article in the SCP Wiki that actually creeped me out so much I stopped reading it. I love it.
When Day Breaks is 100% my favorite of the 001 proposals. It's sooooo interesting, even if it doesn't try to make the anomaly in question the source of the rest of the SCPs in existence.

I rather like the idea that once upon a time something odd was discovered which showed there was a singular glitch in reality itself, and that in trying to play around with this glitch to better understand it, people ended up creating more SCP's. That said, I do not like the idea that the foundation is who did it and they only pretend to do their work to cover up there other work of attempting to understand this glitch and creating more SCP forevermore. I think an edit that describes the initial playing-around leading to a chain reaction, with the group responsible morphing into the SCP foundation in an attempt to put the lid back on would be better.
My head cannon is that each 001 is in a different universe so this universe is the CotBG but that universe is the scarlet king and each SCP fits in a different universe depending on which 001 it is cannon with, 999 and 682 are both in the scarlet king universe while some SCPs are bridges between universes such as 3008 which is why it can both contain some of the scarlet king universe SCPs while also being mentioned in WDB.
My head canon is that none of the SCP-001s are canon and that the real one is actual one the regular ones or multiple ones that are interconnected, like the horned king, the HTKR, SCP 999, etc. Made regular to hide their true nature.
I think the coolest proposal for scp 001 was scpillistrated's story "The Truth/the Architect" which claims the best way to hide scp 001 is to not classify it as such. It's pretty cool if you wanna check it out

My headcanon is that the Foundation itself is 001, and everything was created in response to it, and anything that predates it only did so retroactively after the Foundation came into being. The Foundation is sentient and not even the O5 council, save for maybe O5-1, knows this. I think it is either interested in the things brought into it, or it feeds off of them, and the more SCPs there are, the stronger it gets.

Basically, a random high school was converted into the first Foundation site and just kinda started doing their Foundation thing. Because SCP-001 is actually a broken timeline. A nexus between all worlds that the Foundation itself is built upon.

Every fictional story you have ever read, seen, heard, written, or played is actually a memory projected from a parallel universe (the world’s kinda similar to ours) or perpendicular universe (The very different ones).
These projections are then detected by us and then brought into our reality as stories.
The foundation is this story that connects all the others that we know of by assimilating them into their broken canon.

Cherubims are one of the highest ranking classes of angels in the Bible, and the sword is described to be emitting fire. It's guarding some sort of grove or garden as well. It all adds up. Also explains why Cain and Abel don't want to go near it. Adam and Eve were also told to forget Eden and populate the rest of the world so the order to forget and move on also make sense.
Of course it all mentions this in the article to its resemblance to the Bible. Pretty interesting to see so many Biblical characters or moments rewritten into the SCP universe. I mean, there's even a "God" SCP in 343

The Angel is the guardian of the Garden of Eden. In the book of Genesis it is written that God, after the expulsion of Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, placed a Cherub with a flaming sword at the entrance to prevent anyone from entering it again.

I like to believe that most if not all of the 001 proposals are real, but not necessarily in this universe. 5:00- This is my favorite proposal because of the concepts that it opens up, especially when you take into consideration the THOUSANDS of things that the SCP foundation has to monitor and interact with every day. How would this event effect them? What would they do to combat it? Will they even try to combat it? I just love the ideas that come from the proposal.
What I like to imagine is that one universe was looking to do something it could not, something like destroying scp-682, and decided to use a machine similar to the thresher device to merge multiple universes together in order to complete that objective.
By doing this, both universes that did not have anormal entities and universes that had their own scp foundation with their own scp-001 became one, this explains why there are so many different scp-001 but also at the same time, the improbable amount of scp personnel and how certain scp stories coexist like the gate guardian with 076 and cain while they have no link with scps like 682. Hey, remember how scp-343 stated that 682 is not one of his creations? I know I found a lot other things like this, can't quite remember them, feel free to comment some you've seen.
If their goal was to make 682 disappear from our world, well, it worked, check scp-001: keter duty.
While some sort of interdimensional leak made other universes(like ours) able to access the scp database even though the foundation does not exist in our world.
This would be a logical explanation to the multiple scp-001 as well as the illogical things like "if scps are real, then why don't we get killed by 2521", which would make this, the most scientifically accurate explanation, if we do not consider that multiple dimensions are not scientifically accurate
But of course, scp-001: the truth explains the multitude of scp-001 by stating that they're all fake scp-001, and the true scp-001 is not even an scp-001, and if you ask me, sheaf of papers is a better scp-001 than the truth
Also, a major flaw in my thresher merging theory is that both the spiral path and sheaf of papers mention scp-002 and scp-003 and even more, so... We would have to assume that sheaf of papers does not actually create scps and in fact, it's only telling about scps from other worlds

I like to imagine that SCP-001 is a mixture of Lily's Proposal, the World's Gone Beautiful, and S.D. Locke's proposal, When Day Breaks. It'd start out with the World's Gone Beautiful occuring to lure everyone out, (I won't spoil why the world-ending thing does so, for that read the Day Break wiki page and the ones that follow suite,) and once nearly everyone has been lured outside, the Sun goes 'weird' and melts up to 6.8 billion, leaving the rest of humanity to eventually be eradicated by the Day Break's creations, SCP-001-A instances, or SCP-001 itself.

This is a fun story about Uriel, the Gate Guardian.
When SCP 073, Cain, tried to approach the Gate Guardian (aka Uriel, the angel who guards the Garden of Eden. The angel who buried Adam and Abel within the garden), it had to been the 2nd biggest mistake he's ever made in his life. Which pissed God off. This is what happened before it was expunged by 05 command.
When Cain, the first man ever to commit murder, tried approaching, the symbol (the Mark of Cain) on his forehead began to split open. Causing a very bright (sun) light shine from the crack. Putting Cain in the most pain he's ever experienced. And don't forget, Cain is immortal, and literally cannot feel pain by any ordinary means. Such as bullets, knives, or a punch to the face. It'll only effect the attacker by the mean they attacked by. Cain begged God for his forgiveness and assured him he didn't intend on entering the *Garden*. Then, Cain was knocked unconscious with ease.

So that's 17 newer proposals (not counting the revision of Keter Duty), of which only 6 have been covered by TES since this early video. I've got quite a rabbit hole to fall down here....
As an interesting footnote to this, I decided to check on 2018 Mangg's claim that "The Gate Guardian" was the highest-rated proposal at the site; that may have been true at the time, but as of now it is second to "When Day Breaks". Interestingly, while the two actually lowest-rated proposals are in the new list (with the second-oldest, "The Insurgency" also being second-lowest at 120, and the actual lowest being "The Conspiracy" at 112), the title of worst-performing proposal has to go to "The World at Large", which has only 122 despite being old enough to be on Mangg's list. Most of the other proposals are rated in the several hundreds positive (anywhere from 300-something to 800-something), with about three or four of them having somewhere between 1000 and 2000 votes, and only those first two being over 2000. I have not actually read most of these full proposals as of yet (mostly just because of how long, so I don't know how my opinion will compare to the ratings); so far the only ones I can recall having read fully were "The Factory" (which I thought was just okay, but don't accept in my headcanon despite its connection to 4000, which I like a great deal) and the Kate McTiriss proposal, which I absolutely despised, but will take another look at eventually because I suspect I missed something (likely I still won't care for it, but I want to make sure it gets a proper evaluation before I decide).

Canon says only 1 SCP can kill 682. That was an alt universe where everything conceptually alive was dead in every conceptual sense. Even 682 was not spared. The blokes who found a dead 682 noped the fuck out of there.
Considering the SCP universe accepts and interacts with a multiverse, as well as an infinite universe itself, it it more than acceptable that multiple SCP-001 are the truth.
The Gate Guardian just feels like a good 001. I wish it had a bit more lore, but I also like that it’s not heavy handed, even with the Cain and Able portions.
My favorite by far is the Prototype. I like how simple and logical it is. I don't really like material that makes the foundation itself a massive focus, to me the appeal was always just normal human beings trying their best to contain and study wierd ass shit that is starting to appear. The O5 and other parts of the foundation just being normal human beings containing the anomalous.

Honestly, and I know this is up for debate, but the only thing that could possibly be the most canonically accurate description of SPC 001 would be humanity in it of itself. Nothing weird or anything having to do with the other SCPs, but think about it: Who ever founded the SCP foundation could have purposefully created the SCP 001 file as a red haring to whatever they were hoping to find. It could be that the foundation holds the title, as if to say that people are the original SCP. I know its cliché but this theory just makes sense to me I guess.

The Factory is the best. I honestly don't quite understand why so many people like The Gate Guardian, since it seems a little simplistic to me. Its the door to the Garden of Eden and the angel that guards it. That's it. The Factory and The Spiral Path are more poetic and perplexing proposals, while The Broken God and When Day Breaks are very creative and unique. But The Factor was the first article in the SCP Wiki that actually creeped me out so much I stopped reading it. I love it.
When Day Breaks is 100% my favorite of the 001 proposals. It's sooooo interesting, even if it doesn't try to make the anomaly in question the source of the rest of the SCPs in existence.

I really like the spiral path, the isea that the foundation itself created the SCP's and the people among them with different ideals formed the groups of interest is awesome
I rather like the idea that once upon a time something odd was discovered which showed there was a singular glitch in reality itself, and that in trying to play around with this glitch to better understand it, people ended up creating more SCP's. That said, I do not like the idea that the foundation is who did it and they only pretend to do their work to cover up there other work of attempting to understand this glitch and creating more SCP forevermore. I think an edit that describes the initial playing-around leading to a chain reaction, with the group responsible morphing into the SCP foundation in an attempt to put the lid back on would be better.

My head cannon is that each 001 is in a different universe so this universe is the CotBG but that universe is the scarlet king and each SCP fits in a different universe depending on which 001 it is cannon with, 999 and 682 are both in the scarlet king universe while some SCPs are bridges between universes such as 3008 which is why it can both contain some of the scarlet king universe SCPs while also being mentioned in WDB.
My head canon is that none of the SCP-001s are canon and that the real one is actual one the regular ones or multiple ones that are interconnected, like the horned king, the HTKR, SCP 999, etc. Made regular to hide their true nature.
I think the coolest proposal for scp 001 was scpillistrated's story "The Truth/the Architect" which claims the best way to hide scp 001 is to not classify it as such. It's pretty cool if you wanna check it out
