xraychick you have to teach your dig that you are the most interesting and fun person to be around. If all fails, always keep a pocket full of yummie treats
@@centraltexashusky This has worked great for me, and I've found quite a few experienced trainers giving this kind of advice. Also, always keep a leash on you. I've had a few times where my dog will come when called, but will immediately go back to trying to find a squirrel or something that ran by once I try to walk with her.
fbnc11 training always take some time. Try and find training opportunities, there is always a good moment to teach your dog (I.e sit and wait while getting in and out of the house).
thanks for this video.. I have a 8 week old husky.. he is a handful to teach. but hes learning. the only bad thing about him is that one day he learns to behave good and the next day he just complete losses it.. but i'll teach him some tip of these video..
Amazing vid dude, thanks a bunch. My dog is exactly like you’re first dog in the video. He is almost one year and I am making good progress with training. I have used youre techniques and tips and they are really working out great. Thanks again and you’re dogs are b autiful btw 💙😍💙
Thanks for this video, I have a 9 week Siberian Husky and I’m having hard time at feeding time she its all over knocking me down and walking her it’s a mess she takes off pulling me, instead me walking her she’s walking me lol, it’s my first experience with dogs, I’m trying to teach her and give her treats and now ever time she sees me she jump on me looking for treats , hope this help😌 otherwise she’s going to need some serious professional trainings with someone else
I have a 1yr old and a 11mnth old husky the girl is good on some commands bt I'm having a lot of trouble training the male he jst dont listen to any commands bt all I can do is jst be patient with him bt very good dogs🐾🐾🐾
Thank you so much for sharing! I have a 3 months old husky puppy, who is super energetic, a bit crazy but really loves to learn (is very much food oriented). At the moment we have the biting problem, he doesn't understand that it is not okay to bite human hands the way as he bites other playmates. In addition, he bit me twice by accident when I handfed him (really badly, I think there will be big scars). I have tried all different ways to coordinate his biting towards toys, ignoring him when he bites, saying no, stopping right away playing with him, walking away etcetc.. but nothing helps really. I feel very worried and lost, I am just scared that if we don't get this behaviour out of him, he might hurt others by thinking he can play with them like this or myself again, but in a more serious way. If there is anyone, who had similar problem and resolved it, I would really really appreciate your help!
My dog just sort of learns on her own lol. I take her walking every day and in the beginning she just would bolt out and try to go everywhere as fast as possible. She wouldn't stop at reds so I had to pull her in. I don't know when but lately she stopped tugging as much. it's a casual walk for me. next thing I know she stops at red lights and when I stop. no more tugging and pulling when I stop she just sits down
Omg what a great video! I love what you’ve done to your pack. I’ll be getting a husky soon and I’m slowly preparing for the handful I’ll have at home. Also can you advise me on wether it would be better to get two huskies at once, or should I get the first one first and once she’s trained, bring in another one? I just prefer the idea of having two dogs instead of one, so they’re not bored and lonely when I’m out of the house.
Great tips and I will definitely try this. I have a pit as well so do you recommend doing these exercises with only one of them at a time and as they progress then do it together or should I train both at the same time? I find it very difficult to train them at the same time, almost impossible, especial when we go on walks.
great video man, just got a 6 week year old female Husky she is a stinker sometimes... but we love her. I try to train her a hour or two a day due too my crazy work schedule. I do have a question in regards to obedience and affection, she is super "independant" but had seperation anxiety. Any tips for female huskies who are very prissy anf indepandant? thanks for videos got a sub from me.
Michael Sandusky sounds like you have a typical husky! I do not recommend any form of punishment. You can do corrections like distract her from what she should not be doing (I.e. Make scary noise, slap your hands together). You are better off building a stronger bond by being more patient and giving her more time to learn. Don't expect too much from a young puppy. It is like getting mad at an infant. GL on training!
May i know what you used to trim your dogs nails with? My cavalier grows her nails so damn quick that we have go to the vet every third week to get them trimmed which is extremely expensive.
my husky pullin on leash. i wanted to spend his energy before we start to train on it. so we started to run and he was keep coming under my feet and i jumped few times then i step on his feet. how can i spend his energy? When i start to train on leash he doesnt care me even i have treat. we go to same place quiet and he keeps smelling stuff or falls behind. i cant take his attention on me. but at home he doesnt leave me alone. when i go to train, i lose him. i do stuff to take his attention shocky touch, treat, saying come but he doesnt care. but at home i say sit stay come he is waiting for these commands. pls help..
Mustafa Zeytinli training a husky can be a challenge. First, you need to make sure your dog is hungry and tired before attempting any training sessions. Being tired will help them focus more on on you, than to try and do other things to expend those energy. Also, I usually like to train them before meal time. This way, any food is good food. If the treat you are using is not effective, use something more appetizing like real pieces of cooked chicken. Remember to be patient and take it slow. Any progress even though it doesn't seem like it, is good progress.
This is a well-made video, but all these tips apply to all dogs and are just basic training techniques. I was hoping for more specialized tips in dealing with their stubborn nature. Thanks for the vid anyhow!
In this video, were your other dogs besides the one being trained not leashed while you were riding your bike? Which training exercise did you perform to achieve this kind of obedience with your other Huskies? By the way your huskies seem very obedient, seems like you did a good job in raising them!
A DC hi there! You are correct about my other huskies not being on a leash when I was on my bicycle. They go through at least a year worth of training and learning how to properly heel before they are allowed to run off leash next to my bike. It is very important to slowly introduce them to this, because it is a very dangerous activity for you and your dog :)
This is the part i was most impressed by. I tried that with my husky , saw a deer and ran off. I have been scared to let him off a leash since. Luckily he stopped chasing the deer and my husband caught up to him.
@@elisapaints It is best to do this in a quiet and controlled area first. Slowly introduce more and more distraction until you achieve what you are looking for.
Thanks so much! I'm planning on adopting a husky from a shelter or rescue since there are many of them in shelters or rescues near me and I'm learning all about how to properly care for the dog does anyone know how to train a husky not to get out of a fence? I don't think it would but I've read they're good at escaping but again I don't think it would because I have other dogs the size of huskies and smaller that he or she could play with so I don't things it would get bored and also do huskies like to swim if anyone knows?
I always have a better time with my husky if I let her do what she wants to do for a while. She is hard wired to smell everything, so I don't interfere for quite a while when we go walking, which is three or four times everyday, then she is much more cooperative with me. She is 17 mo., I have had her 8 mo. now and we have bonded like wood and glue!
Great video, just give reasons for your tips. Someone will not be able to understand why you have to change direction spontaneously, this is to keep their on you all/most of the time.
Hey I'm going to use these techniques for my 5 month old husky. I have a question about him though. He bites a lot and hard when he is petted. He is bitting too much and aggressively even though he is teething. Is there something I can do to get rid of this behavior?
Make sure to always socialize your dog with other dogs and people. This will help them learn their surroundings. The more they get to experience, the more calm they will be. As far as biting or teething goes, use your hand and push down your dog's tongue. Don't choke them or do it too hard. Just consistently stick your hand in his mouth and push down your dog's tongue. Repeat this on a daily basis and eventually he will avoid your hand in his mouth.
Any tips on what I should do if my 5 month old husky bites me if I stay in the same area too long? Makes things like picking up her poop, or waiting for her owner, very difficult and painful.
Hello idk if this will get answered but I have a job where I start at 7am and get come around 4 sometimes 5pm maybe later. I have a 4 year old husky that has started screaming bloody murder before and during walks, he hypes up my other male to scream as well. I have no idea what it is. Any to[s for this behavior, neighbors always peep out when I am about to walk them and they believe I hurt them.
Wow!!!! Please make a video how to help my new adopted Alaskan husky who's 6 years old with beautiful big blue eyes get along with my two cats and actually she's finally good with my boxer who's 9 years old. She is very good with people and children and licks everyone and knows a lot of commands. She's just not good with other dogs....cats especially!!!🙉🐶🐱🙏🏼🙏🏼😘
LOL, sure, looks good, easy. But, just let a rabbit run past and all bets are off. If mine didn't bolt after it I would think she was not feeling well. No waste, she eats them. Although she prefers possum over rabbit. As far as pulling goes, she is a husky, bred for pulling. I let her pull and lead when she has a harness on. A collar no. She knows the difference. As far as aggressive? I have a sign in my shop that says: "Caution, overly affectionate husky on duty." Other dogs? She thinks they are all part of her pack. If I wanted a well-trained dog, one lacking personality, I would have gotten a malte-poo or one of those doodle dogs. I want her to retain her Siberian husky personality, heritage, and at times, even her stubborn nature. But that's me and my rescue Loba.
One more thing. Feeding. They should be eating raw food. Not supermarket meat, but biologically appropriate foods as would be consumed by a carnivore in the wilderness. A diet that contains muscle meat, some bone, heart, lung, liver etc. This can be purchased at small pet food stores. Some of the brands available are: Vital Essentials, Stella and Chewys, Bravo, Northwest Naturals, Steve's (by the case) and many more. Research the raw. You will have one happy and healthy Husky. I guarantee it. Watch on Netflix a documentary..."Pet Fooled." Get back to me and let me know what you think.
My puppy is 4 months old he can sit on command and stop when we walk together. Hes really smart but the only thing i cant teach him is to stop barking all the time, i know what kind of dog i have but his barking is just out of control at this point and he dosent seem to listen when i tell him to stop, he barks even more like hes having fun in annoying me lol Any advice would be great tnx.
I’m in central Texas too... I have 4 huskies.

2 are psycho 🤷♂️

Bruce N sounds like u need some training before you can train a dog

DINOMITE22 stop being a selfish idiot. There are people out there that cannot hear.

no sound at all would've been preferable to that disgusting music
