I honestly thought The Orson Welles Show was lost media. Even Wikipedia told me so! I couldn't find clips until I found out who the guests were. This is surreal stuff.
Genius is right. I've been lucky enough to have a long conversation about the film industry with Jim before college. Genius but also gifted with vision/foresight❤😉🎶
I love how Welles is genuinely awestruck by the fact that Jim didn't grow up with the thing he turned into his craft at all. The genuine terror in his voice when he turns it over to "Frank?" is real. He's saying, "Well, fuck, I dunno what to do now!"
Wow, the edits are HARD in this 😂. It's phenomenal seeing these three together and Orsons obvious reshoots are hammy and wonderful but also profound. Thanks for sharing this.
"We've all been there, at least before we were... dumb enough to grow up. Well, Frank never left" What a beautiful thing to say. When he dies, someone say that at the funeral. Let's hope that's not for decades. It's sweet to hear Orson giving such respect to something that's uh, not entirely in his wheelhouse. I mean he even talks about Sesame Street. Given how derisive he was toward Transformers, I'm glad he could still stretch a bit.
This was rebuilt so much in the editing room that Orson's one-shots are on film, while the rest of the interview is on video! Crazy stuff. Thanks for finding and posting this!
In my childhood community/ reserve up north, cbc station--) one of my safe haven...I had traumatic experiences...Seasme Street and the Muppet Show, Fragile Rock was my safe haven...Sne kalyegh 🤲

Lucky!!
Oh I'm so jealous. He died 10 days before I was born 😭

It makes so much sense. He didn't have any of those preconceptions in his head, so he was able to make something genuinely new.
What a gem
Frank Oz is so damn funny! I couldn’t imagine the Muppets without him and Richard Hunt.

So Dope! I love Frank and Jim! They made my childhood magical! And even to this day, they are my favorite to watch!
You can hear a little bit of Fozzie’s voice n Frank Oz when he talks and a little bit of Kermit’s voice in Jim Henson when he talks.

TWO GENIUS !!!! WELLES AND HENSON !!!!
Yes, visionaries
Here from the documentary, of course. I can't believe this was never picked up... and at the same time I totally can ;) Loss for the culture though.
The interviewers face when they said they dont "cute-ify" the muppets, 😂. He was. Like 😮"what?why? How dare you" 😂😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
"You never saw a puppet??..." 😂🤣

"Good lord.. we're on film!"
It’s like if calculon from futurama was interviewing muppets 🤣😍
That’s fitting because Maurice LaMarche, the voice actor for Calculon, has voiced Orson Welles on multiple shows.
When Fozzie slicks down his eyebrows 🤦😂😂😂
Brilliant 👏 thanks so much 😂❤❤❤❤❤
Jim henson interviewed. Mostly OZ
Why does Orson keep asking me these questions? 😭
❤🤗😊

Standard HW contract.
This was 1979, not 1975
Fixed it thank you @JaydenLibranVO
Why is this edited like "The Other Side of the Wind"?
Orson Welles is one odd dude. 😳 And he sure likes the sound of his own voice and is satisfied with his own importance isnt he? Yikes.
Maybe you should look up
Who Orson Welles was Laura.
@@GenXamericaI'm aware of who he is, thank you. I'm allowed to state my opinion. Rosebud.
I'm also satisfied with his own importance. I think he's fucking hilarious.
This is so choppy it looks like something put together by an AI.
Orson recorded his part later.
