As a chubby girl with blonde hair I was called Miss Piggy several times when I was in high school and always surprised me that people thought that was an insult
I would take it as a compliment. She is beautiful, classy, smart, fashionable, elegant, and kindhearted. And very protective of those she loves. All very admirable qualities.
When i say this is one of THE BEST INTERVIEWS!!!!! This was awesome. I love how they are preserving Jim Henson's legacy. And i love how they showed how her legacy was created. Great job CBS!!! The eye was definitely on the prize!!
Frank Oz has expressed (not in so many words) that Disney has caused the Muppets to lose their edge, to tame the chaos that they are supposed to be generating at all times. I tend to agree with him, and I would LOVE to see the folks at Disney prove him wrong. That said, did you see the "Muppets: Mayhem" series that came out about a year ago? It wasn't perfect, but there was a lot they got right. The singular focus on the Electric Mayhem was inspired IMO.
As a kid with no friends, I loved all of Jim Henson creation. Kermit and Ms Peggy both are my fav. When Mariah Carey hit the scene, I swore up and down that Miss Peggy became human. As a grown man, I am still waiting for that collaboration to happen.
I think they made Miss Piggy look like Mariah on purpose, in the last ~20 years. They’ve changed her look some over the decades. (This latest iteration looks less like Mariah.)
Jim Henson and the Muppets have been part of my life since I was very little, I remember seeing my first episode at age 4 and I've been hooked every since. I'm 41 now and I still watch the Muppets and anything else the Henson company creates! When I learned that they weren't in fact living things but puppets, the illusion wasn't destroyed, it was changed into a deep admiration for those that can make foam and felt feel so real! I was devastated when Jim passed, it was like losing a member of my family, but I am so happy that his legacy has lived on through his children and all those that worked with him and is going into the future with people that still think his vision has merit. Sure, there have been some flops and controversies over the years, but what company hasn't had setbacks? The fact they bounce back and continue to be inspirations is what matters! He set out to entertain, educate and foster hope, all of which we need more of nowadays.
No disrespect to Frank, especially since this clip aired on his 80th birthday, but the current performer has had the character since 2001 - more than 20 years now. The baton has long since been passed.
5:58 Miss Piggy as the Statue of Liberty with a mini-Muppet marching band. Piggy also played Lady Liberty in the "Muppets Live" stage show in the '80s, flanked by flag-bearing Kermit and Scooter on roller skates.
I have always had a a lot of respect for miss piggy. She’s just one of those piggies that just really worked their way up to the top, from out of the barn. Ya know? Lol
I click so fast ❤ #DisneyDiva ❤ Lol I recently went to Disneyland back in March for my birthday. And i told the cast members i don't mean to act like a Diva like Miss Piggy. N he told me no one cant act more Diva than Miss Piggy lol..
I love this❤️ ive absolutely LOVE the muppets for several years. So glad there still getting flowers and shine Jim Henson truly was a genius with a purpose 🙏
It's so ironic, the amount of comments is exactly 50 as of writing LOL but yeah no, say what you will, Miss Piggy has staying power as strong as Madonna and Oprah. It's amazing how much of an impact a lig has made on the industry.
I love Miss Piggy!!! Even at age 54, she is still my favorite. I have a Miss Piggy and an Animal doll that travel with me wherever I go. Kermit broke her heart so he can't go. 🤬🤣😅
This year also marks the 45th anniversary of the original Muppet Movie, so it's really cool how long the Muppets have stuck around with us. Also, yeah. Miss Piggy doesn't age. She slow roasts. 😂
"There's a little Miss Piggy in all of us"?🙂You got that right🙂Long Live Miss Piggy, and thanks very much for this feature, CBS Mornings🙂Regards, Michael M. Kamau, Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa, 16th June 2024.
Whether Miss Piggy wants to admit it or not, happy 50th anniversary to her! The Muppets wouldn't be the same without her. After all, she's the one who does a lot of the fighting, especially in the first three movies. Mad scientists, cat burglars, and purse snatchers are no match for her! Of course, Miss Piggy is right when she says that the best is yet to come. Recently, Kermit was added to the Disney Speedstorm game as a mid-season racer for the Wreck-it Ralph Season. Miss Piggy herself is planned to be the mid-season racer for the next season, the Inside Out season. I naturally suspect that she will be a brawler and Foo-Foo, her pet dog, will be her Epic crew member. 🐖💋
Miss Piggy has been an inspirational figure. Her devotion to children and women's rights cannot be equaled. And though certain factions downplay her by saying her fame is only by her connection to Kermit, she is a power unto herself.
Imagine if we got a new Muppet movie where Miss Piggy is the leading character and the rest of the Muppets (including Kermit, sorry) are the sideline characters as usual. What kinda Miss Piggy movie could it be about though?
I have loved Miss Piggy since I was a kid--am always going to be her Fan, and Love her! I love how she has grown as a performer and a personality and I love love LOVE her as an Icon--Frank Oz gave her life and well the new performer is doing a fantastic job--I had had no idea that her voice was SWITCHED! That is awesome and shows the talent of the new guy--he totally has continued her legacy and I hope she goes on for another 50 years or more;)
She hasn't aged a day.
She's had fillers.
She did have some work done early in her career but other than that she still looks the same and amazing for her age.

I love how people really treat Muppets like real people 😊
That's cause they are.
@@Digital_Ninja279 facts
What are you talking about, they are real.
One time I wanted to write a letter to Kemit, but my mom insisted that it was worthless to do
Kingpacman,
What do you mean “ like “ real people?😠
That reporter almost got karate chopped when she called The Divine Ms Piggy 50
Yikes 😆😆
Pork-Chopped
Hiya
Hiya😂
As a chubby girl with blonde hair I was called Miss Piggy several times when I was in high school and always surprised me that people thought that was an insult
As a chubby girl, I was also called Miss Piggy. I was offended until I saw this interview. Miss Piggy is awesome.
Trisha Paytas always got called that too. She embraced it eventually also
I would take it as a compliment. She is beautiful, classy, smart, fashionable, elegant, and kindhearted. And very protective of those she loves. All very admirable qualities.
I think she's a baddie
Omg!
"You were talking about our combined age!
Together,we are 50!"😂
I have to admit I thought the response was very clever. Definitely took me off guard.
Miss piggy doesn’t reveal her age.
@@martingardner9124she’s 25
The genius is that her appearance has, in fact, evolved over the years. So it’s not hard to imagine her having a history.
Seems very fitting this broadcasts on Frank Oz’s 80th birthday ❤🎉
Geez! Frank Oz is 80??? NOT Yoda!
Omg really
Wow, my mother almost his age.
I can’t believe Ms piggy is 50. She’s just as youthful and vivacious as she was when she was 22 in muppet treasure island.
You're a frog. You're supposed to have cold feet.
More like in her 80s
Miss Piggy is so stunning and beautiful 😍
She reminds me of Amy Schumer.
Yes she is and she knows it!
@@joeybaseball7352 Amy Schumer, that i don't like has been compared to her by some RUclips commenters. I prefer Miss Piggy.
That was WONDERFULand to be aired on Frank Oz's 80th birthday, none the less!
Ms. Piggy the true Diva
She's the ultimate diva
Here I am celebrating my 40th birthday and still in love with the Muppets!! 🥰
Same ❣️
i’m celebrating my 30th year!
Omg, I just turned 40, too! My birthday was about 3 weeks ago.

I wish they would make shows like this today. I remember watching the Muppets in the 80s on CBS. One of my favorite childhood shows! Oh the memories!
The new Muppets Mayhem show in Disney+ is really good!
They did an awesome show on CBS I think in 2015(??) It was so good! They took it off for some reason. 😒
I love the Muppet Show, I used to watch in the late 80s-early 1990s.
@@StrongnBeautifulabc. It only ran a season
If you were watching in the 1980s, you were watching the last season of the original series since it ran from 1976 to 1981.
I've been in LOVE with this woman for decades.
My GF knows...& feels the same way too.
Lmao
I loved her dynamic with Joan Rivers. Hilarious 😂😂
I love the Muppets they are incredible. I wish Disney would do more with them for the younger generations to enjoy them like I have.

I agree. I feel like it’s the same with Looney Tunes. Warner Bros. doesn’t use them as much as they could.
They did a Muppets show reboot about 10 years ago on CBS. It was so good! They never should have canceled it.
They did, they separated ms piggy and kurmet, and made them woke
Miss Piggy is such a queen👑, I will always have a soft spot in my heart❤ for her & all of the Muppets!:)☺️

Please! Don't Ever tell Mariah that! I don't think She'll take it Well! But I will say Your Not Absolutely Wrong Either.🐷🐸
Brother, it was a blessing in disguise that you had no friends. I hope you came out successful. No friends means a private life and no haters.
I think they made Miss Piggy look like Mariah on purpose, in the last ~20 years. They’ve changed her look some over the decades. (This latest iteration looks less like Mariah.)
I had friends, but I was socially awkward and anxious, and I still am, so LI love the Muppet Show, Sesame Street, and Muppet movies.
"Weight-gain" Mariah, maybe, but she was quite thin when she debuted with her first hit "Vision of Love" in 1990 as a 21-year-old.
Congratulations to Miss Piggy on all your success. You look just beautiful!!

You forgot in this piece to mention Miss Piggy was designed after actress Loretta Swit from MASH.
