in my opinion the one in borderlands pre sequel is better
although i played SW2 2 or 3 times, i've never stumbled at this moment, when Lo Wang sings the beatles, but i've found another musical reference in SW2. Sometimes during carnage Lo Wang will hum the titulary line from Rage Against The Machine "Killing in The Name".

For the "Max Payne", I don't think so, cause... Poets of the Fall cooperates with Remedy Games from Max Payne 2 till Alan Wake 2 (meaning Alan Wake, Control, Alan Wake 2. Also they are in the games as "The Old Gods of Asgard) + the song "War" by POTF, is whole about Alan Wake.
