  • Just a quick video showing how I make some of my background FX pads. These are designed to add movement and drive during breaks. I created this one from scratch using Sylenth and in FL Studio. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for this! This is exactly what I was looking for. I really cannot say enough about how much I appreciate that you built everything from scratch, no magic preset and everyone can follow along. The outcome is stellar, thanks again! Sub'd

Thank you for the compliments and the sub! Glad this was of some help for you! Creating background pads like this can help loads in giving some movement to breaks in music. Simple yet effective. While I do use presets from time to time for sounds, 99% of the time I tweak them to where I want them to be. Stuff like this or basses I typically make from scratch. Thanks again for the watch and that he helped you!

The track this is from is Derek Palmer & Hidden Tigress - Frozen In Time. I have the official video on my channel and it is out in all stores and streaming sites!

Hey Derek, big fan! Where do you normally go to for these pad sounds?!

I typically create most of my pads from scratch, as seen in this video. Most use Sylenth1 or Spire for the sound. FSS does have some good sound sets with some nice pads on them though.

Will you do a tutorial on how you create your pads other than this one?

I hope to do more yes, I'm wanting to cover all major assets of a track, just haven't had time to do it yet.

I don't have a preset for this specific pad. In instances of these, I usually don't save a preset for them and just make them as I go on a track. But I show the entire workflow for making this background pad in the video.

certainly a background pad, it was so quiet at the end

Yep, designed for atmosphere instead of in your face. (That's what the super saw pads are for).
