Darth Sidious Teaches Darth Vader How To Fight Like A Sith - Star Wars

- How did Darth Sidious teach Darth Vader to embrace the power of the dark side? After sending Vader to create his own Sith lightsaber, Palpatine knew that his new apprentice needed to let go of his inhibitions and Jedi training.
He accomplished this by showing Vader that his lightsaber was merely a symbol of the immense power he now held over the galaxy. By using the Force to manipulate nearby debris, Palpatine demonstrated the destructive capabilities that the Sith must embrace. In other words, the real power of the Sith was in their mastery of the Force, not their weapons. Fast forward more than two decades, and Vader would use this same lesson to test his son's Force abilities on Bespin. Palpatine's lesson had a profound impact on Vader, shaping him into the ultimate instrument of his will and cutting any remaining ties to his former life as a Jedi Knight.

Basically the old Yoda oh, you must unlearn what you have learned except to do evil
The only character Disney consistently gets right.
Of course Disney get a sith right.....
@@Samael6685 what's that supposed to mean? Everyone in upper management is a hut, and everyone in the story group are winning vengeful twits. Nothing like Paul, Sadow, kresh, andedu, Vitiate, malgus, bane, zanna, tenebras. . .wait, none of those are cannon anymore. . .
@@darthazgorath9570 you have your point.... Chapeau
@@Samael6685 what do you mean?
@@darthazgorath9570 i didn't think of Disney boss as the Hutt, but it's actualy quite fitting.
So that's why Vader saw the power of the Force as superior to the power of the Death Star! He really took The Emperor's teachings to heart, hence why Vader is quick to point out to Motti that the Death Star's power is nothing compared to the power of the Force, which ironically was proven when Luke Skywalker relied upon the Force to destroy the Death Star!
Yeah but all of that is simbolic as nothing the force does can imitate what the deathstar did
@@Yokai_Yuri I mean, in legends, Aleema Keto was tricked by Exar Kun into creating supernovae using the Force, which resulted in the destruction of Ossus. There's also Darth Nihilus destroying all life on Katarr, and Tenebrae doing the same for Ziost.
@@exaggeratedswaggerofablackteen wasn't legends luke also so strong that he could destroy planets with the force if he wanted?
@@jankurfurst6988 idk I haven't read much post-RotJ content yet
Or that he studied ancient sith like Nilus thst could destroy planets with the force.
“The sith are powerful through the force and not weopons”
Sidious later : time to build super weapon that waste resources and rely on it to keep power.
He did it because he needed to pacify the galaxy so that he could have the time and peace to explore/ study the mysteries of the dark side of the force and grow stronger still in it , if he had to constantly rule the galaxy and put down rebellions sidious could not do his research undistracted, hence why he had the grand moffs and regional governors to govern in his stead and the death star to act as his nuclear deterrent to planets and systems revolting.
In fact in the star wars what if comic series , in the one about what would happen in new Hope if the rebels failed to destroy it over yavin 4, the death star worked so well in pacifying descent that it became a symbol of victory in eyes of the citizenry of the empire that it was rebranded the Victory Star .
@@RichterfanReborn89 it was a joke.
cause nobody fears, that what they cant see. So a moon laser brings more fear, than him making someone float like fucking harry potter
@@mrwatermelo50 on top of that, Palpatine did not want to let too many people know that he was a Sith himself, because he had promoted mistrust of force-sensitive people to cement his grip on power, as they were the only ones who could effectively challenge him directly.
Tbf it was a deterrent kinda like nukes. Also tarkin was responsible for the death star.
He taught him by screaming, POWAHHHHH!
Can imagine what Vaders Force Scream would sound like if Palpatine taught him how to do it?
oh god
😳
His vocal cords were burned
NOOOOOOOO!!
And Obi-wan did the same thing to Vader during the Kenobi series. This was clearly intentional mirror to what Palpatine did, so I wonder what new Vader comic will enviably be worked on to explain how Palpatine justified how a Jedi can do the same thing.
I am the senate
They won't do anything because that show retconned so much without respect to the canon. They turned both Obi Wan and Vader into dumb fools, when they could've done the opposite to both.
@@hamstey1603 No one cares about your headcanon.😂
@@jerricho11 it's the truth lmao. If you think a show where a Jedi master and trained bounty hunters couldn't catch a 9 year old girl did research on the source material, then I have news for you lmao. Also, you cannot seriously look someone in the eyes and say Reva was a good character or the production didn't look at least somewhat cheap 😂😭
@@hamstey1603 No offense but I just think you are a bit of a spoiled SW fan who thinks if a show that isn't a 10/10, than it must be 1/10 trash. Was it a perfect show? No, but it doesn't deserve all the hate it's received. And it didn't make Obi-wan weak, it gave him a logical story arc considering he survived a genocide of his entire people at the hands of the person he raised like a son/brother. He's justifiably emotionally destroyed an has been in hiding for the past decade. Him rediscovering himself isn't a weakness, it's the natural next step for his character growth. And as for your complaints about one or two campy scenes, let's face it, the show follows the prequels trilogy, the campiness works because the prequels were campy too.
So I completely disagree with everything you've said about the series. I think Obi-wan is a legacy character and he deserves to have a season 2 that's even better than season 1. Is their room for improvement? Yes, that's why we need a second season. Obi-wan can't end with S1. It feels unfinished. I want to see him training will Qui-gon and reunite with Commander Cody as well as have the concept of control chips FINALLY be brought to live action. As a General and friend to Cody, he deserves the know what happen to his men and that he wasn't actually betrayed by his battalion. Season 2 has so much promise as long as it remains on Tatooine and follows what I said but also Luke being kidnapped by the Hutts or something like that. The added reason this season should happen is it would show us how bad the Hutts are and give more of a reason for why Boba Fett's takeover was so important.
It’s really amazing how Palpatine’s insights explain to Vader why he doesn’t need he’s lightsaber necessarily all the time but still Sidious whom keeps his and only uses it as a last resort or for emergencies aka if Emperor Palpatine uses the force in public people are gonna die….alot of people
So basically...sith utilized, believed in, practiced, and studied the force more than the jedi? Nice
Jedi has a great record of losing their best knights including dooku, snoke, ashoka n anakin
Snoke was never a jedi, he wasn't even born in that era. 💀💀
Snoke is Palpatine's pickled science project
Dooku wasn't a knight
@@roachmcroachy4468you're right,he wasn't
He was a Master...
Snoke??? Wtf
The jedi should have utilised the force more often
Even just to calm themselves or discover the truth (such as sensing guilt in a murder case, or other things along those lines) as well as more conspicuously and conventionally in combat or to scale obstacles.
@@JohnGeorgeBauerBuisthe Jedi believed that the force should guide them, not be used by the them.
They only used the force if absolutely necessary.
The sith believe the force is a tool for them to use.
I always wondered how the dark side of the force never made the sith go absolutely nuts.
It does, there's plenty examples of this in SWTOR as Sith you encounter regularly go mad with their power
I had a question on why Vader uses the force a lot more than normal during a light saber fight, like when he fought Obi-Wan in the show. Seeing this video it makes a lot more sense.
Yeah he had to release his inhibitions and feel the rain on his skin
I like how it was hard for them, back in the day, to show Vader ripping apart the structures around him, and cast them at Luke. It's an impressive visual trick, one that they didn't have as great a benefit from CGI. It was all practical.
Fast forward to today, when Vader embraces the force to do this exact same thing with Cal, but everything is flying at you/him; What isn't nailed down, what is nailed down, and even the _friggen floor!_
But it _also works,_ because Cal is a remnant of the Jedi, he owns Vader's full ire whether he deserves it or not, but Vader has figured out that Luke is his son, so he's not trying to crush him with this trick, as much as he's trying to give the same display Palpatine gave him.
I likes it!
The good old "If you can dodge a wrench you csn dodge a ball" approach.
Really interesting
Palpatine didn't cut or order Vader to cut one of his last tide to his former life: Padme Not-Padme. That was kind of him.
The ultimate instrument of destruction! Lord Vader! 🧐
Jedi are the best 💯
Nah sith FTW
Sith
From a certain point of view
Sith all day. If it were real not many would be Jedi’s. All dark side
@@data9594 that's why they're the best. only a few could and would be them, while most fall to the dark side.
Sidious was right in this regard. The force is basically god in their universe, and nothing is more powerful than it. Vader stated this specifically in A New Hope. Even Yoda would agree to that, they just go about using the powers it’s granted them for different purposes.
He threatened Vader with cheek-busting
Palpinte is a wonderful father figure
Ludwig Kaiser push is great
And rewind just a couple of years, and Vader is flinging all kinds of shit at our favorite Jedi Ginger
Epic character
💫🦬.
He did all that along with a strange amount of improper touch
It is true he did this to me
Who is responsible for writing the offices stories?
What is this mystical music ?
So basically… Palps hucked a few rocks at him.
UNLIMITED POWERRRRRRR
Anakin was a fool
Sooo... He sent him to build a lightsaber. And then showed him how useless a lightsaber is? Great motivation training. xD
With the dramatic change from Anakin to Vader, and knowing that Sidious didn't train him much, wouldn't each lesson be valuable to Vader?🤔...
What comic is that?
True 👍 ✔ 👍 ✔ 👍 😊
The ability of The Sith to use The Force is more important than they're weapons" is something Empiror Palpatine WOULD say to Vader.🤔
The debris was sand 😮
Anakin grew up
Still Palpatine failed to defeat Yoda with either.
So, useless words.
Yoda did it first and better.
Look all Anakin had to do, was not get involved in Mace Windu, and Darth Sidious.
Cut the bullshit. I'm more interested what happened to Vader between episode 5 and 6 that made Luke start to see the light side remaining in his father.
So the Jedi value the lightsaber as a weapon, but for the Sith the only true weapon is The Force. Shouldn't that be the other way around, with the Sith fetishising lightsabers, and the Jedi taking a broader view?
"Look I know you're one of, if not the greatest duelist in the galaxy, but let's be honest.. light sabers are kind of shit." -Sidious, probably
By the power of bad writing
How? He told Vader to kill unarmed 'younglings'. Spoilers: George Lucas wrote Vader to do that, not Sidious.
Never saw Vader force pull a star destroyer, just sayin'
This is the main reason I kinda hate Yoda's character in the prequels. It also kinda makes Palpatine's movie representation as a misunderstanding of both of their characters. The two most powerful and wise characters, who are the most in touch with the force, spinning and jumping around with lightsabers. Not to mention Yoda's actions throughout the whole trilogy.
Yoda is weak
U didnt write the movie lucas did. So anything in movies is accurate.
Vaders the balance tho...this b bs.
Justs like rey being the new ani. Disney is not cannon. Reason pal let ani lose limbs is to cripple him. Palp haves a largest kyber he draining
