Tension or not that concert that night the band was on fire! Was one of the best KISS concerts I've ever been to and I've been to almost 50 shows. That night was special!
Longest farewell tour in history; 21 years and counting. But I’m glad I got to see them on this tour early enough on the enthusiasm of being reunited was still there. One of the greatest concerts I’ve ever seen.
@@curtekstrom9531 Paul makes the decisions now. Pretty much has been since 2000. This current farewell is only the second; with only two original members. There was a reunion of the original members 1996, a tour for the subsequent album 1998, then the first farewell to the original lineup 2000 (in this clip above). They've never shared a stage to perform again since.
@@annwilkiemeyer7655 they had been on tour for over a year, I'm sure everyone was ready for it to be over. The only thing good about touring is the actual time on stage, I can imagine the other 22 hours is horrible
God... it was so falling apart all over again at this point. Just four years into the reunion. They made it about 6 years the first go around. Two tough, street-wise, fighters who loved to party and two straight-laced Jewish guys... that can't end well...
One of my biggest memories, and my dads favorite part of the '79 Dynasty show, was the circular sparkling pyro at the end of Black Diamond. They first used this on the '79 Dynasty tour.
When I was a kid, they did a show in my home town my sister and her friends went to. The next day we were in the park and ran into kiss! Of course we younger kids had no idea who they were but my sister and her friend hung out with them and sent us kids off to play. I didn't know till many years later they were smoking a joint with some of the members from kiss and this was way back in the early seventies in maconaquah park in Peru, IN.
The 1996 Reunion Show was great👍 Me and my brother went, it was my early Christmas present to him. He was so hyped (like the last time we saw them in 1979) that he almost got in a fight after the show. A couple of college kids flipped us the bird and big bro went after them, so naturally I backed big brothers play. They jumped in their car and locked the door, traffic started moving and we lost them, I was glad. My big brother is a beast, I felt bad for those boys...Crazy Night indeed (pun fully intended lol)
Peter is an AMAZING drummer. I could listen to him play all day long. He has truly been given an incredible gift to play those. He is my all time favorite!
Wow!!! What a killer video of this great night. l was at the Forum In Inglewood Ca. Aug 26th 1977 the night they recorded KISS ALIVE II and this was so great to go back in time and see pretty much the same exact show. I've seen lots of claims from different band members, critics and the lot but Peter killed it and ACE was dead on both of them played so well that night and of course Paul & Gene gave it all. I was fortunate enough to meet Paul one day at a coffee shop and he sat down with my wife kid and I. He was the nicest rock star I'd ever met and I've met a bunch. He thought that was such a cool story and I'll forever remember what a cool guy he was.
I can relate to them not getting along. I’ve played in a band where the guitarist and I didn’t liked each other, add the singer into the mix, we just didn’t see eye to eye, but on stage we could jam together and had magic of our own. As a kid in the 70’s and 80’s going to a kiss concert was my biggest wish. But living on Hawaii I knew they would never do a concert here. And today my wish still stands but not as much as when they had the four original members. Just something about the four original with their makeup was something magical. Now they’re a halfway cover band with two guys imitating Ace and Peter. Still they put on the best show hands down.
I guess Paul and Gene lost their smiles when Peter talks ....... Not a easy thing when all these guys gets together withouth fun and friendship....just money baby, MONEY 💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰💰
I suppose they tried to make it work with this reunion but you can obviously tell they ha a lot of tension between them. It's always been Gene and Paul vs Ace and Peter.
Thats pretty cool of Tommy to film this, we never know what goes on backstage in regards to prep so it's neat to see and neat to also see Tommy's transition into being a member of the band. It is awesome too to see them all interact together and how sweet Ace was to his daughter. And that's cool how Paul warms up his voice too.
