- I love using my GoPro to take pictures and record video when I'm riding my motorcycle. I've got rather good at it over the years filming for both personal and professional use. Chin mounts are by far my favourite mounting point for recording GoPro footage on a motorcycle and in this video I compare three different options; sticker mounts, cheap strap mounts, and the Dango Gripper Mount.

Henry, I just picked up a Dango to use on my Shoei Neotec 2 Modular helmet. Getting that chin cowling out so the Dango could clip in was a challenge! Great review-it helped me make up my mind....

I looked at this, but had to pass because of the lack of chin curtain use and not looking to Mar the finish.
I found the GoPro Chesty works well. You can play around with the position of it too. 😁👍
Yeh I have one but I find the angle a little bit low on some bikes & I like that the camera moves with my head with a helmet mount. The Dango mount is great because you can clip and unclip really easily. Good to have options though!
@@HenryCrew35 Options are a good thing! I’ve been fortunate as I’ve just used it on upright naked bikes, including my Speed Triple!

How about mounts for helmet visor for open face helmet?
Love the concept of the Dango but be careful. It won't fit all helmets equally well and can come loose. I lost one dirt riding (my bad for not having it tethered).
I’ve seen those clamps about and not known what they’re called. A bit out of my price range so I’ll have to put it on the wish list for now.

I bought the Dango design after I bought a new helmet. I didn’t want to stick a 3m mount on my new lid
Have you looked at the mount that Noraly from ItchyBoots is using? Big downside of course is that it mounts permanently to your helmet, but it does look like a good product!

What is the riding impact of removing the chin curtain to install the gripper? Increase in wind going into the helmet? Thanks.
Yeh just wind noise
The Dango is a great mount, but not the solution for me as it will not clip over the chin curtain. My only option is to remove the curtain, but since I ride lots of miles in all kinds of weather, not sure I want to do that. Not gonna return the Dango as there are so many places to attach it to my bike, just a wash as a chin mount....
Yeh the chin mount can be a little frustrating with a curtain, on my shoei the curtain can be positioned with the chin mount clipped over it but it does mean the mount slides slightly over time. Great if you’re on a solo content mission or using a helmet without one.
@@HenryCrew35 Yes, I think I might need to put an adhesive mount on the side of the Neotec to make this really work. I already have a Sena on the other side for comms with my girlfriend when we are two up....which is most of the time. I do have several other helmets if I go solo, but that Neotec2 is dang comfortable, LOL
Does that triumph street triple overheats.
I never had an issue although it did run quite hot. A few of my friends had repeated problems with overheating when riding in a city on a hot day.

Cool video! As well as the mounts, how do you record audio?
Normally I just record through the gopro and overdub if necessary. With the hero 8/9 you need the media mod to be able to plug in an external mic which is probably the best option for moto vlogs :)
