- Once considered a Super Power in Norway, Rosenborg has not registered a league title since 2018.
The club boasts an impressive 26 league titles in its history but has fallen behind teams like Molde and Bodo/Glimt in the pecking order for Norwegian football.
Today we will be taking charge of Rosenborg to try and take them back to the top and perhaps even achieve some continental success but we will be doing this only using Norwegian players.

I have always made content throughout my professional career, however, it has always been for someone else. In May 2020 I decided that it was time to create something for myself. Football Manager has always been a game that I have loved so wanted to take this opportunity to share some of the tips and tricks that I've learnt!

Rosenberg is one of those teams that was always in the Champions League then they disappeared. Cool rebuild. Nypan is incredible.

@@HoodGamingUK I hope they can turn things around but it gonna take some time. Last season was the worst in 40 years when they ended as nr. 9 in the league. It can only go upwards from this I hope😆

I’m in 2029 playing in Norway. Started at Loddefjord, then Hodd, and am currently managing Viking.
Fun fact: Roy Hodgson managed Viking from 2004-2005!
Very enjoyable rebuild (bar my views on the amount of transfers). Seeing how some of the obscure leagues work is really interesting to see and is a nice change from the “oh it must be a top 5 league team” rebuild most want to see. 🤘
Yeah this was a good one to do hoovering up all of the young talent!

Funny to think the only team in the capital in top flight is a newly promoted team with 1500 capacity stadium now that Vålerenga relegated. Oslo is a very interesting city in the new winter update.
I did it 2 years ago one of my favorite save all time
Vålerenga will not be on fc25 cause they got relegated. But my team KFUM will cause they got pro,oter to the Eliteserien

@@HoodGamingUK done in 6th season. Best of Scandinavian talent + Wanner and Garnacho on loan, both scored in the UCL final vs Bayern Munich.

Tiresome(?) English-pronounciation-of-Norwegian-names-jokes aside, nice rebuild :) Fun fact: Markus Solbakken is the kid of current RL national team manager Ståle Solbakken. I played against dad Ståle's then club Aalborg at Club la Santa on Lanzarote when we went there on a school trip back in 1999 (We were absolutely hammered by Aalborg, but we did beat Bolton U18 and some local players XI!) 😅
See now this is actually good to know. I do want to get better at pronunciations of non-British players. However, I know I’m woeful at it

A good rule of thumb when it comes to Norwegian names (/words in general, even tho' there are several exceptions to both), is to "always" pronounce it how it is written, not add sounds for the various syllables.
Try saying each individual sound (not how you would "say the letter") individually, then put them together :)

RFecently I rebuild a lower League Swedish team with only scandinavian players, but unfortunately had to exit as the board was not increasing my wage budget nor my transfer budget even though I won the league and played european football. Great Rebuild as always, though!
That is always the worry with some of these nations.
Nypan. I've managed in Iceland a couple of times and the Jan-Dec seasons take a bit of getting used to, makes me want to give Norway a go though.

Fun to see a Norwegian rebuild. It's the league I follow in real life. As a Lillestrøm fan I don't have much sympathy for Rosenborg though. Lillestrøm would also have been a good choice for a rebuild. They had their most succesful period in the 70s and 80s. Their last league title was in 1989. The biggest rivalry is against Vålerenga, but Rosenborg is pretty big too.

@@niklaspresthus3971 I assume you support Vålerenga. Vålerenga supporters would not understand that a rebuild is about transforming a team from not so great into something great. Vålerenga have never achieved greatness, despite their economic power. They even managed to find their way down into the 2nd tier with all the resources they have at their disposal. How is it even possible? At least they have the derby against Lyn to look forward to now. I am sure they will mobilize in full strength with all their 5 fans.

Will you consider doing a video on the Portuguese side Vitória de Setubal? It’s one of the biggest clubs outside of the Big Three and in one of the biggest cities, but due to financial mismanagement they have fallen all the way to the fourth tier of Portuguese football. Considering of how few clubs have won, they may require a ten year rebuild to finally crown themselves as Portuguese champions.

When i did my career where i managed Rosenborg for 3 seasons, i eventually sold Nypan for €16,5m to Bayern Munchen whom i coincidentaly went on to manage from that very same season :)

Im playing with Brann in Norway. In my first season Molde ended up at the bottom of the league and got relegated. Was quite weird
Did this with Scottish player in FM22 with Queens Park. Had a rule where I could use dual-nationlity players if they had no senior caps. I remember the keeper when he went up to a new age grade he would play for a different county ( France & Scotland).

Rebuild Odd, the oldest club in the country, Rosenborg initially stole their name. Most Cup wins, and a tradition of bringing up own talents.

@@HoodGamingUK I have to mention my local club Sønderjyske in the second tier, but I think FC Nordsjælland could be fun. They have produced Danish talents such as Andreas Skov Olsen, Mikkel Damsgaard and Mathias Jensen, but also Mohammed Kudus, Kamaldeen Sulemana and Andreas Schjelderup.
I bought Hartveit Ryste to Brann in FM23, absolute beast, think I got over 10M euros for him after two or three seasons as Norwegian top scorer
Can you please do a rebuild on Raufoss? It’s my home town and I have never seen Raufoss being in a video until now. And if you do can you please don’t sell Lauvli until 2026 as he is a club legend? And also “Nypan”

Sverre - Don't say "Swerry". The second "e" should sound the same way as the first "e", not "ee".
Halseth - Prounounced "Hal-set". Forget the english "th" at the end.
Nypan - Don't say "Nie-pan".The "y" should be pronounced like in "yolk". Imagine Cristiano Ronaldo's "Siiiiii".

Even without extra rules Norway isnt easy. Its where my main save (one of the no experience/badge ones) started and apart from no clubs having massive wages, it has one of the more restrictive registration rules of max 9 players in the registered 25 can be not HGN sides which essentially creates a "almost 100% success rate" requirement for foreign players as even if you sign them at 18 for two years they take up a limited slot.
