Wisla Krakow story is even more interesting because the club was saved by fans buying clubs shares and by ex-Dortmund star Jakub Blaszczykowski firstly lending the club money, then playing for it for minimal national wage and eventually becoming its co-owner Our club was a menace in 00s (won the league 6 times), third oldest polish club (2nd oldest existing) We were the last team to beat Barcelona in 2008 CL season, they went all the way to win it I've been to the game where we were winning 3:2 against Barcelona at half time in 2001 (eventually lost 3:4) We've beat Inter Milan 1:0 (I still got this ticket at home) We drawn 1:1 and lost 2:1 to Parma the season they won UEFA cup and demolished them 4:1 few years after Wisla has great footballing history and it deserves to get back on winning tracks so if you're looking for a save in central europe, come help us get where we belong :)
Another interesting club to manage in Finland would be TPS. They are one of the most recognizable brands in all of Finnish sports, not just football. They have been stuck in the second division for a few years and it would be fun to try to get them back to their glory days.
I have an interesting one as well. Rovaniemen Palloseura. They played in the Veikkausliiga for almost the entire 2010s even managing a second position back in the mid-2010s, but were relegated to Finnish second division a few years ago due to financial problems. And when I mean they were relegated to second division, I mean that they dropped straight from Veikkausliiga to second division because they didn't have enough money to play in the first division. Bringing them back up to the top level and then topping their all-time best finish of second place by winning the Finnish championship would be another interesting project
Finland is full of interesting saves. I'm playing as Käpylän Pallo, A club in Helsinki which is known for its youth. The first team is very young and the academy produces good players.
Quick reminder, It wasn't because of FC Porto (not Porto FC) that Salgueiros seized to exist. The city of Porto has 2 big clubs Boavista being also one of them, and they all coexist without any issue but are still city rivals. However Salgueiros has something that no other club in Portugal has. It said that the club was founded by two friends from the same area (Paranhos) that were actually rivals (one being from Porto the other from Benfica), that were sick of being rivals after watching a match together between Porto and subsequently Benfica. Salgueiros is actually a simbol of unity and friendship that gave the area of Paranhos something to be proud of.
I actually love Salgueiros, my highschool was really close to the old stadium. The club suffered a lot from financial problems, they got relegated and eventually they had to fund a new club, Salgueiros 08. The old stadium, Engenheiro Vidal Pinheiro, was sold to the city and yes, they used the land for a subway station, although you can still see the goalies and the old stand. They are also my current FM23 save, back to primeira liga, trying to steal unused players from the big 4 :D
@@Greivon1992 Completely true and quite sad they sold it to MdP. My best save ever in this kind of games (I play it since CM 97/98) was with Salgueiros 8 years going from campeonato de Portugal back to the PL. Before we had a new stadium we played funny enough 2 years (after we left Campanhã) in Infesta (Liga 3)and if I remember correctly Gondomar (2ª liga). After 1 year in PL we had a new stadium of 15 thousand people back in Porto. Also my best scorer was Vasco Paciência, following his father's footsteps. Enjoy the save like I did and steal all you can from the big 4/5. 💪
Actually, Vancouver FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps can face off in one domestic competition, at least for now: the Canadian Championship, a national cup that involves all of the CPL teams, the three Canada-based MLS teams (Montréal, Vancouver and Toronto) and a few teams from the Canadian semi-pro regional leagues!
...Which also means that they could *not* meet in the CONCACAF Champions League, since only the winner of the Voyageurs Cup qualified for the CCL, and that was Canada's only berth. Apparently this is ALL changing next year to coincide with the competition's name being changed to the CONCACAF Champions Cup: Now, the top two teams in the Canadian Premier League will receive berths _and_ Canadian teams will for the first time be eligible to qualify via MLS. Also, Canadian teams will be eligible to participate in the Leagues Cup, which awards CCC berths to the top two clubs, meaning that the Canadian MLS teams now have three ways to qualify for continental competition, and the CPL teams have two.
Also good luck winning the CONCACAF CL on a team with 1-2 million dollar a year salary cap that will never go away. Whitecaps can literally outspend you about x10. You'll be lucky if you can give your top players the literal minimum wage MLS requires.
@@BirdsvsCoathangers There's a guy who has done a Canadian megapatch for the past few versions that makes the salary cap progressively go up each year. Even without that though I managed to make the CCL semis with York United. It's doable with luck and being craft with wages
Another great option for Poland would be Ruch Chorzów - 14 time Polish champion, who due to financial issues saw relegation from the top flight to the 4th division, only to climb back up to the first division securing three promotions in a row. The club has a strong regional identity too, and is in need of a new stadium. I think it's an interesting save, on the level of Wisła
When it comes to Serbia i would like to mention several other clubs that could be fun: Vojvodina - a club with good historical success that never managed to assert itself over the big two. Help them become the first club outside the top two to win the Super League and/or qualify for a european competition. Radnicki Nis - biggest club in southern Serbia with a similar fate as Vojvodina though had even less success. Make them a regional powerhouse and help them win the league. Rad - a club with fierce fans that is down on its luck. This season they dropped out of the Serbian First league (second tier) but you can help them get back among the elite. Cukaricki - a very well run club with a small fan base. Among the best clubs in the country in the last 15 years with only one Cup trophy to show for. Help them rival the big two. Mladost Lucani - smaller club from a small town in central Serbia. Managed to stay in the super league for the past 9 years and was even the runner-up of the Serbian Cup several years ago. Use the power of the local Guca trumpets (the village of Guca is close to Lucani) to make Mladost a candidate for a trophy.
Another fun one in Denmark could be Esbjerg who are in the 3rd division in Danish football. A true fallen giant 5 danish titles with the last coming in 1979. And finished 3rd in the danish top division in 2018-2019 season. But due to financiel issues they know find themselves in the 3rd division. They were even close to bankruptcy this year
Another suggestion for Germany: Saarbrucken (3. Liga) played in the first Champions League as the champions of Saarland, which had its own national league in the 1950s. They also played in Ligue 2 once and unofficially won it
Hi. South African here. Former supporter of Kaizer Chiefs growing up (until my parents upgraded me in life and I started watching international football around 2004/05). Wanted to add a little context about the stadium Kaizer Chiefs, and a few other clubs, play in - the large capacity is a result of upgrades made when South Africa hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2010. Adrian, of the channel Rabona TV, made a video about Kaizer Chiefs and their rivalry with Orlando Pirates - the largest derby in the country. That ~90K stadium sells out whenever they play.
An actually original save idea from Sweden is Torslanda IK in the playable fourth tier. They have a cooperation with an academy from New Zealand so their head coach and key players originates from there which is odd, Make the Kiwis fly in Sweden.
12:47 fun fact about salon palloilijat, they actually signed Taye Taiwo (Marseille, AC Milan, QPR star) last season for couple games but he terminated his contract quite soon😢
For Singapore, I recommend a build a nation save with the national team and Young Lions. (I'm not a Singaporean so some of these info might be wrong, feel free to correct me) Young Lions are a development team that have an age restriction on player signings, specifically under 23, so it is a great place to build Singapore's next golden generations, distribute those players to the SPL teams, and lead the Singapore national team to an Asian Cup title or even a World Cup. I'm not too sure if they can qualify for the AFC Champions League/AFC Cup or not (I think they can't, like Albirex Niigata), but the save has so much more things to do than just winning titles season after season with Albirex.
I've played with Young Lions before. It was a challenge but fun. I think they indeed can't play in the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup, but due to their 20 youth recruitment you can spread the talent to the other clubs as they keep producing golden generations. I think the age restriction also includes that players in your squad are not allowed to be older than 23 so you have to sell these players or they rot in the reserves. There are similar clubs in Myanmar (Junior Lions) and Brunei (Tabuan Muda) that have the same or similar restrictions and act as teams to develop young players. I really like the concept and hope it helps each country in growing a bit. The best player in my Young Lions save was a half-german that came through my first youth intake and was bought by Bochum later on. When I ended the save, I used an outside tool to check his stats and he had a PA of 124.
An interesting story about Náutico is they were in the second division in 2005 and fighting for promotion, and they had a last match against Grêmio, whoever won that match would get promoted, but Grêmio had the advantage of only needing a draw. It was a home game for Náutico, and they were doing better, but the match was tense, so tense Grêmio had 4 players red carded, Náutico had a single one. Náutico had a penalty during the first half and they hit the post. At the second half, another penalty for Náutico, and the keeper saved. Right after the penalty was saved, Grêmimo counter attacked, got a free kick in which the Náutico player was red carded, they took it quickly and scored. This game is known as Batalha dos Aflitos
For Spain I reccomend my hometown club AD Ceuta FC, they are in fthe 3rd tier and the special thing is that the city of Ceuta is in the continent of Africa, so you could bring a UCL to Africa. Also they are newly promoted so its gonna be quite challenging.
Great idea. But in the previous collab for save ideas in European countries the two enclaves were suggested, so I think they wanted something else this time.
Dunno why but these save idea videos are so good. Probably cause I'm learning about the history of the clubs and trying to bring them to glory. Appreciate the videos! Hope you can make more!
I started a save in Südtirol 15 days ago & so excited to see you guys recommending the team for bringing the Serie A title. It's really a fun team to play with.
Small correction; oldest club from the Netherlands is Koninklijke HFC. They are playing on the third level of the dutch system so not in football manager unfortunately, also no promotion or relegation between the second and third level so we will probably not see my home town team in the game for a little bit. Great vid as all ways
If there isn’t any promotion/ relegation normally between the 2nd and 3rd division, is there any opportunity for clubs like Koninklijke to get back to the top divisions or how does this work in the Netherlands?
@@verrizemzzi alot of the clubs in the 3rd division dont want to get promoted because of financial reasons, in the past you had to oppurtunity to choose whether or not u wanted to get promoted but since a couple years the promotion/relegation system was frozen
what @verritzemzzi is saying is true, the last team to chose for promotion did go brankrupt within a few years. They are looking to open the system again but this will take a few more years most likely.
Pretty much no one in Sweden likes Östersund and a lot of people were glad they got relegated. I personally would recommend doing a youth save with Brommapojkarna since they have one of the best youth academies in Sweden. Most of our national team came from there. Or you could do Utsiktens BK who are leading the second division in real life for the first time ever. They’re a small club from Gothenburg and would have to rival some pretty big local clubs.
@@yashtiwari1189 the embezzlement thing for one, but they’ve also been very shady with some of the deals they’ve made. A club that went as far as they did in the Europa league and sold players for as much as they did should not be on the verge of bankruptcy just a few years later. They’ve barely been able to afford their elite license. It’s just a shady club basically
@@yashtiwari1189 Apart from Potter (who is respected by everyone here), that club is built on fraud. Their chairman did some tricky accounting and that is the foundation for their success sadly. Actually, the only reason they survived into the 2023 season is due to the fact that UEFA pays out a sum of money to each league that has participation in the Champions League the previous season. That sum is divided between the clubs who participated in the league that same season (in this case in 2021). That payment reached them just in time to avoid bankrupcy half a year ago. So they still exist because Malmö FF happened to play in CL in the last season Östersund played in Allsvenskan which is ridiculous and frustrating for everyone else. Good news is that their finances still suck and they probably will go bankrupt after this season instead.
@@TheRadPlayer I don’t remember the exact story, but I think that was one of the accusations. And that he basically moved money into and from a company/companies he owned to pay less tax or to get other advantages. His name is Daniel Kindberg if you wanna google the story.
I'd have gone with FC Andorra for Spain, a bit like the old San Marino challenge, can you build up the club to build the nation. Plus Pique bought them when he retired. I got them promoted to La Liga and despite being close to safety through the season they still sacked me before the end of it. Save over :)
@@minichalvo9818i took over mid-season on a team in the 2nd Argentinian division that was only 2 points off relegation (so disappearing from the game) and finished -2 goals away from the last promotion place having managed only 14 games and I got sacked when the board told me: 1. their expectations weren't high as i took over mid-season and 2. they wanted to battle against relegation the only time i ever rebooted a save because of a result, i replayed the last match of the season and got to the playoffs, that kept me the job. Might be scummy but that sacking felt really silly imo
Don't forget to mention that Puerto Madryn is not just in Patagonia, but Welsh Patagonia (or to give it its proper name, Y Wladfa). Some Welshmen started a settlement in Argentina to try to preserve the Welsh language, it didn't really work because there's not many Welsh speakers left in Argentina (estimates are 1,500-5,000 people, which is something like 2-7% of its 70,000 population) but it's an interesting nugget of information. The flag is quite cool. It may be interesting to attempt to return the region to its former Welsh-speaking origins and sign a lot of Welsh players.
My swedish recommendation would be IK Brage (currently playing in the 2nd highest div), They have the record for playing the most seasons in the 2nd highest division (56 seasons) and last time they competed in the highest division was in 1993. The most interesting part of this team is that they played in the Europa league twice and in of them they played against Inter Milan 1988-89 (notable players who played for this Inter team: Lothar Matthäus, Baresi, Brehme and Zenga) Brage only lost 2-1 both games. Since the 2000s they have played in the second, third and fourth tier of Swedish football and almost went bankrupt in 2014
Baník is best option in Czech Republic, by far the best fans in the country (their away days are always fun and they come in massive numbers even on other side of the country), one of the best academies - which gave the world Milan Baroš, Marek Jankulovski or even for short period of time Vladimír Coufal - and generally speaking Baník is pride of Silesia (one of the regions here) ... they play at borrowed stadium in other side of city (which is Moravian) for some time now, so one of the objectives by board is new stadium in Silesian part of the city (their old stadium, Bazaly, is now their training centre) and of course to play in upper floors of league table :)
As a Sparta fan, I’d agree for a neutral who’s looking to do a Czech save Banik is probably best option. Could argue maybe Slovacko, Teplice or Dukla. It’s too easy being Sparta after a season domestically (even though I still have my yearly save!), same with the 2 other top 3 sides. Also maybe 2nd best fans 😉
i'm currently managing academica in portugal. they won the first ever portuguese cup and used to be an established top flight club. they are now in the third division for the first time in their history and i have recently won the cup again with them and brought them back to european football! very fun save idea
If you have the J-League loaded in Japan I would recommend JUBILO IWATA. A team that's glory days from the late 90s to early 2000s saw it become one of the most impressive club sides in Japan, culminating in an Asian Champions League. A side who failed to bring in young talent and as their team aged, saw them steadily decline and have now become something of a yoyo team between J1 and J2. Would be exciting to see them rise to the top of Asian football once again.
Persipura Jayapura is a really good choice for the Indonesian League. I also could suggest my hometown club, Sriwijaya FC, where both of them were an arch rival back on their glory days, dominating the Indonesian League for years. it's really sad to see their downfall nowadays. hopefully they can sort out their issue and see them play in Liga 1 again (even though I don't really like to watch the Indonesian League like I used to before, but I'd like to see either one of them clinched the title)
Don't forget Mitra Kukar, one of the biggest team back in the old days, defeated Arsenal on a friendly as well. Sad to see that team's downfall to Liga 3. Their fans didn't deserve it..
@zealand 9:40 an even lesser known fact is that there's a tiny German speaking part of Belgium also, and they have a club in the first division as well, namely KAS Eupen. Could also be an interesting save.
A great option for fm24 is to play with Lyn in Norway. They used to be one of the biggest clubs in Norway and had players like ighalo and John obi mikel. But they got bankrupt not to long ago and got promoted to the lowest playable league last season
@@ThePlayaJohnthey hate DAC (Dunajska Streda or Dunaszerdahely, with their Hungarian ties), not Kosice. OP wishes to recommend a save with Kosice, which is funny, because they also have/had partially Hungarian backing… So, maybe less focus on the hatred based on nationality or ethnicity and more fun with football and FM
They also promoted a Spanish club that has a Catalan-only policy. I would wish that club to crash terribly and become extinct. So yeah, they're recommending funny and curious concepts for you to try out in FM, but they certainly dipped their whole legs into politically controversial clubs.
for Singapore, I recommend trying Young Lions. They are essentially a squad made up of predominately under 23 players that will essentially made up the bulk of the national team. However, they have always struggled and been finishing at the bottom or near bottom
Another great saves for Croatia are in our second division with few fallen clubs including: Hrvatski Dragovoljac (previously constant first league team which in 90's even played in Intertoto Cup and has fallen lately, they will start 23/24 season in 3rd division, they are my current save for summer time) and Cibalia (which got back to second tier after falling to bankruptcy and starting from scratch in third division, they even played in Europa League in 09/10 season after they finished third season prior). Another great save idea is current team which was this season in Cup final - Šibenik, and they are relegated to second tier IRL. In FM23 they are still in first tier, so try to keep them in league with getting to cup finals as IRL if possible (aka get match HNK Hajduk vs HNK Šibenik in cup finals) P.s.: in current Dragovoljac Save that I'm playing (at least kept them in 2nd division not like IRL) have weird coincidence, or even not - IRL first match day of season 23/24 and in-game 23/24 are totally same o.O Not joking, have screenshots at least for one match which will happen on almost same date. Edit: few typos fixed
I’m from Israel and last year on fm22 I downloaded the third division of Israel and played with Maccabi Jaffa and won the Champions league with them after a decade or so and my grandpa who passed away 2 years ago was from Bulgaria and was a Maccabi Jaffa fan so that was the most special fm save I ever played.
I started a Basel save a while ago. Won the league 4 times before leaving for Monaco, beating PSG for the title (the only time they didn’t until now, 2034), i moved to Man Utd and won them their first title since Sir Alex’ last season. Champions league final against that PSG team for the treble upcoming. Start at Basel!
I was almost sure you'd pick Associação Académica de Coimbra in Portugal, the oldest active Iberian club. They've been on an absolute spiral down the leagues, just a few years ago they were in the top flight but this year they were almost relegated from the 3rd division. There's also Vitória FC, also top flight regulars, they were relegated to the 3rd division because of licensing issues and this year they got relegated to the 4th division.
i am managing academica in fm right now! it's the 2027-28 season and i have brought them back to the top flight and won the portuguese cup with them last season! we are now fighting in the europa league and are looking ahead to compete with the big 3 clubs in portugal
@@grosdoorne Belenenses for sure. The best story in European football. A historical club going on 5 consecutive promotions after having to start from the bottom league of Portugal. One of the 5 clubs in Portugal to have been champions. Also the Salgueiros story is full of mistakes. The second biggest team in Porto is Boavista and the reason given for Salgueiros stadium to disappear is not correct at all. It was not a decision to eliminate Porto's competition in the city. That makes no sense. They were in the third league at the time, completely bankrupted and sold it to the city to try to save themselves
For Colombia I recommend America de Cali, they’ve reached four Libertadores finals and lost every single one, suffered from financial troubles after their assets were frozen due to connections with the Cali Cartel, were relegated around fifteen years ago, came back up in 2017, won another league title a few years later, and are still without a Libertadores title. They’ve got good youth facilities, solid finances, and a good squad, but are still far from winning the big prize and breaking the curse.
Thanks for mentioning Chivas, that’s my favorite teams since I was a kid, and it makes me happy that they are getting the recognition they deserve, specially after losing the last Liga MX final
I'm in my 4th season at Wellington Phoenix & managing the NZ national team as well. You can't buy from other teams in the Aussie A-league, only swap or loan. With a total of 5 foreign players allowed to be registered (yes, any youths on big boy contracts count towards that), it means you really have to focus on pulling from the NZ leagues. I've been trying to get a promotion to a bigger club somewhere in the world, but it's been tough. Nobody will give me an interview. Apparently topping the league several times doesn't carry over to the experience required to get promoted to a higher league.
i won the league and finals first season then went to brazil second div won that then went to dussel dorf kept them up from relegation in bundesliga then became dormunds manager
@@macsenrushworth1379 I have a bunch of leagues loaded, but never seem to see manager positions for Brazil or other South American countries in the Job Centre. I've checked my filters, they just don't show up.
Did an extensive save with Chornomorets in FM22. One of my favourites ever. Brilliant club with an excellent stadium to start. Came so close to toppling Shakhtar, won a couple cups but no league
I'm living next to this stadium and playing fm every year for them since like fm 06 or so. They're also didnt mentioned that Chornomorets got to Europa Legaue round of 32 in 2013/2014, beating PSV in the last group stage match and left them with nothing.
Great video! For Spain I always like the idea of playing Real Union. Basque club in the small town of Irun on the French border, and one of the four Basque founding clubs of La Liga in 1928. But they only spent four years in La Liga because by the time it was founded, that was after their peak. Before then, Real Union won three Copas del Rey... in 1918, 1924, and 1927. And the last one, 1927, was the first all-Basque final of a Copa del Rey with a decisive winner (two previous all-Basque finals, in 1910 and 1913, were part of Copas that had two finals and two winners) and the only one until the 2019-20 season. Now, Real Union has slipped far and have sat in the lower leagues for decades, with their only recent spots of any success being their shock victory over Real Madrid in the round of 32 in the 2008-09 Copa del Rey and reaching the Segunda Division for one season in 2009-10. Returning Real Union to their glory days after a century would be neat.
I actually screamed when you got to Vancouver FC! I started supporting them (I also root for Chelsea, my OG team, and NYC FC, my hometown team) because I'm excited with the way Canadian football is developing and want to support their domestic league, and VFC are the newest team (as in, they were established in November of 2022) so I'm most invested in them making their name. ESPECIALLY because of the very one-sided derby with the Whitecaps, so I love that save idea. Come on Eagles!
I never thought I'd see my own home club in here! Some interesting things about Náutico for the curious: - Our stadium is considered one of the most feared in the country because it's small, the acoustic is good and the grass is cut TALL on purpose to the opposition teams are not used to it. We have had many periods without a home loss in our history, even playing against way better clubs. - During the 60s we had our golden era and were considered one of the best teams in the country, however it was during the same time a nice lad called Pelé played for Santos, therefore we never won a major national trophy (we lost to Santos in our best chance). - Edgar Davids almost played for us once.
The IBV club from Island sounds like a good idea! By the way Zealand, how can you not take FC Vaduz in Swiss League, this is the greatest challenge of all of them ;)
I'm pretty sure they mentioned/ chose Vaduz in their previous video. Its been a while since I've seen it, so I'm not sure, but that might be why they didn't choose them
For Norway, a good pick could be Lyn FK, they are in the third tier of the norwegian table, is the oldest team in the nation, has won 8 cup, 2 top league trophies and have had players like John Obi Mikel and Odion Igahlo, due to senere financial shenaneganeri they plummeted down the leagues but are making their way back. If you can pick lower than the 2nd league in Norway that is.
I already did Portugal and Germany ones this year, Portugal one because of this: "In 1911, a group of friends decided to fund a football club after watching a game that opposed FC Porto and S.L. Benfica at the Campo da Rainha."
Another interesting option in Portugal would be Belenenses, that until the 60's was one of the Big 4 of Portuguese football and in 2018 separated from the investor-controlled team and started again at the lowest level (7th division), having already achieved 5 consecutive climbs, a real FM save in real life! This year, the club moved up to the 2nd League, while the investor-controlled team (now named B SAD) went down to the 3rd League! And curiously in 2019, when Belenenses celebrated its centenary, they invited Salgueiros for a special match celebrating the great history of friendship that the two clubs have!
RFC Liege is a great shout for Belgium. It's also one of the most influential clubs in Belgium - not because of the players they produced or the playstyle they inspired - but because they were the other party in the Bosman ruling lawsuit which forever changed football. They also don't have a suitable stadium to Jupiler Pro League so if you ever get to the Belgian top flight, you'll be bankrupt in no time as your board builds a new stadium and the league refuses to give out any money.
Hey from Aotearoa/New Zealand Z, knew you'd choose the Nix just like the great (honorary) New Zealander you are. Watching you got me into FM23 late last year and my first ongoing save is the Nix. I'm only in July 2028 but we've won 5 leagues, 3 Grand Finals and an Australia Cup by developing the best Kiwi and Aussie talent and 2nd nationality guys alongside developing 3 international stars out of 4 overseas players. I have 2 Ghanaian 20yo's that are 14 cap national team veterans. Also, a very interesting start as you have one more year of an absolute goal scoring weapon in Oskar Zawada. Love from NZ 🇳🇿
Just dropping in from Hong Kong to say HKFC was founded as a Rugby Club in 1886 I'm fairly sure the Football/Soccer section wasn't split off until the 20th Century (I'll ask next time I'm there) as they were playing a combined rules version when the club was first founded. Fun extra fact in Rugby they are the wealthiest and biggest club in HK and as a result not well liked by anyone else you'd find very few HKers rooting for them to win anything 😂
Whitecaps and Vancouver FC absolutely face off domestically in the Canadian Championship, played by all Canadian Premier League teams and all 3 Canadian MLS teams. But juts happy the CPL was finally mentioned in a FM video lmao
For south korea i would suggest doing seongnam. Former kleague and afc championship winner been to the club world cup. Now they are in kleague 2. So you could try to restore them to glory.
Best save for Turkey this year is probably Bursaspor. They won the Süper Lig in 2010 but are currently in the 3rd tier. It's a classic back-to-glory days save.
There is (or will be shortly after beginning the save) an all-inclusive transfer ban deemed to Bursaspor until 2024 (1.5 years) due to bad management. (even one former player sued the club because the club haven't paid his salary and the court sequestrated the team's BUS for that player) That may be much. But, their youth systems are beyond impressive for Turkish standard, so in like 5-6 years, if luck would be on your side, you can play with a team full of young wonderkids. It is a back-to-glory story, with a bit of RB Salzburg-esque flavor. (don't forget to upgrade them though lol)
Greek side OFI Crete is also a very interesting save. One of the biggest Greek teams with incredible supporters and many ups and downs. Goal is to win them their 2nd Greek cup
Hi Zealand, Argentinian here, i play FM since 08 and i've always choose to play in Danish league. My All time favourites to play are the HIK (Hellerup, 3rd division) , the mighty AB (Akademisk Boldklub) and Silkeborg.
doing salguieros atm, in 11 seasons i have taken them from the 4th division to winning the conference league last season, in only our second season in europe. this season we are in the title race for the first time with more of an outside chance tbf winning against porto home and away i would encourage anyone to try salguieros as it is probablythe most fun i have ever had in recent years in fm
Hvidovre is certainly going to be interesting in FM24 as well, with them ACTUALLY winning promotion. Is it possible to avoid relegation from the top tier with a semi-pro side?
I'm a Hvidovre fan irl, lived in the city for some 30 years, and i can tell ya one thing, the team is not bad at all, lots of former Superliga (Danish premier league) players who's aging, and are playing their hearts out, along with a group of young players, who have a great deal of potential between them. It's an interesting group, and i suspect that people will think it will be a walkover to play againts us, but we would have drawn FCM in the first match (FCM is a top 3 club in Denmark) if not for a retarded VAR Ref, who also lost his job as a result. So very interesting team, very interesting season.
From Argentina it could have been Gimnasia (LP), from the 1st div., being the oldest club in all of America (1887), and having financial problems which led to them giving opportunities to their youth which showed great potential
Since you didn't mention a specific club in Northern ireland, I would recommend Portadown, they won the league title 4 times between 1989 - 2002 under their longtime manager Ronnie McFall (he was there from 1986-2016), but since 2008 have somewhat yo-yoed between the Premiership & Championship, falling way behind their fierce rivals Glenavon from the neighbouring town of Lurgan who have steadily remained a top flight side.
That's funny. I managed Haverfordwest in my latest save. Turned them professional, won 3 cups, 2 league titles, a manager of the year award and went to the Europa League group stage. Built a great squad for Wales and financially the club was doing amazing. Left for Kaiserslautern after the chairman refused to give me a contract matching the success I had achieved (almost all the players were earning more than me). Good to see the face of the man who made me leave Wales for Germany 😅
Honourable mentions: Cienciano (Peru): This club is in an interesting paradox because they have never won anything significant in Peru other than a second tier title 2 years ago, but are the ONLY Peruvian club to win anything in Conmebol (2003 Sudamericana & 2004 Recopa). You'd need to bring them back to the Conmebol stage and eventually down the line win the league and the Libertadores with them. Recreativo de Huelva (Spain): they're Spain's oldest club and have recently been promoted to the third tier. Definitely interesting and original to say the least. Hatayspor (Turkey): after the earthquake on 6 February the club had lost two players (including Atsu), as well as their sporting director, and pulled out of the Süper Lig for the rest of last season. Their stadium was also severely damaged in the aftermath of the quake, so they had to relocate to Mersin for this season's Süper Lig. Your goal is to show Istanbul's big boys that what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger; that is granted you win the Süper Lig at some point. Fredrikstads FK (Norway): a former sleeping giant of Norwegian football that's experienced lows as far down as the third tier and have been now stuck in the second tier for God knows how many years. CSA Steaua (Romania): while definitely not even being the only case within the Romanian game, this is probably the most extreme case of two clubs arguing over the identity of one (FCSB & CSA). Your goal here is to get to the top flight and then try to topple FCSB and become the top dog in Tateland. Dukla Praha (CR): once a top dog of Czech football, and even a decent performer in the European stage, now stuck in the second tier for a really, really long time. Deportivo Armenio (Argentina): as the name suggests, it's the club of Argentina's Armenian diaspora.
I can't believe Rob popped up at the end, I'm a Haverfordwest season ticket holder 😂😂😂 didn't even mention that we qualified for Europe out of nowhere in 2022/23
Never expected to see my team in such a video!! Us Náutico supporters haven't been feeling all too well lately 😅😅, I hope we can return to our rightful place in the first divsion soon. N A U T I C O 🐭🐭
I am actually doing Hartlepool but in FIFA lol, I had no idea Reynolds considered them. Nice idea for Romania, I was expecting it to be us (FCSB/Steaua) again but that was actually creative. For an easier save there is also Rapid (take a resurgent phoenix Rapid after bankruptcy and lead them to their first title since 2003 in front of their passionate fans on their new stadium, shaking off the other 4 teams that have been vying for the title this season. Also, they were founded in 1923 originally so you d be taking charge of them in their centennial year of existence). Petrolul could also be fun in their first year back up but they don’t have the city rivalry aspect (their city rival used to be Astra Ploiesti, they were moved to Giurgiu and became the Astra Giurgiu of haunting West Ham fans fame before going all the way to the third tier and bankrupt this season) or FC Arges (two time champions and Dobrin s old team, if you want a bit of reading up on another Romanian legend that Real Madrid wanted to sign). In the second tier if you can go that deep you also have Dinamo (the fact that they are still alive is actually a miracle, they aren’t even allowed to sign players as of now with their new insolvency plan pending approval) and Otelul Galati (remember them in the UCL? They got 0 points but still) that were promoted irl and the two Timisoara clubs (Ripensia and Poli, both relegated irl). Hell, if you like torturing yourself you could even do CSA Steaua, the other club resulted from the Steaua identity fight as they aren’t legally allowed to promote into the first tier being owned by the army but they do play the cup like any other 2nd division team so you can do a winning the Cup-Conference League-Europa-CL no mistakes allowed save if you are really feeling hardcore.
the Steaua Cup-Conference League-Europa-CL no mistakes allowed save sounds tasty. I did a FM19 save with Chindia winning, them the CL, so it's too soon to return to Romania for a long term save, but maybe in FM25, if Steaua is still not allowed to play in the top flight, I might have some fun with that idea 😁
@@garuco That actually seems like quite a while ago but I guess there are loads of leagues to play as in the game lol. Yeah, from an FM perspective I can definitely see why that would be appealing but also frustrating. Imagine losing the CL final and having to start all over again. Irl there doesn’t seem to be much of a change planned despite a few reported talks with a possible investor which is even annoying their few supporters at this point so yeah, it probably will be the same in FM25 too. Oh, and as an update to my comment, Dinamo s transfer ban has been lifted in the meantime and Rapid is in a bit of a crisis at the start of the new season having won 1 out of 5 games and having beat themselves with 2 own goals in the last game
fun fact: 21:53 two famous german streamers played at that club. Niklas-Wilson Sommer and Sidney Friede (combined they have 1.55 Million Followers on Twitch). Sommer is playing at a 3rd division side german team and his contract is running out so you could get a good right back back to his old club.
14:05 little tipp, it's called "Dritte Liga" instead of "Drei Liga". "Dritte" meaning "third". I get the confusion, beacaue in Germany we don't have letters behind the numbers like in "3rd" or "5th", we use a dot instead (3. being the equivalent of 3rd)
A save I recommend in chile is Santiago Morning in the 2nd tier they haven’t won the title since the 1940s and there best ever player is regarded as one of the best chilean players of all time Raul Toro
I have video idea, because I see lots of people who concede goals from long through balls or balls over top. You could use this: dont do low block, heres why. Look at the dude who's doing the through ball. Everyone on your team is literally 8 meters away from him. If you do low block for the defensive line, he will have tons of space to move around. If you condense the space around him and attempt to block his pass by pressing him, it will do wonders. In my opinion, keep I would keep my frontline like that though, since those players could also help condense the space. and step up more or you could just set the defense to higher, not much higher however if you do much higher than dont select step up more
Sabah actually won the Malaysian first division sometime in the 90s, though they haven't won it since the league rebranded in 2004. I think another interesting save would be guiding Terengganu to their first ever first division title. They are the only state team to have never won a first division title in Malaysia, and they have finished as runners-up four times, once in each decade since the 90s.
Template for this video: 1: Former giants of the league, dropped to second/third division, can you bring them back. 2: This region/club never won the league, can you be the first. All valid options and probably enjoyable but I’d have liked a bit more variety in the save ideas. A bit like the locomotive one from the previous vid on FM22
One really interesting team to sign up in Brazil is portuguesa. A really classic club that was on a financial disaster and now find themselves in the *fourth* national division. It's a really tough challenge and really fun.
Hi Zealand, Hi Llama, My dad is a Salgueiros supporter and I am a Porto native, but as far as I know here are a few things about what you talked (which might be wrong, so after posting this comment, I'll probably research it a bit again): * Salgueiros went bankrupt on poor management and sold everything until they only had literally a Bingo house. Fans brought them back * Boavista has been around all this time and feeling pretty left out when you ignored them as the second biggest team in Porto, even when Salgueiros was still doing ok, and having won a Championship. Also I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally thought you were going with Belenenses, another 'fun' story, but in Lisboa Keep at it, love your content
For Denmark, if a more easier challenge is interesting, the club Aarhus GF (AGF) in the top flight of Denmark might be fun. It is just behind the three biggest clubs in the country. Its the oldest club in the top divisions of Denmark (1880) and the club is located in the second largest city of Denmark. The club have have been very unsuccesful since 1996 and have been yoyoing in the leagues in the past couple of years, although they gotten more stable and have gotten third place two times in recent years (third this season). The team have a lot of young prospects and one of the best defenders in the league, Bisseck plays for them, a player you can get a lot of money from. The history of the club is also interesting, it had the most succes in the 1950's. The club was the first team in Denmark to compete in the European tournaments. And the club is seen to be either a club you love or a club you hate by the fans in Denmark. Its is one of the most succesful clubs in Denmark. Jack Wilshere played for the club for one season. The club have had the nickname "the madhouse" from the fans, due to its tumultuous period in the 2000's, economy in ruins, bad leadership, and the achievement of being able to get from being in 1st place the first 9 matches and getting relegated in one season. The crownprince of Denmark is a fan of the club. And of course the stadium is named after a brand of beer. On the other hand there is also Aarhus Fremad which is the second largest club in Aarhus, it might be a fun challenge to dethrone AGF to be the best team in the second largest city of Denmark and challenge the other teams FC Copenhagen, Brondby and FC Midtjylland. This team is in the third division.
I've picked up many talented players from Alianza Lima Peru throughout my life. I think its time to tackle a South American save with that club. Every one of these Fun Save videos makes me want to start a new save.
My idea for a save in Germany is Arminia Bielefeld, they were flying high in the Bundensliga in 21/22 and even beat Leipzig at Christmas but they suffered back to back relegations and will play out next season in the 3.Liga.
I don't think the story around Salgueiros is exactly correct. The club was already in financial difficulties in the late 90s and they decided to sell their stadium to Metro do Porto because they believed it would take them out of their debt, which didn't happen and led to the club's temporary extinction in 2004, one year before the metro station opened. They had plans to build a new stadium in Arca d'Água, which is why there's a lake there now. They returned in 2008 and played in other borrowed stadiums since then, with the Arca d'Água one returning to the plans in 2021. The municipality of Porto has no interest in only promoting FC Porto, especially when at the time the president was a Boavista fan. In fact, I would love a Portuguese First Division with only clubs from the Metropolitan Area and District of Porto
Lierse is an interesting one for Belgium. A smaller club that nonetheless has won 4 national titles (and an unofficial one during WW2), the last one as recent as 1997. For many years, the player's tunnel at Leeds United had "Always Remember Lierse" written on the wall, because in '72, instead of easily beating this small Belgian club at home, they got a 0-4 pounding. However, due to financial troubles, they filed for bankrupcy in 2018 and merged with FC Oosterzonen and started in third tier under the name Lierse Kempenzonen. Currently stuck in second tier for some years. And for Argentina I think Quilmes is a cool one. The oldest still active club in the country, now playing in second tier and haven't won a title since '78. Also a beer brand (though they have been shirt sponsors of other teams as well).
Or if you really want a Walloon team to win: Charleroi. They're an old and relatively big club, with hardcore fans, but have only been runner's up for the title once in '69 and runner's up for the Cup in '78 and '93.
For Brazil i recommend EC Vitória. It has already been named by the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport as "one of the 7 biggest youth divisions in the world" Between 1995 and 2000, the club won twenty-one world titles, counting juniors, youth and children. Developed several elite players as David Luiz (Benfica, Psg, Chelsea, Arsenal), Hulk (Porto, Zenit), Gabriel Paulista (Villareal, Arsenal, Valencia) and many others. '02 World Cup winners like Júnior Nagata (Palmeiras and São Paulo), Vampeta (PSV, Internazionale, PSG), Edílson (Flamengo and Corinthians) and Dida (AC Milan) were homegrown players too They have never won a national championship before and they rival is EC Bahia, the newest member of the City Group
A fun save in Italy: Go with the one time Scudetto winners of USD Novese, who won the title back in 1921-22, while never being in Serie A - because back then another league were formed and disbanded - Novese play in the 6th tier of Italy so you would have to download a database.

Wisla Krakow story is even more interesting because the club was saved by fans buying clubs shares and by ex-Dortmund star Jakub Blaszczykowski firstly lending the club money, then playing for it for minimal national wage and eventually becoming its co-owner
Our club was a menace in 00s (won the league 6 times), third oldest polish club (2nd oldest existing)
We were the last team to beat Barcelona in 2008 CL season, they went all the way to win it
I've been to the game where we were winning 3:2 against Barcelona at half time in 2001 (eventually lost 3:4)
We've beat Inter Milan 1:0 (I still got this ticket at home)
We drawn 1:1 and lost 2:1 to Parma the season they won UEFA cup and demolished them 4:1 few years after
Wisla has great footballing history and it deserves to get back on winning tracks so if you're looking for a save in central europe, come help us get where we belong :)
great story man,any suggestions for signings?

I already informed LLama of this when he was asking for save suggestion in PL :)

Another interesting club to manage in Finland would be TPS. They are one of the most recognizable brands in all of Finnish sports, not just football. They have been stuck in the second division for a few years and it would be fun to try to get them back to their glory days.
I just pick KPV everytime because with decent tactics u can get to promotion playoffs really easily.
Bringing them back up to the top level and then topping their all-time best finish of second place by winning the Finnish championship would be another interesting project
did they do russia where russia league
Played with them and got fired rip
As someone who actually played for Salgueiros youth teams, this is spot on! 👏👏👏
As someone who's never heard of the team, this is probably spot on
I actually love Salgueiros, my highschool was really close to the old stadium.
THANK YOU!
@@philipmcniel4908A bit head-scratching, but still interesting! 😅👍

When it comes to Serbia i would like to mention several other clubs that could be fun:
Vojvodina - a club with good historical success that never managed to assert itself over the big two.
They also played in Ligue 2 once and unofficially won it
How did they unofficially win it? Were they not allowed to because they are from Saar?

They also have 20 youth recruitment in the game
yep good job sounds about right.
Unfortunately in reality, the Young Lions are just…bad

Small correction; oldest club from the Netherlands is Koninklijke HFC.
Why does no one like östersunds?
@@yashtiwari1189 the embezzlement thing for one, but they’ve also been very shady with some of the deals they’ve made.
@@Vince_Lasal Surely he must have pocketed a lot of the money.
Save over :)
i think they suggested that last year so
@@ohaatageldi nah it was arenas last year
pique invested in the club before he retired
that sucks when you are super invested in a save then the board unrealistically sack you
@@minichalvo9818i took over mid-season on a team in the 2nd Argentinian division that was only 2 points off relegation (so disappearing from the game) and finished -2 goals away from the last promotion place having managed only 14 games and I got sacked when the board told me: 1. their expectations weren't high as i took over mid-season and 2. they wanted to battle against relegation
the only time i ever rebooted a save because of a result, i replayed the last match of the season and got to the playoffs, that kept me the job.
@@petebowden5946 you are right, Slovacko is good as well and Dukla is sleeping giant
Sending greetings from Spartak Trnava!
@@petebowden5946 I did Dukla a few years ago and it was great fun, been thinking about doing another save with them
i'm currently managing academica in portugal. they won the first ever portuguese cup and used to be an established top flight club. they are now in the third division for the first time in their history and i have recently won the cup again with them and brought them back to european football! very fun save idea
@@cimolbalado oh yea forgot about Mitra Kukar. they were a strong contender too but sad to see their downfall to Liga 3
"Vancouver FC and Vancouver Whitecaps, these two teams will never face off domestically."
Voyagers Cup: "Am I a joke to you?"
Picking a team for Slovakia that everyone in Slovakia hates FML, Košice are the play
Maybe hate less and do a save with Dunaszerdahely. :)
Why do they hate koscice
@@ThePlayaJohnthey hate DAC (Dunajska Streda or Dunaszerdahely, with their Hungarian ties), not Kosice. OP wishes to recommend a save with Kosice, which is funny, because they also have/had partially Hungarian backing…
So, maybe less focus on the hatred based on nationality or ethnicity and more fun with football and FM
They also promoted a Spanish club that has a Catalan-only policy. I would wish that club to crash terribly and become extinct. So yeah, they're recommending funny and curious concepts for you to try out in FM, but they certainly dipped their whole legs into politically controversial clubs.
@@Mebsutawhy is it bad to have a Catalan only club when there is Athletic Club with Basque only policy? In itself that is not bad inherently.
In Switzerland you can play as a Leichtenstiener team called Vaduz. It’s a very fun save
for Singapore, I recommend trying Young Lions.
In FM23 they are still in first tier, so try to keep them in league with getting to cup finals as IRL if possible (aka get match HNK Hajduk vs HNK Šibenik in cup finals)
P.s.: in current Dragovoljac Save that I'm playing (at least kept them in 2nd division not like IRL) have weird coincidence, or even not - IRL first match day of season 23/24 and in-game 23/24 are totally same o.O Not joking, have screenshots at least for one match which will happen on almost same date.
Love to Israel from Bulgaria❤
Seeing Llama mention Südtirol after me sharing the progress of my südtirol save from last FM with him. Makes me really smile :)
There's also Vitória FC, also top flight regulars, they were relegated to the 3rd division because of licensing issues and this year they got relegated to the 4th division.
also original Belenenses still climbing up and up
i am managing academica in fm right now! it's the 2027-28 season and i have brought them back to the top flight and won the portuguese cup with them last season! we are now fighting in the europa league and are looking ahead to compete with the big 3 clubs in portugal
Also Beira-Mar that won a portuguese cup once and are one of the clubs with more appearances in the portuguese league. Now in the 4th division
@@tiagoalmeida3339 Never forget the club that had Eusébio.
I haven’t played football manager since FM18, but boy does this make me wanna get back into it.
Great video! Lots of good save ideas. Having the actual Welsh chairman pitch his club was really great!
Thanks for mentioning Chivas, that’s my favorite teams since I was a kid, and it makes me happy that they are getting the recognition they deserve, specially after losing the last Liga MX final
Vancouver Whitecaps and Vancouver FC actually can face off domestically in the Canadian Championship (basically the Canadian FA Cup)
Toppling Shakhtar is the hardest thing ever 😂 I did win 3 league titles in a row with Obolon Kyiv but I lost EVERY match I played against Shakhtar lol
11:00 fun fact, Inter folded after last season, and FM22 was the last time you could play them in FM.
Some interesting things about Náutico for the curious:
- Our stadium is considered one of the most feared in the country because it's small, the acoustic is good and the grass is cut TALL on purpose to the opposition teams are not used to it.
Its been a while since I've seen it, so I'm not sure, but that might be why they didn't choose them
they won titles in the 90s and a few years ago David James was a player manager alongside Hermann The Herminator Hreiðarsson
Surprised that for St. Louis City FC, he didn't mention the challenge of matching their real-life record by winning their first 5 MLS games in a row.
Love the Haverfordwest County Chairman at the end, Oscar Borg former player of my team Braintree plays for them he is very good.
Oscar Borg my lord, Oscar Borg!! Ooooooooh Oscar Borg 🔵⚪️
We’re looking after him well!
He didn't play for Braintree very long but I remember when I saw him he was good compared to the rest.
I'm in my 5th season with Bonnyrigg Rose, currently in the Chamionship, such a fun save!
Fun extra fact in Rugby they are the wealthiest and biggest club in HK and as a result not well liked by anyone else you'd find very few HKers rooting for them to win anything 😂
do you know why they have looser match rules compared to other teams?
Whitecaps and Vancouver FC absolutely face off domestically in the Canadian Championship, played by all Canadian Premier League teams and all 3 Canadian MLS teams.
But juts happy the CPL was finally mentioned in a FM video lmao
Zealand wearing a Peckham town kit brings tears to my eyes, first team I ever played for in south London 🎉🎉💪
You know, I think OFI Crete were actually in the previous iteration of this video, from FM22.
Hi Zealand, Argentinian here, i play FM since 08 and i've always choose to play in Danish league. My All time favourites to play are the HIK (Hellerup, 3rd division) , the mighty AB (Akademisk Boldklub) and Silkeborg.
So glad you picked U-Cluj for Romania! They are definitely the "people's team" in Cluj, as opposed to CFR.
Cool video! I was looking for a new save and now I’m starting one in Czechia with your club, thank you very much!
doing salguieros atm, in 11 seasons i have taken them from the 4th division to winning the conference league last season, in only our second season in europe. this season we are in the title race for the first time with more of an outside chance tbf winning against porto home and away
i would encourage anyone to try salguieros as it is probablythe most fun i have ever had in recent years in fm
I can’t believe u recommend my club. Deportes Melipilla. I love u Z ❤
this video required a massive amount of work and research. Thanks!
4:57 whitecaps and Vancouver fc can also meet in the Canadian championship, basically the Canadian cup.🙂
I said the same thing, didn’t bother scrolling through until after haha. #VoyageursCup
Honourable mentions:
Cienciano (Peru): This club is in an interesting paradox because they have never won anything significant in Peru other than a second tier title 2 years ago, but are the ONLY Peruvian club to win anything in Conmebol (2003 Sudamericana & 2004 Recopa).
Did an RFC Liege save on fm22 and it was one of the most fun saves I've done
A save I recommend in chile is Santiago Morning in the 2nd tier they haven’t won the title since the 1940s and there best ever player is regarded as one of the best chilean players of all time Raul Toro
Vancouver FC could play the Whitecaps in the Canadian Championship (if that's even in FM). Nice to hear Vancouver getting some love!
Template for this video:
1: Former giants of the league, dropped to second/third division, can you bring them back.
Hi Zealand, Hi Llama,
My dad is a Salgueiros supporter and I am a Porto native, but as far as I know here are a few things about what you talked (which might be wrong, so after posting this comment, I'll probably research it a bit again):
* Salgueiros went bankrupt on poor management and sold everything until they only had literally a Bingo house. Fans brought them back
* Boavista has been around all this time and feeling pretty left out when you ignored them as the second biggest team in Porto, even when Salgueiros was still doing ok, and having won a Championship.
Also I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally thought you were going with Belenenses, another 'fun' story, but in Lisboa
Keep at it, love your content
Forza Fremad! Haha - Loved my save with them and even picked up a shirt 👍
It has already been named by the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport as "one of the 7 biggest youth divisions in the world"
Between 1995 and 2000, the club won twenty-one world titles, counting juniors, youth and children.
Developed several elite players as David Luiz (Benfica, Psg, Chelsea, Arsenal), Hulk (Porto, Zenit), Gabriel Paulista (Villareal, Arsenal, Valencia) and many others. '02 World Cup winners like Júnior Nagata (Palmeiras and São Paulo), Vampeta (PSV, Internazionale, PSG), Edílson (Flamengo and Corinthians) and Dida (AC Milan) were homegrown players too
They have never won a national championship before and they rival is EC Bahia, the newest member of the City Group
Hvidovre is a great shout. They actually got promoted in real life this year!
A fun save in Italy:
Go with the one time Scudetto winners of USD Novese, who won the title back in 1921-22, while never being in Serie A - because back then another league were formed and disbanded - Novese play in the 6th tier of Italy so you would have to download a database.
