I really appricate this video. I am taking a truck driving class and feel that the instructor just hurried through this stuff. Most of the guys in class grow up around big rigs and have even driven big trucks.
On duty not driving after that 14 hour mark. So you can work 18 hours as long as no more than 10hr 59min are spent driving. So yes you could work (on line 4) for 24 consecutive hours as long as no driving was done after the 14 hour mark and cannot have more than 11hrs driving during that 14hr period. At which time you need a legal 10hr break to reset your 14hr clock. And things change a little bit (kind of) if you are "split sleeper logging" but I do not have the time to explain that.
in ca only when it is above 80 degrees. All you need to do is a safety inspection, wich takes less than 7 minutes, you you can just flag the location and the time you did it, & write Safety Inspection no need to go to line 4. Pullin Hazmat loads dot looks for these. I left that out because I didn't want to confuse those having a hard time getting up to speed. Don't worry, the more you all do it, the easier it is.
@scottthornburgh26 I think you need to review your logging "legalities". 24 hours on line 4 is completely legal. The 11 and 14 hour rules states that once you go to an "on duty" status (line 3 and/or 4) your 14 hour clock starts. Now during that 14 hours you are allowed to drive for up to 11 hours, but you cannot drive after that 14 hours is up even if you have only driven 6 hours during that period you are not allowed to drive once meeting that 14 hour mark, but you can continue to remain
To theguy complaining about the 1/2 break, if you looked at the date of the video, it was made 2 years before the law was enforced, so it was completely legal
You do not have to show any time for a post trip. In this video I was just focussing on the grid. At the end of the driving period you would flag it with location & post trip. Good question.
I have had some DOT say you do need to mark it, as if any of them are all on the same page any way. also anyone thinking they can log 11against straight hrs of driving, dont cuz that is a red flag for DOT, also dont make everyday exactly the same as far as marking everything on the hour n half hour cuz it can look too perfect to some officers. yes i know adding 1 and 1
a los trokeros hispanos me pueden desir las 10 hrs para dormir se tienen ke agarrar segidas o se pueden agarrar en partes durante las 24 hrs aver si m pueden ayudar
I think you can't drive for 11 hours straight and go off duty without a 1/2hour break after 8 hours driving and on duty not driving and no post trip inspection and you call that legal???thats wrong.
i say be as detailed as u can to cover your ass. they audit companies and match your logs on a day with also fuel reciepts from that day. also dont try to be that supertrucker sleeping 2 hours and driving 30 hours it can bite you in the ass and hurts our industry even more with the law makers.
Hey I just wanted to say thanks, all of your videos have really helped me. I am just getting started driving a truck and you have been a big help.
I really appricate this video. I am taking a truck driving class and feel that the instructor just hurried through this stuff. Most of the guys in class grow up around big rigs and have even driven big trucks.
you know even though u did this quick and that its was kind of half ass it still was very helpful. thank you

: Susete ) beijinhos a todos .Mena.Só agora é que vi que era teu marido, estou a ver todos os videos é muito interessante.
dang nabits
What would you do on the days that are not legal
why did you not mark each pretrip and post trip? you went from driving to straight into sleeper with no post trip

No you can take two 2 h brakes and put only one ½ in that log book
UMmm,loading ,securing your load, doing paperwork ,stuff like that ,
The one where you do pretrip 1/2 hour and then drive 10 1/2 straight is iILLEGAL!!! You can't drive more than 8 hours without a 1/2 hour break!!!
At 05:30 that is not legal. You can't drive 11:00 hours strait. You have to take a 30 min break within the 1st 8 hours of driving.
this video is from 2010, 8 hour mandatory break was not a law when this was made
dang phone. add up just hours and half hours is easier but looks suspect to some officers.
plz show recap or roll over hours,
I can't seem to get this frick'n log shit ! Why can't one just drive the 11 everyday ,
I think you can't drive for 11 hours straight and go off duty without a 1/2hour break after 8 hours driving and on duty not driving and no post trip inspection and you call that legal???thats wrong.
