Had a strange problem with mine. Should mention it was in a boat that had a fire on board and may have had some water/ fire extinguisher powder sprayed on and near it. It has the Bluetooth adapter in already. The last day or two it kept shutting down while playing music, rather sporadically, sometimes after a couple of minutes, sometimes after 20/30 minutes. It would just shut down. Never had a problem before. First thing I tried was a new cable which didn’t do anything to help. Then I unscrewed the case and found some corrosion on the circuit board on the other side (not the covered power one) I used some alcohol to clean the board. Put it all back together and then nothing would work. It was just flashing the iPod and aux icons but would respond to the remote but changing the flashing speed. Then I jumped down the google wormhole and found this and got to the part where you removed the tape connecting the front and realised I may have bumped it. So pulled it apart again and cleaned and reconnected it. Turned it on and now it will make two beeps but the Bluetooth connection won’t light up 🤷🏼♀️. It will play music through an aux cable and it hasn’t cut out yet... I’m on about 3 songs so far while I type this. I have cleaned the gold connections and still doesn’t work. I guess aux is better than nothing 🤷🏼♀️. Also couldn’t find the Bluetooth adapter on eBay to try replace it. Anyway, that’s my story.. so sad because I use this thing all day, everyday and a new one is far from my budget at this stage

Thank you for the video, it is very interesting. I'm looking for a way on how to solve an issue with my Bose SounDock 10. One night I was listening to music on it and suddenly in the morning when I tried to turn on, it won't turn on. I've disconnected from power and left the speaker without connecting for around one hour, when I connected to power I hear a beep sound but there are no lights. First thoughs were that probably my remote was broken but I check the IR Led and looks good. Any suggestions on what should I look further? Thanks in advance.

Hi, for me, some liquid got into the 30 pin conector, I think it did not got in the 30 conector on the base. So, now if I conect the stock adapter, both dock and Aux lights will blink erratically, until I unplug the 30 pin dock. Everything works great with Aux still sound big and loud and great. With this simptoms could it be only the dock and I will have to replace with the Bluetooth? I don’t want to buy the adapter without knowing something inside is broken. What do you think? I have a sound dock system that has bluetooth capabilities. I have been using this for years but suddenly now makes a muffling sound. I could hardly hear the words ad the volume is too low even if I max it up. Is this repairable?

Most likely a fault in the front section of the dock - usually the docking connector. Can you make it play by feeding an AUX audio signal in the back.? email support@invebo.com

Shipping fee isn't bad by EMS. Around US$15. On the power boards You can see a small brown capacitor next to the ribbon cable - no need to remove the power board. Just measure across that capacitor and it should give 24 volts DC.
On mine the docking module comprises two parts. An upper small cover which can be pried out with care. Small screwdriver lifts front edge and it can then be turned slightly upward as if hinged at the back and then lifted off. That will reveal a button in the docking module, to the right, which needs to be pressed to release the module from the base.
I think you might be asking about the power supply voltage. There are 3 model: 230V, 110V and a more rare universal input version 100 - 230V. If you want to change your power supply voltage the Sounddock 10 is easy to convert to a different voltage.
My sound dock 10 has no bass sound and only 1 speaker is more sound than the other speaker. Mine is 110v and works fine until I used a new step down transformer (220v to 110v) i don’t know what happen but now when you turn it on, it works but after few seconds it turns off. Even if i use a different step down transformer. What is the possible problem? Thanks

Hi, i have my sounddock 10 for around 9 years and never had a problem but now it just wont switch on. I used it last time 4 days ago and switched it off normally no problems but now it just doesnt react to anything. Checked the cable/socket and remote so its not the problems. Any suggestions please? If you had an iPod in the dock at the time it could have just broken the dock connector. Do you get the beeps when you power up the dock? Can you play music via the aux input socket? If so the docking connector is damaged.
@@ispens I have a 3rd party one, it's my moms bc she has the same speaker and it works for her. When she plugs it in it makes a noise to let you know it's on but with mine it makes no noise and my phone connects to it but no sound comes out

You need a remote. A remote controls for a SoundDock Portable and SoundDock Series 2 are easy to buy. They have less buttons but work most of the functions. (I use a remote from a SoundDock series II for testing SoundDock 10). User manual is here: products.bose.com/pdf/customer_service/owners/og_sounddock10.pdf .
If the volume control woks but you cant navigate tracks on the docked device then the dock connector is faulty. If you cant control the volume then look at the remote control in the dark with a cellphone camera. If you see white dot then the remote is OK and it is something inside the dock.

If you don't see the remote white dot with your camera in the dark then the remote is not working. If you have fitted a new battery then try bending the battery contacts so they make better contact with the battery, This often works on a dead remote. The SoundDock Series II and SoundDock Portable remotes are plentiful and they work on the SoundDock 10.
Hi guys, I haven’t used my Bose sound dock in years and recently pulled it out of storage. The remote is long gone and when I connect my phone via BT (I have the BT dock connector) the sound is much lower than normal. Do I need a remote to control the volume or is something else wrong? With iPhone volume at max both speakers work but the volume level is barely above a normal inside voice. Should I just get a remote or send it to you guys for repair? Thanks in advance
Hi levinkender, I think that is normal, I always have to used the remote to pull up the volume on the unit, definitely you need the remote, by default volume is at 20% every time you turn it on.

I watched your video and started with the basics. The remote needs a new battery. I took a soft toothbrush and dry cleaned the iPod and base.

Well it could be the Bluetooth device faulty. Does you dock beep when you give it power? You need to try an apple device in the dock.

everything works, connect and can hear the music the only problem is that my remote does not work, whyyyyy
If the volume control woks but you cant navigate tracks on the docked device then the dock connector is faulty. If you cant control the volume then look at the remote control in the dark with a cellphone camera. If you see white dot then the remote is OK and it is something inside the dock.
@@razenby hi thanks for getting back to me. I have tried that and nothing works, nothing on the camera, the buttons don't function at all. New batteries and all, could it just be broken?
If you don't see the remote white dot with your camera in the dark then the remote is not working. If you have fitted a new battery then try bending the battery contacts so they make better contact with the battery, This often works on a dead remote. The SoundDock Series II and SoundDock Portable remotes are plentiful and they work on the SoundDock 10.
Hi guys, I haven’t used my Bose sound dock in years and recently pulled it out of storage. The remote is long gone and when I connect my phone via BT (I have the BT dock connector) the sound is much lower than normal. Do I need a remote to control the volume or is something else wrong? With iPhone volume at max both speakers work but the volume level is barely above a normal inside voice. Should I just get a remote or send it to you guys for repair?

Hi levinkender, I think that is normal, I always have to used the remote to pull up the volume on the unit, definitely you need the remote, by default volume is at 20% every time you turn it on.

You need a remote. A remote controls for a SoundDock Portable and SoundDock Series 2 are easy to buy. They have less buttons but work most of the functions. (I use a remote from a SoundDock series II for testing SoundDock 10). User manual is here: products.bose.com/pdf/customer_service/owners/og_sounddock10.pdf .
