Don't get me wrong if they give you a crane to use thumbs up but seen you take trees a lot worse without one. Base cut between 5 and 6 that tree could of been cut in 3 cuts at most. Don't know exactly what size crane was say 45 ton 5 to 6 well within it's capacity limits. But when I owned my own crane set up to pick large dogwood out of back yard of residence. 50 years ago all manual climb lower Chuck and duck chipper log dolly no loaders cut load wood on truck by hand. I learned the hard way we all have it easier now technology is great.

It was a 35 ton, we definitely could have gone bigger it was well within capacity but for one it was a training opportunity and two the operator is subcontracted so he is way more cautious than most I work with as he should be since it’s his equipment! I completely agree technology definitely makes all ours lives easier especially in this industry I did the chuck and ducks and manual work for a few years but couldn’t imagine a whole career of that!
