Congrats on 700 subs man! Love Halloween 6. The theatrical cut is my favorite, but I made my own cut (called the Blu Myers Cut) that combines both versions, but keeps the theatrical 3rd act. Great vid.
That wall, though! How far down does it go?! Lol! Michael's look is one of the reasons why I always loved this one! It also has that great creepy fall vibe.
Just watched the Producer’s Cut for the first time, and I’m gonna be honest, I 100% prefer the theatrical cut. It has less silly cult stuff, it’s gorier, I love the doctor slaughter scene, and the atmosphere and color grading are so much better.
In absolute fairness to the cult, the intention is that they are being played by Myers, they are unable to control him (as is hinted to several times in the film and confirmed by Farrands since), the cult is supposed to be grasping at straws and descending down their delusions in a response to their own fears and inevitable deaths. It's portrayed badly for sure but it is there and that was the intent.
Great review man, love the theatrical release of this movie. I’m watching all my favourite movies (including this one) leading up to Halloween, and I come to your channel when I’m done to hear your thoughts. 👍
Sinister ready for this, this film and the producers cut, I am so emotional about from the production to the reception and what happened behind the scenes. Its all so much craziness I guess is why I love it so much and this is my favorite mask besides the original! The last role of Donald Pleasence ever is back in his so iconic role of Dr Loomis, who is my favorite horror protagonist! May he forever be remembered. I love the scene where Danny protects his my mom. I can totally admit there's alot of stupid shit in there but its so cool to me, its almost like a Jarvis situation and no i dont mean as iconic or even as good but the kid now grown takes down the killer which I love the beat down scene! Oh and that thing Jamie was thrown on was a Corn Grazer, only know that because I used to work on a farm with my dad lol. I love how dark this one is and the strobe light slaughter scene in the hospital is so damn aawesome in my opinion. But i wrote enough here about it and what an awesome review on it!
I agree with everything in this video. Now, as far as Loomis knowing about the Thorn symbol being Michael’s mark, all I can think of is maybe Loomis saw it on Michael’s wrist at some point at the end of 5. But if he knew about the Curse of Thorn, wouldn’t he wonder how Michael got the tattoo? I doubt he’d assume Michael walked into a tattoo parlor. It would’ve been nice if part 6 had Loomis and Tommy put together what they know about the curse and try to figure something out. It seems weird that Loomis knows about Thorn but never says anything about it to Tommy, except for that brief part in the Producer’s Cut. The Producer’s Cut feels more like a sequel since it has more references to the previous films. I think the studios wanted the theatrical cut to be more like a stand-alone film, so they cut some of the ties to the previous ones and also omitted the number 6 from the title. I love the film though. Great atmosphere and captures the Halloween spirit very well. The Thorn stuff never really bothered me much. It’s stupid but when you get to the sixth entry in a horror franchise the filmmakers need to try to do something different. And parts 2 and 5 really set up the whole Druid cult/curse theme, so I think it’s fitting where the script went in part 6.
I love both cuts but I think some good editing could take the best parts of both and then also combine the awesome strobe light hospital massacre with the Pcut ending. Edit both cuts together to make the DEFINITIVE Halloween 6 cut. That sir, would be awesome. Keep the Pcut Loomis narration but also keep Brother Cane over the end credits like the Tcut.
I pretty much agree with everything you said and I like how Michael looks and is portrayed. The only thing I don’t like is when they have close ups and they black out the eyes.
It seemed to me that Rob Zombie was showing a little bit of a David Lynch or Igmar Bergman influence with that white horse bit, which, I agree, is a funny kind of thing to incorporate into a Halloween flick. They also attempted to do something SIMILAR to THAT 2:19 with ole Jason Voorhees in Jason Goes To Hell; The Final Friday.
I do agree with everything you said. The atmosphere is really really dark, because it’s a dark film, Michael is at his best since part 4 or part 2. Kills are really good (reshot). George P. Wilber and A. Michael Lerner do a great job at playing a middle aged Michael Myers. Michael speed walking, nearly jogging, to Kara, Tommy, the baby and the bloody doctor, is genuinely terrifying. The mask looks the best since part 1 and 2. Also, Barry Simms was originally supposed to be played by Howard Stern, but Howard read the script for his part, and didn’t like it, and turned it down.
I also saw this in theaters. I was 12. I had already seen 4 and 5 in theaters also at a very young age. I have been a huge fan as far back as I can remember.
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 I think it was Nightmare 4 that pretty much opened the floodgates. After that I saw all kinds of stuff in the theater.. H4 and H5, Jason Takes Manhatten, Childs Play 2 and 3, People Under the Stairs, Robocop 2.. Great memories. I've always wanted to see the original Halloween on the big screen. Hopefully someday.
I absolutely love Halloween 6 definitely one of my favorites in the franchise I saw this in the teather and loved it then the producers cut not so much
The 6 year gap was for legal battles about the film. Who was going to produce it, and which studio was willing to release it. 1989 - 1995 Michael Myers wasn't on the big screen. A HUGE COINCIDENCE that the James Bond series also had legal troubles in the same years from 1989 - 1995 007 wasn't in the theaters.
I like this one to but Halloween 4 is my favorite one of them all it just something about 4 i love Michael was in Meeker house and plus the rooftop chase it was awesome by the way Brady stood his ground against Michael he tried to give Rachel and Jamie sometime to get by
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 watered-down for the ScreaM/Buffy generation, I even though these films did well I think think this period in time sucked for horror in general.
Actually in the original script, it was really good, so good that Donald Pleasence said, that it was the best of the series. But instead of going off of the Original script that Donald Pleasence loved, Dean Cundy scrapped that script and instead got someone to write a terrible script.
h20 is very 'dawson's creek' does horror and i have fun watching it but i think its a very 'paint by numbers' film and it feels better paced than it really is because of the short run time
Another thing that makes no sense that you almost touched on was in the opening chase scene after Michael kills Jamie and then goes out to her truck and realizes that the baby is not there. Why the fuck would he not go back to the station to get the baby?! He clearly knows that she left the baby there and it's not far away at all because very shortly after she took off he ran her off the road!
"its raining red" I hate that lillte girl lol but i like this movie a lot maybe my 3rd favorite of them & the main chick the red head hottie has the most distinct scream of all the movies, go back & listen, its like "OOOwwwwhhhh! lol . the first one, the 4th then 6, I love part 3 too as a stand alone movie its a great concept "magic meets the digital age" I guess lol.
I can justify Loomis. He probably at some point in his decades long obsession, floated and researched the Thorn theory for Michael but did not want everyone like Brackett thinking he was TOO off his rocker by spouting shit about paranormal druid mythology.
I honestly think Halloween (2007) was a pretty enjoyable movie. I do think that the backstory was unecessary but John Carpenter told Rob Zombie to make it his own and thats what he did. I thought Malcolm McDowell was fantastic (but still not better than Pleasence) and Michael was once again menacing. I think most of the dialogue is crap but Brad Dourif and Danielle Harris were great. Yes, the nudity, gore, and profanity are over the top and unnecessary but I give it a high 6 out of ten Tbh, I actually enjoy H2 as well. Rob Zombie actually did something different with the story. Brad Dourif, Danielle Harris and Malcolm McDowell were great. Yes, Michael probably shouldn't have been unmasked but irl michael wouldn't walk around everywhere with a mask on and it just made sense. The swearing profanity and nudity are still over the top but this film was honestly pretty enjoyable. I'll give it a 5 and a half out of ten
I was 20 when i saw H6 in theatres , i saw H4 and was 13 at the time, i always thought this movie.was ok if H5 wasn't the.shit show that it was this movie could have done so much better but ofcourse it had to run with thorn and explain the stupid man in black and it just fuked filed the movie up, it had some good kills and its just too bad about this film cause then H20 comes out and its even worse in my eyes a scream ban wagon film, Halloween is 1 and 2 and 4 iiii guess but it wasn't that great either it.was portrayel of Myers i found weird with the mask and hockey shoulder pads anyhow not bad i guess I love Halloween that's why I'm excited for 2018 cause they have done away with the sequels and its boom right after the original well few years like 30 I'm thinking don't think they are pushing 40 years ahead in movie cause Michael would be a senior
H20 feels closer to the original than Curse of Michael Myers though, and i mean Michael Myers in general. People say he looks too skinny. Well yeah..the mutha fucka ain't gonna eat much.
@15:15 Indeed, this is like the dumbest shit ever. Some of the writing in this movie ... it's almost as if they had NO script, and were just making stuff up as they went along. So much of this cut is entirely disconnected from "reality" or conventional storytelling of any sort, it's almost like the screenwriters didn't live on our planet. lolz The only way to enjoy it is as an extended rock video, or a surrealistic nightmare of sorts.
@@sinistercinemareviews5420 Someone told me recently - and I'm not sure if this is true - that the theatrical cut of 'Curse' is essentially Harvey Weinstein's film. If true, that explains a lot. lolz
So if they refuse the main character 5000 dollars what the fuk are they paying actors for these movies I figured Danielle Harris would have made atleast 20,000 for H4 and that was back then am i way off? Like I bet for her part in Rob Zombies Halloween Danielle for sure got 50,000 I mean dimension must have paid there actors fuk all for H6

fascinating.. adds a lot to the film
Fun fact: the doctor who gets his face bashed in on the bars is actually George P. Wilbur. Something about reshoots, they used someone else as Michael
