How to change the boot order in the BIOS settings on your computer or laptop to boot from a different hard drive, boot from a USB stick, CD, or other device.
👉This guide shows simple steps using Gigabyte B560 HD3 motherboard, however settings from other manufacturers such as HP, Dell, MSI and others are very similar as they follow industry standards in BIOS menu design.

I copied my old ssd onto a new one and installed it into the main m.2 slot and it booted up fine but when I installed my old ssd it defaulted to booting to that ssd. In bios I can see both drives in easy mode but when I go into advanced mode boot options only the original ssd is showing. I found that running disabled and having the new drive in the primary m.2 slot would boot how I wanted and I was able to format my old drive. I went back into bios and enabled the boot option that was stuck for the old drive and it attempted to repair it and gave up I turned it back to disabled in bios and got booted into the correct drive and checked out the old drive to see what happened. It created the partitions for windows and I had to use diskpart to be able to delete the partitions. I’m thinking it’s a security feature and I need to somehow mark the drive as trusted or maybe because it’s not a dynamic disk?
What to do if it’s not there the options??? I have windows 10 it says
Under m.2 in the easy mode window I can see my team group 1tb ssd hard drive but I have no bootable hard drives and nothing under boot option priorities

Maybe I didn’t something wrong but I’ve copied the os onto my ssd and went into the bios like you said but when I go to boot order I can’t see it showing up. Any idea why this may be? Thanks.
If you did everything right, then for me this is a strange event ..
If you have UEFI, then the new disk is not visible in the Boot section because something went wrong in the process and as a result the new disk is not bootable.
Now try to do the following:
Boot the computer from the old drive, open This PC and if there is a new drive there, then format it and do the whole cloning process again, but be careful in the program settings.
If you don’t see a new disk in This computer, then open Disk Management, find a new disk there and format it in Disk Management.
@@ipMalik thanks for the reply. i can see the ssd in this computer and see it in disk managment its even recognized in the bios home screen but i cant see it when trying to change the boot order. I think my issue may be cause my sata operations is RAID but thats just from google searches so not entierly sure.
Did you ever find the solution? I’m having the same problem but I just disabled it and it and put the m.2 I wanted booted to in the slot closest to the cpu.

Hi. I have a new m2 ssd installed. Should this m2 ssd be detectable in bios before I do any cloning? Or do I need to clone my old SSD with Windows on it first in order to make it bootable and only then it will show in bios?
If you have an old BIOS, you can put the new disk in the boot priority in the first place, but if you have UEFI, then you will not see the new disk in the boot priority until you make it a boot device, that is, you first need to clone Windows.
@@ipMalik thanks for replying. I had my bios in CSM mode. If I switched to UEFI I still could not see new storage being available on a boot list. But despite all that I just cloned my old storage to the new one. Once I've done that I entered BIOS again and this time new storage was available so I selected it for booting. After loging into windows booted from the new disk storage, I've noticed my original old storage was no longer present in explorer under 'This PC'.
What happened here is my new storage took over letter 'C' from my old storage. So as a result old storage had no letter assigned, chance it was not visible. Reassigning different letter to old storage fixed this problem.
So all in all everything seem to be fine now. Except that clone tool has also created two more partitions so I can see 'Recovery' disk D and "Local Storage" disk E. I don't know why this has happened but both of them take very little space, so it does not bother me much. On the other hand I would want to cleanup "This PC", so I only see two partitions, one for each disk but I am worried to doelete D and E in case this is needed for the main storage to work properly.
@@pistopit7142 If the cloning was successful, you can only use the new disk for 2-3 days to test it, and if there are no problems, you can completely clean up the old disk and use it as storage for your data.
To do this, right-click Start and select Disk Management.
In the window that opens, find the old disk, then right-click on each partition of this disk and select "Delete volume", do this so that the disk becomes one unallocated space. Then right-click on this space and select "Create volume" and then follow the system's recommendations.
At the end of the process, you will get a blank disk to store your data.
@@ipMalik many thanks. Will do that. It is simply amazing that for £80 I can buy 2TB storage that has 6-7 times faster read/write speeds than my old SATA SSD. While I did not expect that, I can see significant improved performance of my PC accross the board, from file management to even internet browsing. Perhaps this is not just to read/write speeds but also to the fact that previous storage was almost full. Thanks again for your valuable video and advise.

Yes, of course it's true.
But you should know that this Windows 10 was installed on another computer and when you connect this disk to your computer, Windows may not work correctly because the drivers for the video card, motherboard, etc. are installed on another computer.
It is possible that the settings in the BIOS will not match the BIOS settings on your friend's computer.
In short, connect this disk to your computer, and if Windows 10 works, immediately install drivers for your Video Card and for the motherboard so that there are no problems.
After this, I recommend that you make a bootable Windows 10 USB flash drive and install the new Windows 10 on your computer so that there are no problems in the future:

If I understand you correctly, the second disk is not displayed in your BIOS?
The problem is in the disk or BIOS settings.
When I select the boot option it says 4 different things and I don't know which is the USB drive but the first one is P2:

@@ipMalik in bios. When I try to select boot option one, there isn’t a SSD only my HDD. so I have to click on my SST so it can launch. I don’t know why it isn’t showing up but I have to click on it.
