" Hello everybody" my new obsession...thank you for starting these series. I'm still waiting my yesstyle parcel to try all your recommendations. Little bit late than usual but thank you angel 😇
Hi James, I use simple grape seed cleansing oil it turns into a milk and rinses away never had any breakouts with it, also use cerave hydrating cleanser as my first cleanser, always follow up with the cerave foaming cleanser just a drop to get any residue off but not dry the skin out as I'm an old girl now!! 😜 I know you hate the cerave packaging but it's been a god send for me I have got rid of loads of expensive shit that didn't work for me and now just have the litre bottles in the shower it's been so freeing to stop searching for that next best thing!! But will still keep watching you of course 🥰
Cerave is great and their basics (cleansers/mouisterizers/lotions) are comparable to a lot of k/j skincare while being easier to access if you’re in the us
@@maria263 hiya, I order mine from cocooncentre they have the litre bottles, and just add in a vitamin c face spritz or my algae oil from simple, easy and keeps my skin clear xx
I've heard that micellar water is horrible for the skin because it doesn't remove the makeup completely, it just kinda drags it all over your face, hence why you need to use something else after it (cleanser, oils, gels etc) Do you agree?
Just found your channel and your brothers and have been binge watching. You are both such down to earth sweet guys and I'm really enjoying your content. When both of you get together and laugh..it makes my day!
YES I NEED THE BEST OF SKINCARE!!! I cherish your opinion and I’m trying to get into a proper skincare routine because I want my skin as beautiful, hydrated and radiant as yours 🖤
I’m new to oil cleansing and I love it but the DHC deep cleansing oil I’ve been using is TWENTY-EIGHT DOLLARS for what is essentially olive oil + emulsifier. So I’m happy to see less expensive options!
Should you double cleanse if you don’t wear makeup? For example I typically double cleanse at night to wash my makeup off...but in the morning I usually just use my normal cleanser..love your videos 🥰
Great video as always -I found your vids a couple months ago and have to say my skin has improved so much since I started to pay more attention to how and what I was putting on my skin. I feel so much better about my skin now -Thank you so much!
Yay! I’m exited for this series. Also, a friendly tip: to avoid the annoyance of breaking down the balm, put it in your palm and rub until melted. It works great that way! I also prefer cleansing oils since I don’t have twist open/close a cap.
I use bioderma atoderm cleansing shower oil. It's a huge bottle because it's meant to be used on the whole body and it's only 6 dollars. It's amazing but it claims you dont need to use another cleanser after at but I do regardless just in case lol.
Interesting! If it's meant for the body, won't it be too heavy for the face though? I have oily/combo skin and I can't find an affordable balm or oil for my skintype!
@@samiahonein7050 no! It's actually really light feeling. Imo. I have really dry skin but this doesnt feeling much like an oil at all to me.....it feels more like body wash with a little bit more slip to it....if that makes sense. It says on the website its gentle enough for the face and even to use on infants. I love it so much.
I love the Muji Cleansing Oil!! I bought bec its the only one I can easily and cheaply get while waiting for my chance to get the DHC one but I love it! Affordable too! I did this routine for a while -> Muji Cleansing Oil Sensi - Muji Gel Cleanser - Muji Light toning water (high moisture) I have very sensitive face with eczema and this combo made my face so clear & bright. Too bad I've stopped it to try other products but im going back now.
I bought the heimish cleansing balm but was disappointed by the fact that it didn’t work on my skin at all. 😕 Still to this date I’m sticking to the banila cleansing balm

i’m gonna have to run to the nearest Muji 😍 i was using the Ponds cold cream cleanser then moved on to a Biore micellar water, and both probably aren’t for me! here’s to hoping that an oil will be my best bet!
So excited for this series! I enjoy seeing what products you use and recommend, especially now that I'm trying to find hydrating products for my drier skin. Keep up the great work!
You've mentioned a few items I'm very interested in trying now. I don't use miscellular water for a cleanse just makeup removal before cleansing. Great video!!
I like the DHC oil, even though I have acne prone skin. It emulsifies quickly w water and it takes off water proof make up. With a good gel cleanser my skin feels clean but not tight. Also I live in southern Texas so I have humidity on my side.
I am using the garnier gel for sensitive skin with aloe vera and zinc, it is helping me a lot with acne, it has a very good price and it does its job well.I already know that I will love this series❤I can't wait for the next video to come out.👍🏻
Do you recommend only exfoliating once in a routine? If you use the PHA cleanser, should you avoid an exfoliating toner and/or chemical exfoliant after that?
Yeah, I'm going to switch to oils from balms just because it's faster/more hygienic. Right now I have a couple mini sizes of the Clean It Zero balm and it's fine. Oh, and thanks for introducing us to those hair velcro things! I got some and it makes doing my skincare SO much easier.
James! Just wanted to say a big thank you to you. These videos focused on one subject are really helpful and they're great for helping me to build my mom her skincare routine (this is her yt account btw) cause her skin type is completely different from mine and I'm so used to choosing things according to my needs lol She's 56 and it's been almost a decade since she actually took some time to take care of her skin. So I'm gifting her some products on Mothers day and can't wait to see her reaction :) Please make more videos on different topics such as essences, moisturizes etc!! Tysm ❤❤❤
So pumped for this series!! Do you happen to have any tips, tricks or routines for pre- and post-exercise? I'm going to be getting back into bodybuilding and would love to hear your take on anything I can do to protect my skin while staying fit!
i hope you do this with products that are little more easily accessible. i love your recommendations but they are not that easy to get due to shipping, custom charges etc. love your content ✨
Hi James what are those sticky thingy that's holding your hair back? I forgot what are they called lol Need to order asap! And do you think cleansing oils break u out! Im currently using the faceshop one and it seems to break me out I think (but not sure though) even tho I wash off the residue completely with the second cleanse!
YOU sir, are my actual skincare guru of my lifetime! You’ve taught me so so much and I thought I knew a lot about skincare and it was just the tip of the iceberg. Thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge. You have no idea how much you’ve helped me. I’m forever grateful! You’re awesome and so is your brother 😊💕
My skin is oily reactive and I have been using the milky micellar water by Garnier to get my sun cream off and its been good with my skin as a first cleans. I recently made the mistake of going in morning and night with a retinol like the product I got suggested which was a big mistake as my skin is still healing now from the breakout im now doing every 3 days only at night and avoiding my neck till its healed with a glycolic 5% tonic in between at night. how do you feel about the Superdrug sensitive anti-aging face sun cream? from my research it seems to be one of the better affordable ones for those of use on a very tight budget plus its vegan which is nice to know and seems to be reasonably low comedogenic wise.
I’m so excited about this series, and what a great one to start with!! I received Manyo Factory’s cleansing oil to review a while back and it’s the only one I’ve ever used, but now that I see this MUJI one you talked about, I’m gonna grab some. I think cleansing oils are ridiculously priced, but they really do the job of removing my sunscreen and eyebrow makeup!
Hi James! ♥️ Thanks a lot for such informative video! 🤗 I do usually apply 2 cleansers at the end of a day, and the first one is usually... umm... feminine washing gel 😅 I apply it because it usually contains glycerine and washes my sunscreen and everyday makeup (with no foundation) gently & easily! It becomes even more effective with few drops of micellar water in it 🌝 So I do really like this combo as a first step.
My favorite has been the Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm. It turns milky and rinses off easily with water, which is a must for me as I do not wipe things off my face with a towel(no wrinkles, thanx.) My least favorite cleansing balm is the Drunk Elephant Slai. It's so hard to get off and it doesn't even remove everything. I have the Tatcha Camelia Cleansing Oil waiting to be used after my Farmacy is gone. I like to try new things! I may have to pick up one of your recs when I'm done that one!
Another recommendation for the oil cleanser: DHC oil cleanser. It does the job. A whole bottle lasts for around 4-5 months with everyday use. It's not that thick but not too thin either. I am currently trying out dear klairs though!
Hi! You’ve mentioned in another older video that sometimes you will wash your face in the morning and you will only use an oil cleanser. Would you recommend the Klairs oil cleanser for that? I’ve just ordered the Krave Matcha Hemp Cleanser which I understand should be perfectly fine for a single cleanse on the days you don’t have any makeup or much products on the skin, but I just always feel like I’d have to go in with something else after an oil cleanser. As in, I can’t just use it’s on its own.
I purchased the Klairs oil on your recommendation, I LOVE the smell of it but unfortunately it is impossible to rinse off for me. I may try the muji next. I love your videos
Hey, James thank you for making such informative videos! I am a busy mom of 3 and a farmer/homesteader who is about to turn 32! Can you believe I am just now researching how to care for my skin? YIKES, I have been blessed with great skin all my life that is not sensitive at all but I want to keep it that way! Your videos are helping me to narrow down what products I can get for my dry, flakey dehydrated skin 💓 I am thinking about going with the "ordinary" line. If by some miracle you see this can you suggest a nice high SPF sunscreen that can be bought in the state's that has a very matt dry down? As a homesteader/farmer, I do loads of dirty jobs every day and I find sunscreens make barn dust and dirt from the garden stick to my face which is... Not ideal. But I am out in the blazing summer sun like all day... So unless I want to look like a dalmatian covered in spots of discoloration I had better figure this out lol.
Cerave has great sunscreens. I like la Roche Poche has a good SPF with good moisturizing and niacinamides too. Works great for me. No heaviness on my face.
curious your take on using olive oil, coconut oil or other natural oils as your first cleanse or oil cleanse step - for someone more on a budget or not into spending alot on a cleansing balm. love ya
Hallloooooo James 😃👏 How are doing ? I have a question about how exactly I just cleansing my skin ? I have sometimes oily skin and sometimes very dry skin. Which cleanse should I use ?
My favorite cleaning oil - Klairs gentle black deep cleaning oil & favorite cleaning balm - Elf cleaning balm my fav both emulsify very well and make my skin hydrated and moisturizer and my skin type is normal and my favorite micellar water is Bioderma sensibio H2O micellar water love all of them but I use them according to my skin needs ❤ 😊
I feel oddly satisfied that one youtuber finally talked about the Muji cleansing oil for sensitive skin😳😄 I have recommended this cleansing oil for everyone since I tried it a year ago, but no one was talking about it on youtube! Gothamista recommended their toner but then I saw this cleansing oil on sale for ten euros (400ml bottle!) so I had to try it. I was beyond happy with my purchase but haven't seen it for that cheap since. Even my boyfriend enjoys using it. It is so calming experience to massage your face with the oil. (Make sure to start with dry hands and dry face when you massage the oil around and melt dirt. Then add a little bit water to emulsify the oil...) It removes spf and waterproof eye makeup without troubles. The big bottle is out of stock all the time on Yesstyle because they sell it basically with the same price than the half size bottle😬 From the smell I would say that it smells less of an olive oil than the olive oil bottle in your kitchen. As a skincare nerd I am happy that there isn't unnecessary added fragrance. I think the smell of the oil is very neutral.
Hi James! I really love your vids :) I know it's not the best because I think they contain fragrance, but I really love the brightening effects of the Face Shop rice cleansers. I feel like both the oil and water cleansers have an almost instant effect when it comes to evening my skin tone. They are also very gentle and non-drying. I'm curious to know if you have any experience with Face Shop products? I'm not sure how I feel about their other products, but I do love the cleansers.
How do you feel about the KOSE softymo speedy cleansing oil compared to some of these? It's very inexpensive and quite light but I've been loving it lately. I do have to use more than one pump for makeup removal though

I avoid anything with an ingredient that can aggravate malessezia and have comedogenicity rating of above 2. My skin has been looking its best now thanks to being more aware of what's in my skin care products :D Hope this helps!
I've heard that micellar water is horrible for the skin because it doesn't remove the makeup completely, it just kinda drags it all over your face, hence why you need to use something else after it (cleanser, oils, gels etc)
Do you agree?
Yes Yes Yes! This is exactly what I have been needing lately! James, your content is just great, I'll never get tired of telling you X
Muji is such a great brand. I love their high moisture toner.
Yes finally someone giving some love to dear klair’s ! Been my first and is still my favorite oil but it seems no one talks about it 😅
James, you saved my skin. Favorite channel. Periodt.
Which one is better for oily/combo teen skin,, especially to remove light makeup? Oil cleaners or cleansing balms? Thanks!!
Should you double cleanse if you don’t wear makeup? For example I typically double cleanse at night to wash my makeup off...but in the morning I usually just use my normal cleanser..love your videos 🥰
hey! yeah you only need to double cleanse to take off makeup and sunscreen :) so i only double cleanse in the evening :)
I love this one too
Interesting!
Do you use it to take makeup off? I am interested but use face and eye makeup every day!
@@vanesitaduran It takes off make up....but I still go in with micellar water after both cleansers to remove stubborn mascara.
I love the Muji Cleansing Oil!! I bought bec its the only one I can easily and cheaply get while waiting for my chance to get the DHC one but I love it! Affordable too!
I did this routine for a while -> Muji Cleansing Oil Sensi - Muji Gel Cleanser - Muji Light toning water (high moisture)
I have very sensitive face with eczema and this combo made my face so clear & bright. Too bad I've stopped it to try other products but im going back now.
I bought the heimish cleansing balm but was disappointed by the fact that it didn’t work on my skin at all. 😕 Still to this date I’m sticking to the banila cleansing balm
I love you, I have learn a lot with your videos. Also I have had very stressful days lately and what I do is that I put your videos and let it automatically keep reproducing, and your voices helps me relax. THANKS 🙏 (sorry for my English)
A much needed series 😭❤
i’m gonna have to run to the nearest Muji 😍 i was using the Ponds cold cream cleanser then moved on to a Biore micellar water, and both probably aren’t for me! here’s to hoping that an oil will be my best bet!
So excited for this series! I enjoy seeing what products you use and recommend, especially now that I'm trying to find hydrating products for my drier skin. Keep up the great work!
Started using half of the recommended products (selected one per each step). Thank you! My skin is healthy and it breathes 💖
You've mentioned a few items I'm very interested in trying now. I don't use miscellular water for a cleanse just makeup removal before cleansing. Great video!!
Does it feel weird to have that much influence over people’s skincare choices?? You’re THE guru!! ❤️❤️
I like the DHC oil, even though I have acne prone skin. It emulsifies quickly w water and it takes off water proof make up. With a good gel cleanser my skin feels clean but not tight. Also I live in southern Texas so I have humidity on my side.
Right on time! I was so fed up on studies that this is such a blessing. Thank you ! 🙏🧡
What is an oil cleanser oils for? Cleaning your face? Do you wash them off after?
James! Just wanted to say a big thank you to you. These videos focused on one subject are really helpful and they're great for helping me to build my mom her skincare routine (this is her yt account btw) cause her skin type is completely different from mine and I'm so used to choosing things according to my needs lol
She's 56 and it's been almost a decade since she actually took some time to take care of her skin. So I'm gifting her some products on Mothers day and can't wait to see her reaction :)
Please make more videos on different topics such as essences, moisturizes etc!!
I could listen to you talk all day!!! 😊 I’ve been wanting to get a cleansing oil so this video is very timely!
Yes, so timely! I've just been looking into oils and milks.
I was literally going to try a new cleanser and always go to you first for your recommendations. Perfect timing 😍
I'm doing a micellar water/cleansing oil video marathon tonight. Thank you for this, James!
Hi James! Just a quick question. Do you prefer the Muji or the Klairs oil cleanser? :-)
I looove my Tatcha Pure Camellia oil! It doesn’t irritate my eyes and so pleasant to use. I think it’s their best (and cheapest) product.
You have very similar skin to mine and I absolutely love how you show simplicity and availability with your suggestions for your audience!
Hi James what are those sticky thingy that's holding your hair back? I forgot what are they called lol Need to order asap! And do you think cleansing oils break u out! Im currently using the faceshop one and it seems to break me out I think (but not sure though) even tho I wash off the residue completely with the second cleanse!
hey! hmmmmm no ive never had a break out with oils! Ummm im not sure what theyre called but they are from yesstyle haha
I was looking for good cleansing products and the god of skincare has blessed me . Thanks!
WAITING PATIENTLY for this series to be complete before I stock up on products. James is the only person I trust now. 😅🙋🏻♂️
Hi James! ♥️
Thanks a lot for such informative video! 🤗
I do usually apply 2 cleansers at the end of a day, and the first one is usually... umm... feminine washing gel 😅 I apply it because it usually contains glycerine and washes my sunscreen and everyday makeup (with no foundation) gently & easily! It becomes even more effective with few drops of micellar water in it 🌝 So I do really like this combo as a first step.
I’m really new to the whole skincare thing, so what is the order you are supposed to apply everything?
I only started using oil/balm cleansers last summer and I adore the Heimish one!
It just feels very nice on my skin
I’m so ready for the rest of the videos for this series 🙏🏽
How did you know!? I was just looking for a new cleanser!! 💖🥰
Not sure if you got one but I like the Neutrogena ultra sheer dry touch sunscreen
Cerave has great sunscreens. I like la Roche Poche has a good SPF with good moisturizing and niacinamides too. Works great for me. No heaviness on my face.
Hey James, a bit off topic here but what do you use to set your eyebrows? I like how they look healthy and fluffy!
Your skin is glowing what do you use to add glow to your skin? Please tell me.Wow!
curious your take on using olive oil, coconut oil or other natural oils as your first cleanse or oil cleanse step - for someone more on a budget or not into spending alot on a cleansing balm. love ya
What about facial oils as a last step in a night time routine to lock in moisture? Yes or No? If yes can you suggest any?
Hallloooooo James 😃👏
How are doing ? I have a question about how exactly I just cleansing my skin ? I have sometimes oily skin and sometimes very dry skin. Which cleanse should I use ?
which one is better for combination skin? miceller water or cleansing oil?
Dear James, can you please upload a video where you talk about antioxidant products and ingredients PLEASE! I will always love you ❤
My favorite cleaning oil - Klairs gentle black deep cleaning oil & favorite cleaning balm - Elf cleaning balm my fav both emulsify very well and make my skin hydrated and moisturizer and my skin type is normal and my favorite micellar water is Bioderma sensibio H2O micellar water love all of them but I use them according to my skin needs ❤ 😊
I clicked on this so fast. I’m definitely in need of new skin care right now. I can’t wait for the next steps!
How do you feel about the KOSE softymo speedy cleansing oil compared to some of these? It's very inexpensive and quite light but I've been loving it lately. I do have to use more than one pump for makeup removal though
This is such a nice idea, i know i am gonna love this series ❤️
I see James I press “like”, it’s that simple!
