Absolutely helpful! Thank you so much 🖤 And...If I may use the opportunity to ask now, have you ever used Paula's Choice C15 booster (or anyone from the community)? Vit C might be my favourite ingredient in skin care and I am really curious about that product.
Sandra DeHaven maybe you need more hydrating products AND a super moisturizer? Like hydrating toners or serums? That way, the. Moisturizer locks in all that extra hydration .
Cleansing in the morning is “controversial” cause it really depends on your lifestyle and your skin. Where i live it’s hot year round and my skin is very sensitive and acne prone. If i don’t cleanse in the morning i am guaranteed to have a breakout before my work shift is over. Do what works for you! Also, James you look amazing in those glasses, so good!
I like to sleep in until the last minute in the morning so all I have time for cleansing-wise is micellar water. I do have a Foreo I use at night though.
The concept of doing my evening routine when I get home instead of before bed just blew my mind! I sometimes get too tired and skip it so this is revolutionary 🤯😂
I just don’t feel “clean” if I don’t wash my face in the morning. I feel as if I’m just adding products to a “dirty”, if you will, face. Of course, this could be all in my head, but I feel better cleansing in the morning.
Use a cotton ball with a aha exfoliant toner, essence, or regular toner as your first step. It feels like i sweep off the dirtiness off my face while adding something beneficial to my face.
@@JessieR2023 You're not supposed to use chemical exfoliants in the morning. Chemical exfoliants increase sun sensitivity and increases the possibility of sun burns.
bukster I don’t spend time in the sun. I only get like 5 minutes of sunshine daily. Also my car is tinted. The exfoliants is only active for 30 minutes or less.
@@JessieR2023 You may not personally spend time in the sun, but most people do not follow your lifestyle. It is dangerous to advise people to use chemical exfoliants in the morning, especially when it directly contradicts the warnings on the products.
As someone who goes up and down in income through out the years, I’m happy you consider how to make things slightly more budget friendly. And that you also let your audience know that a lot of skincare treatments are luxury and aren’t necessary. I have a basic skin care routine, but I’ve made the deal with myself that if I keep it up every single day for at least 30 days, I’ll buy myself a nice treatment for my skin as a treat 😊

Is your routine different in the summer? Do you use more cleansers? Take more showers? Use different temperature water? Swim in the ocean? Any one of these can change your skin's condition. It might be beneficial to find out what you do different or what situation changes to make your skin act like this so you can remedy it
I’ve started using spf 30 daily this summer (rather than just when I’m at the beach) and I’ve noticed that a lot of my lingering dark spots have faded away. Although if you’ve got oily skin already might take a bit of trial and error to find something that won’t break you out even more lol
I love James, I really do. RUclips would have less dignity without him. He's one of the few creators with integrity. But I have been wondering whether all this skincare chatter is starting to cloud reality, for him and us. At some stage we have to calm down and admit that our skin is something that has evolved with us, across pre-human species - and it is not tissue paper. Being generally gentle with it, being critical of the ingredients we plonk on it - are all common sense. But beyond that, there's a line. Honestly, if basic activities like correctly wetting and drying and cleaning our skin were this important, we would have died out hundreds of thousands of years ago. I know self care is fun and relaxing, but too much of this thinking - it just creates anxiety.
Saying that - I totally love the skincare ritual and get it all. I adore thinking about the actives, what they do and what plays with each other. I guess I just protest a little when it comes to the idea that we are screwing up when we don't wash just right. I'm just trying to calm it down a level.

Hello James! Love all your videos. I never do any cleansing in the morning. My skin is dry, so I just wash it with the water. I love cold water though, it's very refreshing in the morning. The next thing which is even more refreshing is an ice cube (wrapped in a paper tissue) of pure organic green tea. I have dipped my toes into the morning cleanse waters and I'm not sold on it. I usually just gently wipe my face with a damp microfiber towel. Initially, using a milky cleanser in the morning left my face feeling so dry. 😰 But even after I got used to it, it still felt kinda pointless.
I usually sleep with some acid on my breakouts/hyperpigmentation and then a mask such as the korres yogurt one or the klairs vit.e one so I wash in the morning. However I sometimes don't and have had long periods without morning wash sooo we should listen to our skin😻

Cleansing depends on your lifestyle, climate, and skin type. I cant cleanse in the morning because my face is so dry and dehydrated. Its too stripping 😵
I always advised people in the morning to just use a bit of water and I have recently gone back to that. I have taken up liquid foundation again and I find it good for that too 😊
This is SO HELPFUL I’ve been looking thru ur videos trying to find a more recent video on the routine steps for both morning and night! This is such a blessing thank you James, some things I knew from you, but I learned so much from this video I wasn’t even looking to learn LOL
In the evening, I prefer to use microfiber cloths (knockoff Makeup Eraser) for a “rough” first cleanse in my “triple” cleansing process. That way I feel less icky... because I won’t be smearing as much makeup around my face, during the oil/balm cleansing step. (I use a separate small round cloth for eye makeup, especially when I’m wearing more mascara and or shimmery or glittery eyeshadow.) Just wet the cloth with lukewarm water or apply a bit of gentle micellar water and gently swipe across. While that dries down, I use a bit of soap (or a foaming facial cleanser) to wash out the cloth and then hang it to dry. That way I can reuse it, the next evening. (I reuse for up to 3 days and then toss into the washing.) Then I go in with an oil or balm cleanser, for a while minute... followed by a lightly foaming cleanser.
I have dry skin and I do not clean my face in the morning..I mean, in a way I do :) I put essence on a cotton pad and go over my face with it. It works for me :)
I do my acne products, sunscreen, and pollution control mist in the morning and my more heavy moisturizer and scar healing creams in the evening. It's been working pretty well.
I do the same with my morning cleansing routine. During winters I prefer not to cleanse in the morning as my skin is already dry and in the summer its greasy when I wake up so I have to wash it. Btw the glasses look dope!!!🤩🤩
I’m a bit confused because I see a lot of different opinions... should we let our products dry down just a bit to allow it to “sink” into the skin OR layer on top right after each other?
Thank you sooo much for this. I have, indeed, been cleansing wrong! Ordered the dear, Klairs. Im so glad you did this video!! I literally just made a video about the importance of oil cleansing!
You should review Paris Hilton Skincare!!
It really suits you with glasses! 🖤
Thank you!!
THE LOONA LIGHTSTICK! Yeeees 💖💖💖. Thank you for your amazing advices 💖✨
I have dry skin and I do not clean my face in the morning..I mean, in a way I do :) I put essence on a cotton pad and go over my face with it. It works for me :)

Me: I’m doing what now I- 🥺😂
I thought I knew how to cleanse, but the amount of obvious tips I’ve taken from this that I just hadn’t considered 😂 🙏🏻
I do my acne products, sunscreen, and pollution control mist in the morning and my more heavy moisturizer and scar healing creams in the evening. It's been working pretty well.
Great vid. I love watching how you apply your products. Really need to have a better application than just smearing it on.
Congratulations on 1 million ❤️❤️❤️
Those glasses look absolutely stunning on you ❤️
Thank you sooo much for this. I have, indeed, been cleansing wrong! Ordered the dear, Klairs. I’ve been looking for a good cleansing oil cuz I’ve never tried one before n didn’t wanna blindly get one. We have veryyyy similar skin types! I am so grateful I found you because everyone else i ever watched did not have similar skin. I can’t believe how similar our skin is honestly it’s awesome I feel like the advice will really work for me.
