Again, another fantastic, simple tutorial. I make my own washes for using in painting, and have started to re-paint a LOT of old, soft plastic D&D figures that I got given as part-payment for painting a mate's figures. This figure reminds me of one that's waiting to be painted :-) I'll use these techniques to do the axes and swords on my latest figures, as I love the result you get :-D Thanks again for this video, and keep 'em coming :-)
Cheers Paul, very much appreciated. :) I've been trying to get a load of miniatures painted up for using in Pathfinder, hence the fantasy tutorials of a weekend! Hopefully some more useful ones in the near future. :)
I think it's a personal preference thing more than anything else. I always spray miniatures in the closest colour to what the majority of the model is if possible, so if there's a lot of plate armour or metallics, I go with Ironbreaker spray. Sometimes painting over it can produce streaks, but a second coat gets rid of them, much like some colours over black and white. :)
Hey Sebastiaan, thanks for watching. :). The gold is the Citadel Retributor Armour spray. If shaken well it goes on really nice. I usually do Retributor Armour, Agrax Earthshade, Retributor Armour, Liberator gold (highlight) and Liberator Gold/Vallejo Model Air Chrome mix (extreme highlight). Really brings out the detail and the shine. :)
Hey James, thanks for watching. :) I usually spray everything with matte lacquer (from Halfords) and then pick out any bits of glass/gems/shinies with a bit of gloss. :)
Hey My 2 cents, thanks for watching! :) I use Halfords Matt Lacquer when I’ve finished painting miniatures. It’s good enough for cars so works well on miniatures. Protects them really well! :)
Hey Josh, thanks for watching! :) I don’t think there is an equivalent to be honest. Stormhost Silver works fine instead though. The Chrome can highlight the Stormhost Silver so it is lighter, but I’ve used Stormhost Silver to do blades and things a lot- the latest vid of Emelda Braskov uses Stormhost with Chrome highlights on the armour. :)
FINALLY! A video on how to paint weapons that is not NMM!! Thank you!
Most welcome ramza813, glad you're pleased with it! :-)
Great tutorial! short, easy to understand with many possibilities for application, Thank you!
Cheers Goorbatschov, very much appreciated! :) I try and keep them clear and concise, so good to hear it's paying off! :)

Thanks mate!!!
you are one fantastic resource, mate!
Cheers Konrad, very much appreciated! :)
Nicely done. And just in time I have a few giant undead warriors that need some variation in their colour scheme.
Excellent news! :). Glad you've found it useful, and thanks for watching! :)

Cheers J.A. Checa, very much appreciated! I hope you find plenty of useful vids here. :)
That is awesome!
Cheers Dan Nejedlý, very much appreciated. :-)
Nothing like agrax earthshade to dirty up metal e.g. ork trukk metal -> Leadbelcher, Nuln Oil, Agrax Earthshade, Necron Compound.
It's the best! I love Agrax Earthshade because it's so versatile! :)
I’ve been told to never base coat in metallic, and to paint them black, followed by a metal dry brush. What would you say about this?

Great tutorial. Very clear and straightforward process that's easy to follow.
What miniature is the guy with the axe and the blue cloak? Thanks.
Cheers Paladin, very much appreciated! :) It's a miniature from Hasslefree Miniatures called Ferrus, the pose and detail on it are superb. :)
Nicely done. Where is the mini from please?
Cheers Twoguns, much appreiated. It's a Hasslefree miniature, they do some good fantasy and sci fi minis.
If i may ask, what colour gold did you use for that stormcast eternal?

What topcoat would you recommend for swords? Gloss, semi, or matte?
Hey James, thanks for watching. :) I usually spray everything with matte lacquer (from Halfords) and then pick out any bits of glass/gems/shinies with a bit of gloss. :)
Love it
Cheers Tokolosjgolem, much appreciated! :)
So how would u recommend sealing this paint??cause it tends to get rubbed off easily
I.e:I'm asking to paint a sword for a figma that got damaged

What Citidel paint could I sub for the Vallejo model air metallic chrome?
Hey Josh, thanks for watching! :) I don’t think there is an equivalent to be honest. Stormhost Silver works fine instead though. I should add, Necron Compound (dry paint) is really good for highlighting Stormhost Silver! :)
