Imagine if Rillaboom and Grassy Glide were in gen 7 where the terrains (other than Misty Terrain for some reason) gave a 50% boost instead of a 30% boost. An effective 105 BP stab Grassy Glide off of a base 125 attack stat. Yeah, that's terrifying
@@NosretepKartana would not really use it since it can't set Grassy Terrain itself immediately and you use dedicated Grassy Terrain teams (like other Terrain teams) mostly for bulky seed boosting mons and Unburden sweeper like Sneasler or Hawlucha.
The big issue with both Samurott and Decidueye is the fact that they try to be a mixed attacker, but are too slow to do so successfully because Samurott's HP doesn't make up for its meager defense and special defense and Decidueye's solid special defense doesn't make up for its poor defense and HP. Instead, Samurott's HP should swap with its speed and Decidueye's special defense should swap with its speed. That'd jump both of them up at least a tier in most cases

The water one is usually the best, and they're the best just by virtue of their typing, they usually don't even need a gimmick, like Primarina's thing is that it's just water-fairy lol. Then the fire starters fluctuate wildly, 3 of them are okay to great just by virtue of fire-fighting being an excellent combo, 2 of them were banned due to a broken ability, and the rest are a confusing mess of traits that usually do poorly just cos terrible defensive stats. And then there's Skeledirge, the GOAT, a defensive fire starter, the trend breaker.

In gen 1 fire flying bug and poison types attacks were hardly existent. But even despite the power creep grass still serves as a great type by virtue of its solid resistances.
@tast3ofk0lea y.. yeah? Meanwhile fire and water each have a starter that was banned to ubers, and several OU starters. Grass is objectively the worst starter type overall (and it gets worse when you revisit the starters in future gens) which is hardly a surprise given that it's among the 3 worst types with bug and poison. It was already the king of support in VGC/Doubles when it only had U-turn for pivoting once it got Intimidate and Game Freak then giving it Parting Shot in Sword & Shield was just outrageous. So what makes Incineroar actually so great is its combination of Intimidate, Fake Out and typing and really any pivoting move.

Quaquaval also has a functioning defensive/support set (haven't played for a couple months but I've used successfully in OU). Mandatory for this set is rapid spin, then either leftovers + protect or preferably roost, also can stack all 3 (wall mode) and leave just aqua step (or Close Combat/Brave Bird) for attack, but i like to keep CC or (more often due to incoming grass types) BB to make some use of the moxie ability if you get to KO something, with speed boosts from spin and step plus atk from moxie, it slowly becomes a sweeper, plus keeping the role of a support wall

Like, a Mon who could be overused, has the power, has the tools, but King Gambit and Great Tusk exist, so because of that and only because of that, people don't use it.
Delphox manages to be the worst offender to where the mid stage is more popular design wise. Braixen was in the fighting game. Even Game Freak knows. The hair ears are weird on Delphox
Hello Jimothy. I much like other fellow horse council enthusiasts have been so drawn to your videos. So much so that I would like to post some tributary horse cakes in honor of your 100K. What would you say the top 3 horse council are? Arceus, Macargo, and Muddsale? Answer with care. These cakes could change the political landscape of the horse council for better…or worse.
At 0:55, here’s my predictions: Gen 1: Venasaur Gen 2: Feraligatr Gen 3: Swampbert Gen 4: Infernape Gen 5: No clue, they all kinda suck Gen 6: Greninja Gen 7: Primarina Gen 8: Cinderace Gen 9: Skeledirge How confident am I in my picks? For the first few, very. For the last few, not as much.
Blastoise is a turtle tank with cannons and you'll never convince me it isn't the best starter Beat the elite 4 for the first time as a child with my boy Champion the Blastoise back in the day so it has earned its place in my heart lol
Okey, so Venusaur gets outclassed by a regular mon (Victreebell), Blastoise gets outclassed by several regular mons (Lapras, Cloyster, Starmie, Slowbro, etc) meanwhile what it takes to outclass Charizard is the legendary Moltres? That sounds like a dub for our Fire Flying Friend.
Gen 3 and Gen 9 are my probably my favorite starters visually and competitively. Just a well balanced trio that are all viable and fun to use in their respective gen’s formats
Grass types best 3 times (1,2,9) Fire types 2 times (5,8) Water types 5 (3,4,6,7, LA) As the overall best type of the 3, makes sense water is the most consistent
I think for gen 9 skeledirge and meowscarada both have very legitimate claims to best starter. meow is a solidly OU mon, and has been since the beginning, but while dirge has fallen to UU, it has Ubers viability that meow can't touch. it's pretty easy to make a solid claim for either of them to be the best of the three

Like, a Mon who could be overused, has the power, has the tools, but King Gambit and Great Tusk exist, so because of that and only because of that, people don't use it.
4:28 seeing tauros swords dance is the thing of nightmares
The 30 starters are my favorite to use in Violet, so glad we can have them all in one game!
Jim looking for some way to describe a pokemon verbosely: “yeah so this guy exists”
Calling out Delphox for looking human while ignoring the literal furry men like Incineroar or Blaziken lol
Delphox manages to be the worst offender to where the mid stage is more popular design wise.
Braixen was in the fighting game. Even Game Freak knows.
The hair ears are weird on Delphox
7:18 you know what else is still MASSIVE?
Congrats on 100k subs, Jim!
22:03 were jimothy cool guys, of course we dip our 300 dollar pokemon cards in mama liz's chili oil!
Thank you gangplank w
Jimothy goat uploaded, sleep is not necessary now
Clearly it’s magikarp I thought everyone knew this
I didn’t know Cinderace was a physical Gengar. I always thought the lore was that it was Clefable’s shadow, but apparently it’s a bunny’s shadow
1:50 "Blastoise is turtle-ly outclassed..."
Meganium finally is said to have had some love in the past as a competitive monster!
At 0:55, here’s my predictions:
Gen 1: Venasaur
Gen 2: Feraligatr
Gen 3: Swampbert
Gen 4: Infernape
Gen 5: No clue, they all kinda suck
Gen 6: Greninja
Gen 7: Primarina
Gen 8: Cinderace
Gen 9: Skeledirge
How confident am I in my picks? For the first few, very. For the last few, not as much.
Blastoise is a turtle tank with cannons and you'll never convince me it isn't the best starter
Beat the elite 4 for the first time as a child with my boy Champion the Blastoise back in the day so it has earned its place in my heart lol
Mama liz's chili oil detected, northernlion viewer spotted
Okey, so Venusaur gets outclassed by a regular mon (Victreebell), Blastoise gets outclassed by several regular mons (Lapras, Cloyster, Starmie, Slowbro, etc) meanwhile what it takes to outclass Charizard is the legendary Moltres? That sounds like a dub for our Fire Flying Friend.
I think it may be rondoudou-cif.
Gen 3 and Gen 9 are my probably my favorite starters visually and competitively. Just a well balanced trio that are all viable and fun to use in their respective gen’s formats
If only Sceptile was actually good...
Grass types best 3 times (1,2,9)
Fire types 2 times (5,8)
Water types 5 (3,4,6,7, LA)
As the overall best type of the 3, makes sense water is the most consistent
Everyone always forgets to rank Pikachu & Eevee while ranking the starters.
I think for gen 9 skeledirge and meowscarada both have very legitimate claims to best starter. meow is a solidly OU mon, and has been since the beginning, but while dirge has fallen to UU, it has Ubers viability that meow can't touch. it's pretty easy to make a solid claim for either of them to be the best of the three
I think they should give Meganium revival blessing, it would help it's utility and give it more usage and something that most other mons don't have
The best starter is grimer obviously as it evolves into muk
