    This is so great. The thing with eurorack (especially getting into it) is that you dont really know what to get, but by having some real moduels like this you can see if you like them and then buy them. Honestly think this is a really smart play by instruo and might make them some money aswell!

      Definitely a great move! Being able to test modules before adding them to the physical rack is very useful :)

    I woke up and scrolled through Twitter a bit before I got up and saw VCV's announcement of these modules and was excited to see them added. Sat down at my computer with coffee and see you've already made a video demonstrating them. Fantastic start to my day! Very cool.

    I have just seen the new modules. Really nice to have new hardware clones in the library again. And then so many at once. The golden color somehow looks better on the hardware than on the screen, well, maybe there will be alternative colors someday. In any case, the sound of these VCO's is simply magic. I'm looking forward to experimenting with the new modules, thanks for the overview, Omri.

    Nice patches, as a eurorack owner I'm looking at those patches and adding up the real world cost of the modules. I mean, you'd have spent about £3K on the Data Scope modules before making a noise :)

    (I only have ochd, but I am totally thinking of saying thanks by getting more stuff from Instruo when I can. I'm sure others will be tempted by the 'test drive' these things afford. I bet module producers have sold more than they've lost from letting people loose on virtualized versions of their stuff that lets people get to love what they're making. Sometimes I see a demo but I just can't get enough of an idea why I would buy a module, but I can imagine working with a model of one would really push me over the edge sometimes.)

    What a nice introduction to these module, Omri. But way over my head...
    But thank you for taking your time and show us the capabilities.
    One question though: is it 10 47 (ten forty seven as you say it) or IO 47? As the o is the same character as in Instruo.

    • @OmriCohen-Music
      @OmriCohen-Music  3 года назад +2

      Yeah, there's a lot to explore... About the filter, this is what it says in the manual - I-ō47 Multimode Resonator/Filter is a modern take on a vintage circuit design inspired by the classic 1047 module of the ARP2500.

  • @MycoLyco
    @MycoLyco 3 года назад +1

    Too bad they can’t somehow do a scion for the vcv rack that would be awesome. You’d still need the 555 circuit but that’s really easy to make and could just go into the audio interface 🤔🤔🤔

    Ok, building an Instruo case is now out of the question. I must admit I have mixed feelings about this, but it's definitely a major addition to the VCV landscape. Looks like Arbhar and Lubadh are still missing.

    • @GeorgeLocke
      @GeorgeLocke 3 года назад +2

      The difference between hardware and software is interface. VCV versions will never have the immediacy of hardware.

    • @OmriCohen-Music
      @OmriCohen-Music  3 года назад +2

      Well, the thing is, having VCV Rack and collections like the Instruo collection available in VCV are not really meant to replace hardware, in my opinion at least. VCV is an amazing learning tool, probably the best because it's available for everyone to use, and it's a great platform to experiment with and sort of calculating the next steps with hardware. I don't think there's a reason why you should not have the physical modules at one point, on the contrary, there are many ideas you can bring from VCV to hardware and the other way around.

    • @CinematicLaboratory
      @CinematicLaboratory 3 года назад

      @@OmriCohen-Music I totally agree, that's not really the issue because I love my (real) mutable instruments case. However, these VCV versions are really, really good and I'd rather invest in a good touch screen and a powerful PC, maybe a Microsoft Surface Studio so I can patch with my fingers. You'd need tens of thousands of euro's to come even close to a typical VCV patch you're doing almost every day of the week and VCV has polyphony. I am not a fan of Reaktor because it's a bit too far away from real patching. But VCV just gets better and better. I've recreated my 'Emilie' case on VCV and it sounds a bit 'thin', but really good. And then you can just save it and load a different layout... It's amost unfair :). Got a VULT Freak on the way, finally! Thanks for your response, and all the best wishes! Hope we can have a coffee at Superbooth 2021.
