This has been very helpful. Have had a hard time finding much info on fixing the cooling pump issues. Need to replace the pump on my wife's i3, so thank you for putting this together for us DIY minded folks.
Just an FYI, I replaced the coolant pump on my wife's US i3 BEV using your video as a reference. Thanks for putting this video together. Weird thing is that the pump is located on the opposite side of the car. It is in the same place, just on the left rear side of the car not the right. Very easy to replace and it solved the drivetrain error issue and the fan no longer runs full blast when charging.
@@PhantomTD I refilled the coolant, drove it normally for a few days, checked level and topped off twice and it was good to go. The fix is really easy and total cost was under $300. Damn dealer had no clue what was actual broken. Dealer said the whole charging system needed to be replaced to the tune of $6k plus $3k in labor. Part was $200 and change plus shipping, my labor of a little over an hour (would have been less had I known which side the pump was located. Shaun’s video is perfect!! Will save many folks from being robbed by the dealerships.
Thank you! Talked to two different BMW mechanics I know. One said what you did, the other one told me I need special tools for airing and I have to run a special program to start the airing prossess. Know I know whom to trust. Will probably have a go at it next week :D@@MrTonicAmps

Replaced it today with no issues. Used clamps to minimize lost coolant. Thanks!@@MrTonicAmps
